everything was great. I do have one minor complaint: there was no wifi in the condo. It never occurred to me there wouldn't be and I was surprised. disregarding opinions on whether it's important to disconnect from work during vacation :) we would have found it very useful to be able to upload pictures, research places to go, make reservations, etc. had there been wifi available in the condo. I will definitely check before booking the same condo again and I'd be unlikely to book at Holoani again unless there was wifi available. other than that, the place was awesome

This is our fourth trip to Maui and each time we have stayed at Hololani, this unit was our most undesirable of all visits...small bathroom,ants in kitchen, rug hadn't been stretched so each room had a raised roll of rug, kitchen knives were rusted and dull, had to purchase ice because the ice maker didn't keep up, last but not least, we both felt like we were in a fish bowl when we are inside the unit, had to close the window coverings for privacy, would rather have looked at the ocean not Unit A guests.
Unfriendly maid service.

Clean, close to ocean and turtles swimming out front at dusk. Condo needs to feel more like a home and less like a hotel suite. No kitchen condiments makes for limited cooking and needs some beach chairs or mats. Would go back if choices were same.

-Checkin/out very good and trouble free
-Unit was in excellent condition and very clean
-View is exceptional
-No direct access to ocean and adjacent beach areas was very disappointing and became problematic when trying to bring surf boards to the water
-Areas for improvement...
-Wi-Fi has poor coverage - only able to connect on or near the Lanai and even there it would still cut out unexpectedly - Wi-Fi is slow when it does work - A dedicated internet connection per unit would be a tremendous improvement
-Pocket doors rattle all night long when the windows are open and with no a/c there is no alternative to leaving the windows open
-TVs are old and have no HDMI connection for external devices -

We were very happy with our stay at Hololani B603. What a relaxing trip! We loved sitting on the lanai each morning, looking out at Molokai, and listening to the waves as we fell asleep at night. I definitely recommend the B units because the lanai is shaded each afternoon so you can sit and read and watch the sea turtles without hiding behind shades like the A building. Our unit had everything we needed, including a little library of books which we enjoyed. The pocket doors were a bit odd to us, and they rattled in the breeze at night, so we left them open. (That wouldn't work if you had guests using the sleeper sofa, I suppose). The sliding doors in the second bedroom just led out to the public hallway, so we usually left them locked and the curtains closed. I didn't mind the lack of beach out front since we drove to beaches each day and the small beach made the ocean all the closer to our room. From the kitchen, it looked like we were on a cruise ship since all you could see was the sea. I was a bit worried that the lack of AC would be a problem in August, but the breezes and fans were more than ample to keep things comfortable. You wouldn't have wanted to close the lanai doors anyway since you couldn't hear the surf.
Don't miss the beach and Gazebo restaurant (white chocolate macadamia nut pancakes!) at Napili, just a few minutes away. We also recommend the road to Hana and sunrise at Haleakala, but we stayed in central Maui when we visited them.
Parking under the building was very convenient and we used the complimentary cooler every day. The only improvement I could recommend would be WiFi since we could only get it from one spot on the lanai. Having boogie boards to borrow would have been helpful too. Overall, a wonderful, incredibly relaxing, home away from home. -

We loved the Hololani! I have stayed there before and enjoyed it just as much the second time around. I did miss Marcia though. She is so warm and friendly and really understands hospitality. You should hire her back! I will return again, hopefully next year and have told friends about the Hololani. The only negative was the woman directly next door seemed to be running some type of day care facility with very loud children yelling all day. It was very noisy but only coming from that unit. I didn't know that kind of thing was allowed so as much as we loved B-603, we will probably request a different unit the next time to avoid all of the noise from the day care. Thank you for a wonderful experience! Also, the housekeeping staff is excellent and very friendly. The unit was spotless, clean and beautiful! The pool area was very nice too and well taken care of. The property has been nicely managed. You just need Marcia back! She's the reason why I booked there again but I found out she was gone when I arrived. Thank you again!

We had a very nice stay at Hololani. The view was great and the unit was clean and spacious. The only downside was the noise from the pool area. Even though we were on the sixth floor, it sounded as if we were right next to the pool.

We had a wonderful vacation with friends who had never been to Hawaii. Other than the mix up with unit being locked upon our late arrival, which was rectified fairly quickly, the condo was great. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms it was a good accommodation for us as couples. We enjoyed sitting on lanai watching whales, even had a turtle lie on beach by condo sunning itself. We would like to come back sometime.

We owned a unit in the 80's and have always loved Hololani. We know the issues that come with having a unit in the rental pool. It is nice to see that some of the units have been remodled and updated. We are somewhat concerned with the stairs to the beach. It is unfortunate that nature has played havoc with the beach but feel these stairs are not that safe. We will always come back to Hololani!

We have stayed in many of the Hololani condo's during all our vaca's to Maui. There are units that are exceptionally nice-others need work or are not updated. Wish there were more choices, but many are already rented even if inquiring 1 yr. ahead, and several have sold. Overall, the Hololani is always our first phone call.

We loved the view from the large balcony, however there is absolutely NO privacy - Other units look directly into the living room and bedroom. There had been a leak in the unit above us, so workers were in and out for the first two days. We were surprised with the lack of safe walkways in the neighborhood. There are no street lights, and if you want to walk after dark (or anytime), you have to walk in the street. We found "less than desireables" hanging around the area as well, and were confronted as we entered the elevator one evening. We didn't feel safe, even with the underground, leaking parking garage.

The view from Hololani is incredible. Great location where you can stay put and just enjoy the beach in front of the condo. Other beaches, restaurants and stores are nearby. We enjoyed the McDonald's on the corner for quick, easy lunches to take back and eat on our lanai with the beautiful view. Third time staying at Hololani and it won't be our last.

The website pictures clearly shows a large beach along the entire front of the condo. The beach does not exist and you need to change you website picture. This is clearly false advertising.
The dishwasher, blender and coffee pot did not work in our condo. The ice maker in the refrigerator was rusted and we couldn't use the ice because it had rust all over the ice. These should be checked before guests arrive. -

Experiencing Maui while at the Hololani is like heaven on earth! You get to go to sleep to the sound of the surf and wake up to the tropical birds with the fragrance of the plumeria trees and fresh limes in the air. The sunsets are spectacular! We saw a rainbow every day! Kahana beach is wonderful to swim in and beautiful to walk. I have been visiting Maui over the past 35 years and have stayed at the Hololani many times. I consider it my Maui home and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.
My only complaint about our unit this visit was the mattress in the beach side bedroom was extremely firm! We had to qput extra blankets on top of it to try and cushion it. -

I was concerned that we would be uncomfortable because there is no air conditioning in the unit, but it was not a problem at all. The view was great! The beach in front of the building is small (completely gone at high tide). We usually drove to restaurants and activities in Kaanapali or Napili, but free parking made that easy. This was an excellent value for the price.

Great condo with a fabulous view of Molokai across the water and wonderful views of the sunset each night. Good location and not extremely busy like the major resorts. If you want action, you can drive to Front Street!

We were able to whale watch from the lanai and the view in general was fantastic. Due to this being a smaller resort the noise level is very minimal!! This is my second stay at this resort and look forward to staying again.

This resort is wonderful- quiet and peaceful. We watched whales and sea turtles everyday from our lanai. Parking is a bit tight if you have a big vehicle and are parked beside another big vehicle. But the manager was very helpful in moving our parking spot to make it easier for us. Would definitely stay here again.

A tremendous location to behold God's creation...Whatever your interest may be (snorkeling,diving, swimming, walking, hiking,etc), it's all there. Just staying in the unit enjoying the sunrise and the sunset is a thrill and draws one closer to God if you are a seeker.

B603 was very up to date but needs some minor repairs. We appreciated not having the afternoon sun that A building gets. The proximity to petrol, convenience store, restaurants, etc was excellent without having the large crowds found at Ka'anapali. Short drives to Honolua, Kapalani, Napili, Ka'anapali, and Lahaina. Excellent management. Wonderful bargain for our group of 22.

My sister's first time in Maui and I surprised her by bringing her to the Hololani. She was amazed the moment she walked through the door. We saw whales off the lani each morning as we sipped Kona Coffee and eat fresh fruit from the market. This is a beautiful unit and we will return. Mahalo
