This beautiful 2 bedroom retreat is on the second floor and can sleep up to 6 people. It is part of a brand new luxury resort in beautiful Maui, HI. Enjoy ocean and courtyard views from both bedrooms (the courtyard is just as alluring as the unit itself, offering couches for seating and fountains) as well as an extra large private lanai, which is the Hawaiian term for a furnished balcony area. The bedrooms also features a king size bed, colorful throw pillows, and a telephone. Adding additional sleeping space, the seating in the living room can transform into a queen-size bed. Bring a laptop and enjoy free WiFi internet access. Guests that ch...oose to rent a car can enjoy on-site parking for $10/day+ tax.
The kitchen features cherry colored cabinets and handsome granite countertops. That, coupled with the stainless steel appliances (double sink, microwave, range, and dishwasher) creates a striking combination. It's not hard to understand why many travelers never get around to using the available gas grill. The bathroom in the unit is no less contemporary than the rest of the space, featuring elegant glass shower stalls. You can watch television on one of three flat screen TVs located in the living room and both bedrooms. There is DVD capability as well.
Other noteworthy pieces of information include that there is a washer/dryer unit off of the kitchen for all of your laundering needs, central A/C and ceiling fans for temperature control, and the three pools and Jacuzzi are exclusively used by guests of the resort. Furthermore, the beach is merely steps away.
Though Honua Kai does have it's own deli, restaurant, and floating river pool, if you want to spend some time outside the complex think about the following. There are unbelievable amounts of restaurants available for sampling, featuring marvelous and varied cuisines from across the globe. Lessons are available for surfing, ocean rafting, sport fishing, scuba diving, and even hula dancing! For a more culture focused traveler, there are many museums and walking tours available.Read more

We were very happy with this condo! Location was great, we had plenty of space (2 adults, 2 kids) and the W/D was convenient to have. Much better than a hotel at a much better price! Great snorkeling at the beach just south of the resort!

Konea #229 was perfect for our families. 2 grandsons under 10, their parents, and us, the grandparents. There was plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. The lanai is spectacular in this unit! The only negative was not with the condo, but with the garbage situation on our floor. It was terrible, and something Honua Kai should correct. On the domestic side, there were plenty of towels, the bathrooms were fantastic, and the kitchen was beautiful We would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a beautiful vacation in Maui. Chase'N Rainbows gave us great service, and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Our younger son and his family will be staying in Maui over Christmas, and they are going through Chase 'N Rainbows on our recommendation.

Enjoyable and clean. Room location is convenient to the elevators off the resort lobby. Keyless entry is an a++! Amazing oversized deck which overlooks the grounds. Floor plan is spacious and easily accommodated 4 adults and 2 children. If you are looking for a complete ocean view, I'd suggest staying on the 3rd floor or higher. Nice pools with easy access to the beach. Was not overly impressed by Dukes and their poolside service was subpar. We preferred to cook in & the BBQ grounds = A+.

We stayed in Unit #229 at Honau Kai. The unit was very clean, had everything we needed, and an a great view. We booked through Chase 'N Rainbows. Would book through them again as you know what you are getting. Was able to book the unit we wanted and could see photos of the actual unit.
We have 2 kids (ages 6 and 8). Pools were great for kids that age. They loved the slide. We signed them up for the kids club one day and they had a lot of fun.

Maui is perfect for our family vacations. We've been many times and this was our first time staying at Honua Kai. We will be back! The property was new, well manicured and comfortable. Perfect for our needs. With kids staying in a condo is a must. Kitchen was great and allowed us to eat most meals (outside of dinner... who wants to cook on vacation?) from our condo anytime we wanted. They also offered many stainless bbq's which were spotless. The property is located by many nearby grocery stores... one within walking distance. Washer and dryer in the unit made packing lighter more practical. Perhaps the only drawback were the pools which were really configured for younger kids ... Nothing really deep or more adult which would have fit our needs better. Designating a pool for adults only is needed. This unit had great views of the grounds and ocean but was away from the ocean so we couldn't hear the waves. We'll look for a unit closer to the ocean for our next trip. Chasing Rainbows is awesome! They made everything so simple booking all our activities in addition to our condo. They were easy to reach, polite, informative and offered a high level of customer service. Hard to find these days. We plan to return in 2014 to celebrate our daughters college graduation.
The service we received was friendly, prompt, and helpful. The condo was clean, beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and well equipped. Honua Kai is not far from groceries, drug stores, doctor on call, the pools are amazing, Dukes on the Beach is a great place to eat lunch or dinner and right on the beach. The thing we loved the most is the large lanai which has a wonderful view and allowed the wonderful Hawaiian Breeze to come through the condo when the doors are open. We had them open all the time.

This was the perfect unit for our family vacation. There was plenty of room for all of us (2 adults and 3 children). The grounds were pretty and the pools were lots of fun. We especially enjoyed the water slide. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for preparing our meals. The view from the kitchen, living room, and lanai was fantastic. We can't wait until we can return!!!

We are a family of four that stayed in Honua Kai Konea building #229. We had a slight problem when we checked in as we were given the wrong code for the keyless entry. A quick call to the management company and they gave us the correct code. The condo is as described, updated and clean. The lanai is oversized and has a great view. However during our stay we kept noticing cigarette butts were being thrown down from lanais above us. Disgusting! It was also surprising as we thought there was a no smoking policy. All in all it was a great condo, quiet and beautiful with a beautiful view. Read more
Aloha and Mahalo for the time you took to post this review. I feel bad that you had to deal with cigarette butts been thrown down from the condo above. I can tell you that it is a HI State law that prohibits smoking in the condo and on the lanai. So If we had been notified we would have taken immediate action to contact the security team at The Honua Kai Resort & Spa. We hope you come back to Chase 'N Rainbows and Honua Kai to take advance of our Repeat Guest Discount program.

We are from Montreal Canada; let me say a few words in french. Nous nous attendions à une très belle place mais nous avons eu la surprise de constater que cette place est encore mieux que ce dont on s'attendait.

A fantastic condo with an oversized balcony with a great ocean view. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. The location is just north of the main Ka anapali resort area and is litlle more laid back. The Resort pools, hot tubs and beach access were beatifully maintained.

The condo was great. Loved the location. The only thing lacking was basic kitchen supplies like salt, pepper, sugar, etc. Do not expect there to be anything. Also, many of the other condos has boogie boards for the kids. We left some in the closet and hopefuilly the owners will leave them there. I also disagree with a previous renter who said that the lanai was private - not so.

Our room was fantastic! Plenty of room, comfortable beds and great view of property! Easy access to property and beach. Very close to Lahaina, grocery store right across the street and a great little surprise in the next town North (Honokawai)with a fun farmers Market (M,W&F;)with lots of fresh fruit for sampling and plenty of other things!
Honua Kai is a beautiful resort in the perfect location! The only suggestion I would have is that maybe one sunning/pool area be adult only. There were times we couldn't escape the screaming, crying, running and pool toys. Difficult to relax, read, or even at times have a conversation. I think the area by the Konea Tower with the landings for lawn chairs in water be adult only, leaving the bigger pools for the kiddos. Other than that...outstanding! We will return!
