Description from the manager

An unsurpassed oceanfront location with fantastic direct sunset views in the summer. Add palm trees and Molokai as a backdrop and spectacular is how you would describe the ocean setting from the lanai in this home away from home. There is luxury with a very home like feel with Koa, Mango and Cherry woodwork in remodeled kitchen and newly remodeled bathrooms. New ceiling fans, furnishings and natural woods throughout. Excellent combination of view and privacy. Some shade and unique orientation protect from the heat and glare of the afternoon sun on the water. The perfect place for a great and memorable vacation.

      Heavenly Retreat

Left on 05/23/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We very much enjoyed our eleven days at Kahana Village. The setting is perfect -- right on the ocean, near Lahaina and other attractions, but far enough away to be tranquil. We loved sitting on our lanai relaxing, enjoying breakfast or lunch, or reading. Furnishings in #32 were very comfortable and we used the kitchen and its well-appointed supply of gadgets and equipment frequently. Kahana Village's resort manager, Vicki Betts, is a jewel. It's almost worth a visit just to see her again.

Beautiful unit. Everything was great except the bed in the loft. We had to sleep there since our guests used the master bedroom. The bed is substandard and for someone with chronic back issues it was unacceptable. I thas a poor mattress and no supporting spring under the mattress.

      Relaxing

Left on 03/18/2013 for a stay in January 2013

32 is an average unit. The original kitchen, does have granite counters. Safety bars in the bathrooms would be benefical in all units.
The downstairs bath doesn't have very good lighting. Also there are so many remotes one doesn't know what to use. Get one simple one to run the TV. Mike had to come by several times to help.

We like the location of 32.

We enjoy Kahana Village and have stayed here for over 20 years. The office people are wonderful, house keeping and Jeff are so helpful. Thank you all

Mostly restful with a beautiful view

Left on 03/16/2012 for a stay in February 2012

We have stayed at Kahana Village four times and our stay this year at Unit 32 was a first. It is a second floor, 2 bedroom unit which is a perfect size.
As usual the service and reception to Kahana Village was perfect. Our interaction with Harmony and Vicky is always positive and personable. They are very accommodating and helpful.
The location of Kahana is separate enough from the busy Lahaina downtown and yet close enough to restaurants and stores that it serves us well.
We love the grounds at Kahana Village and the addition of the outdoor seating area in the garden is a really pleasant touch. There is constant attention to the grounds and it shows. From our lanai we sat and watched the whale activity. It cannot be beat. Why pay for a whale watching cruise when you can enjoy the activity from your own seat. We could watch it all day.
Our complaints are few but consistant. We are non-smokers and those who enjoy this habit are directed to their lanai to smoke. Unfortuately the wonderful breezes we enjoy also direct the cigarette and cigar smoke up and into our lanai and unit. We wish there was a way to oblige the smokers while allowing non-smokers clean air to breath. Another project the staff can tackle is the encouragement of their visitors to carefully close the doors to their units. We were aware of each guests coming and going from the unit below ours. The doors close easily and are in fact helped along by the winds fromt he ocean. There are friendly signs reminding guests to remove their shoes while in the unit. Perhaps an equally pleasing message can be left reminding guests to carefully close their doors. A minor complaint, I know, but a most annoying one when six people are opening and slamming the door all day long.
We look forward to our stay at Kahana Village next year. Obviously the positives of Kahana Village far outweight the negatives. Mahala

Staying at Kahana Village is wonderful. The office staff and housekeeping staff are very helpful and make our time relaxing. Our only complaint was noisy inconsiderate people below and they also weren't thoughtful at the pool. Also, a gentleman had all 3 Bbq's going and no one else could use them. This happened only once right before we came back to the main land. It is easy so share which most of us do and consider other people are there just like us

      Great beachfront location

Left on 01/12/2012 for a stay in January 2012

Kahana Village is fantastic -- it's a nice, quiet, smaller complex with a great location. We stayed in two different units, both deluxe oceanfront corner units. 35 was more recently updated, less cluttered, and better appointed. 32 was a little bit too 1980s palm and pineapple-themed for my taste, and it had very thick carpeting throughout -- which I don't think is the best floor covering for a tropical, beachfront location (35 had tile in the living areas, carpeting upstairs).
Overall, I would definitely choose Kahana Village again -- it's very close to Napili, Kapalua, and Kaanipali beaches, and its own beach is small but certainly fine for swimming.

Kahana Village was the perfect location to accomplish getting away as a family with our adult children. It afforded us plenty of space, lovely views, great amenities and luxury accomodaiton. Their attentiveness to the facility is evident and the friendliness of the staff is also a plus. The location was perfect. You really feel that you are away from the commercialism of some other parts of Maui. Not to be missed though, Maui Brewing, right around the corner. Great brew but even better food. Good value.

Left on 10/05/2011 for a stay in September 2011

We stayed in unit 32 at Kahana Village for a week while visiting Maui with another couple. What a beautiful and fantastic place to stay! The unit was every bit as beautiful as the pictures and very well stocked and maintained. The view is amazing! The grounds are gorgeous and were maintained better than some of the bigger resort complexes. I think I took more pictures of the flowers and plants at Kahana village than anywhere else on Maui! All the people working there were very pleasant and helpful including the workers working on the lanai's. That didn't bother us at all. Mike and Vicky were wonderful hosts and the Mai Tai party on Wednesday night was fun and well attended. I would highly recommend Kahana Village and especially to stay in unit 32! We can't wait to come back!

It all began with Harmony, who is the reservationist. She was so pleasant to talk with and provided the information we needed to make the decision to vacation at Lahana Village.
We were looking for a place where it was not too busy since we had our grandchildren with us as well as right on the beach. It was all we expected and more.

Unit 32 is in need of some TLC

Left on 04/06/2011 for a stay in March 2011

Unit 32 seemed very nice at first. But as we started using the facility we noticed sub standard on just about everything. While the granit in the kitchen and vanity was nice this unit is far from luxury relative to other luxury units we have stayed in at Kahana. Normally I would just not rent this unit again but since you asked I will provide some feedback on items that should be upgraded or corrected. The bed the master room is of low quality; there is no privacy lock into the master bedroom; the pillows are of inferior quality; the blinds have broken strings and do not function right. The deck need improving. The doors to the deck, both screens & both glass doors needed repairing during our stay. The kitchen knives are all dull and no means to sharpen them. The dishes are something that one would find at a second hand store. The tiolet in the upstairs bathroom cycles to refill the tank. The fabrics on the living furniture seems outdated and old. The coutch is very old and worn out. The refrigerator leans to one side.

Thank you so much for a fabulous stay. Unit 32 was beautiful. We were impressed with the grounds, the condo, the view and the service. Staff was friendly and helpful. No disappointments. Perfect place to stay if you prefer a quiet location away from the crowds but still close to restaurants and adventures. Wish I was sitting on the balcony right now with a tropical breeze, listening to the waves crashing on the shore, watching the rainbow over Molokai.

      Kahana Village Unit 32

Left on 08/13/2010 for a stay in July 2010

My family and I stayed in unit 32 for a week in July. We really liked the furnishings and decor. Great view of Molokai. It was awesome waking up every morning and having the water and island to greet you. We knew that this unit only had a/C in the bedroom when we rented it but being from the humid midwest I the heat of the afternoon sun made it a little bit uncomfortable. If this unit had central a/C it would have been more comfortable. To be fair none of the other units except for a 3BR unit have a/C which is why we booked this one with the a/C in the bedroom. We probably would not have stayed here if we would not have at least had that. The grounds are immaculately kept. The pool is nice but only 3 feet deep so it's good for kids but not really an adult friendly pool. The beach is okay but not great. It is not a beach that the kids can easily play on due to it is sloped into the water. The beach on the side where unit 32 is virtually nonexistent and very rocky. The management (especially Harmony) is very attentive to your needs. Whenever we needed something she went right to work on helping us with it. The only real problem we had with the unit was that the clothes dryer did not work well. Sometimes we had to dry towels 2 or 3 times before they were done. We reported this problem and the response was that because it was such a small dryer it did not dry very well. But coincidentally when we left Maui and went to the Big Island our condo there had exactly the same dryer and worked fine. The management throws a Mai Tai party on Wednesday evenings which is kind of a socializing event. It was very nice and they made the best Mai Tais we had on our trip. Overall Kahana Village and unit 32 were good but we probably would not stay there again because of no a/C, the small pool, and not a very good beach. For the price we paid you can probably find something with all of this for the same amount.

The condo itself was gorgeous. Both bathrooms and the kitchen have been newly remodeled with granite counters. The furniture was in great condition and very comfortable. A relaxing home away from home at Kahana Village Unit #32

Left on 05/06/2010 for a stay in April 2010

The staff at Kahana Village is so friendly, helpful and makes a fantastic mai tai at the weekly mai tai party.
Unit 32 was amazing! Ocean front and great views, we saw whales from the lanai splashing about (bring binoculars to get a closer look). The bathrooms and kitchen are newly updated and look wonderful. It is great that the kitchen is fully stocked with cooking supplies, including spices and storage containers to store leftovers. Stock up at Costco and the Honokowai farmer's market, and enjoy a meal on the lanai while you enjoy the warm ocean breeze.
The furniture includes magical recliners that just invite you to take an afternoon nap in them as the sound of the waves lull you to sleep. There is also a desk if you insisted on bringing your laptop. The wireless connection is convenient, especially if you book activities online (which can sometimes be cheaper). Kahana Village offers free long distance phone calls, what a great service.
The condo grounds are beautifully landscaped in local plants and flowers, including fruit trees. Also available for your use are grills, so you can buy some fresh fish and have a bbq down by the pool. The pool is perfect for younger children, and as a place to cool off and lounge around, since its deepest point is about 4 feet. No waterslides, but give your kids a few dive toys and a mask, and they will be entertained by the turtles and whales on the bottom of the pool.
Kahana Village is about a 10 minute drive to Ka'anapali, and about 15 or so minutes from Lahaina - great food and shopping is not far away at all. But, even if you don't want to make that drive, you can get a high class meal at Roy's which is less than 5 minutes away. Or drive North to Kapalua and enjoy fresh sushi at Sansei's.
We had an unforgettable experience at Kahana Village and can't wait to go back!
      Aloha!

Beautiful property. Plenty of room for husband, I and two adult children ages 19 and 23. We prefer the non-high rise, quiet, less crowded type of place to stay and we were very happy with this location. Beautifully decorated, very comfortable. Wireless internet access great. Having the washer/dryer in the condo was very handy. Managers arranged for us to be able to pick up the key for check in after hours - very easy and very convenient. We actually never used the pool and instead drove to nearby beaches. Excellent snorkeling at Kapalua Bay. Day trips from the condo - hiking, Hana etc - no problem.
Would definitely return to Kahana Village #32 when back in Maui.

      BEST VACATION

Left on 05/06/2009 for a stay in June 2007

The Kahana Village is a slice of heaven. The intimate size was restful. The location was easy to drive to busier places if we so desired. Vickie and her team were all genuinely helpful and friendly. It was like staying at a best friend?s house. I actually just recommended the KV to a friend. I told him the actual property surpassed the pictures and descriptions on the web site. When was the last time that happened? The property is clean, well groomed, and lush gardens. Our unit was clean and fresh on our arrival. #32 looks out over the water. It was the best vacation. All four of us loved it.
The only thing I wish the units had was central air conditioning. We are use to hot weather and it feels good during the day. But at night or late afternoon, it would be nice to have a little cool relief. Our unit had a mildly effective portable A/C in the master bedroom. But it was really a noisy fan and did not cool the room very well.

      Maui Vacation of a Lifetime

Left on 05/04/2009 for a stay in July 2008

We had a onetime opportunity to take our family of five on a Hawaiian Vacation. I did a ton of research on the internet. I was exteremely impressed with the value and luxury of Kahana Village. The website gives full detail and the villa was everything I expected. My daughters, aged 23, 18, & 13 were extremely impressed. My wife could not believe how close we were to the water!

I think this property is as close as you can come to a private vacation home on the water and for the price - you get so much more than the high-rise units have to offer.

I have stayed at nearby properties and it is nearly impossible to this luxury, the extra room & oceanfront - what great slice of paradise!

If we have the chance to return to the island, we would definitely stay at Kahana Village.

Kahana Village is located in the perfect spot to reach anything you could ask for. It is quiet, yet close enough to Lahina to make it a short trip for resturants and shopping. Honolua Bay is located just to the North and provides some of the best snorkleing ever during the summer and best surf for experienced surfers or viewers in the winter.
The staff was excellent! The view is excellent, the island is excellent! Talk about paradise! My only problem is I don't get to go there as often as I'd like, but when I do come to Maui, there is no other place I'd stay! The best to all of you at Kahana Village, keep a light on for me!
