We just got home from 2 weeks in Maui. We stayed at Papakea in H304 and loved everything about it! This 2 bdrm, 2 bath condo has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. It has not been updated like some of the others, but we really don't mind. We like to cook dinner when we travel so it was perfect. The grills at the pool are awesome and the staff at Papakea should be commended for keeping everything so well manicured and clean! The quiet rules are really nice- even though there were some who violated them. Always amazes me how some people are above the rules! We were within minutes from everything we did and had no problem getting in and out. We loved everything about this condo and we will definitely return.

This complex is great for families of all ages. There is a couple of pools, plus the beach right in front of you. There is also the putting greens for the avert golfer & the shops are a short stroll down the road.
It was very easy to relax here.

We had a great time at Papakea H304. We stayed for two weeks and we were very impressed with the well maintained unit. We usually get tired of the uncomfortable beds when we travel, but not here. We felt the bed in the master suite was just right. The view is wonderful. You look out over the beautiful grounds, pool, palm trees, ocean and Molokai beyond. My grown sons slept in the back bedroom. They said it was the best place we have ever rented. A possible downside for some renters is that the owners have not upgraded to the fancy granite counters and newer finishings. That did not matter to us. We felt at home in the unit. My wife loved having a kitchen with a view to fix meals in.
We have been to Papakea 3 times before, always staying in my brother in law's larger D402 unit. H304 has a slightly better view. It is closer to the elevator. The downside is that it gets direct afternoon sun in the windows. We pulled the attractive shade to keep the afternoon sun out until time for the spectacular sunsets.
Papakea is a great family vacation place. We played on the well maintained putting greens and used the poolside Bbqs almost every day. We had several meals in the ocean front cabana.
There is not much sand out front but we did explore the tide pools. We usually took a short drive (you can walk) to a nearby beach to lay on the sand and snorkel.
We recommend Papakea H304 for a relaxing vacation.
We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The kitchen is a little outdated, but the unit as whole was clean and comfortable. The unit has a great view of the ocean and from the lani. You are in walking distance of a grocery story and if you have a car, you are only a 10 minute drive to Lahina. Would definitley stay again.

Although a comfortable and quiet room, updates were definately needed.
The toilet would continually 'run' and the kitchen drawers would fall down and dump when you pulled them out. The air conditioning left a puddle on the lanai. I am not usually a complainer, but when I asked for repairs, I never got a phone call back and only got the run-around. Nice grounds and pool though.

Our experience was a good one. PapaKea as a destination is excellent. Our particular unit was good, not great. There were issues with the dishwasher (took a long time, leaked) and issues with the kitchen drawers (didn't close very well) but the carpeting was very nice, the Tv's were good, and the space was sufficient. Overall, I would stay there again.

Papakea was an excellent complex, with exceptionally well-maintained grounds. Common areas were very clean and well cared for. The pools and spas were excellent, and the barbecues a great feature. Our unit, H304, was a bit dated, but clean and well-maintained.

the condo was fine. well kept and all. the only complaints would be: the mattress wasn't very comfortable, but it wasn't too bad; the mattress on the sofa bed really needed to be replaced; the driveway into the complex had a huge dip and is very small. overall, everything could be overlooked and you can just concentrate on getting out and having fun, which is what we did. however, you felt the dip and had to manuever thru the narrow driveway entrance...

We just loved this appartment. It is very clean and very well equipped. Also in the kitchen, you find everything you need. The view from the masterbedroom, the living room and the lanai is just gorgeous. Only the second bedroom was quite dark and in the evenings sometimes a bit loud, as you hear other people walking by. Also the Papakea is the place to be with the beautiful garden, the pools and the chairs under the palm trees. Beach access right at the side of Papakea, grocery right behind the parking space of Papakea and a big one some walking minutes away where you also find a Subway, a pizzeria and more. If we could we would spend all our holidays there but the way from Switzerland is just quite far. And not to forget the free internet access at Papakea. That was great for us to compare offers for activities and for the girls to keep in touch with their friends.

This was the first time I stayed at Papakea Resort but have used Chasen Rainbows to book my accommodations. I most definitely will stay in H304 again. The condo was clean and well stocked with all the necessities. The view from the lanai and master bedroom was fantastic. The sunsets in Maui are unmatched. The resort could use its own restaurant and bar but the short walk to Kaanapali Shores is okay for a drink. My friends were very impressed with the resort and happy they came. This was their first trip to Hawaii and glad they came, of course.

We loved every second of our stay at Papakea. Our room was very clean and well equiped, and had such a beautiful view of the grounds and ocean. I would highly recommend H304, and plan on staying there again.

My husband and I, planning our 40th wedding anniversary celebration this year, decided on a trip to Maui. As luck would have it, our daughters, sons-in-law and grandsons decided to join us in the travels and celebration. What a memorable time we had together, and the joy of spending this time with family was nearly topped by the wonderful accommodations my husband and I had in H304 at Papakea Resort. While there, we checked out a few of the other condos managed by Chase 'N Rainbows and couldn't find one we'd rather have had. Such luck to have selected this one with a terrific view, extremely comfortable bed and excellent amenities right off the bat! We were able to walk in, put away our groceries and suitcases, and start enjoying our time in this lovely retreat. I'd worry about giving it a rave review...everyone looking for the perfect spot for a Maui get-away might choose this one. But, we've already made our May 2012 reservation, so help yourself to the remaining dates. You won't be disappointed!

Very nice unit with good layout so as to have privacy between the two bedrooms. Good location on the property with proximity to reception lobby, pool, and parking. View was nicer than expected with full ocean vista although the building is not located on the beach, as gardens and the pool are between the building and the beach. Would have liked a bigger sign from Honoapiilani to the resort and perhaps a bit more advance instructions about driveways (there are two, but one apparently is for exit only). Disappointed on last day when we had a problem with shower door and could not get anyone to respond (neither Papakea management or Chase n Rainbows). There was concern for the safety of the children with us, but since it was near end of stay, didn't think it worth the bother of formal complaint. Otherwise, a very enjoyable stay.

I actually rented two condos in the complex for our extended family of 11. G408 was by far the less modern of the two units, but still comfortable and clean. H304 was more recently renovated and a very nice unit.
The views from the units, grounds, pools, barbeques, tennis courts, putting greens and other ammenities were fantastic. We love this place and would go back in a minute. If you are really concerned about whether you are getting a modernized or renovated unit, one may need to do some research before renting.
The beach area right in front isn't very usable, but steps away the beach widens and is much nicer.
The staff at the resort were great and very helpful when we had questions.
We can't wait to go back to Maui and would stay here again. Love the location.
