The Puamana complex is a great place to stay! Young families, seniors, and all ages enjoy the amenities and proximity to a nice but small beach.
This particular rental unit was comfortable for our needs, but dark and outdated. We had extremely inconsiderate neighbours to the left--screaming and door slamming at 3am, very loud spin cycle at 1am and more mid-day screaming fits... 3 times over a 10-day stay.
Our friends and relatives had nicer units, but more expensive. The one upside to our place was that despite the reasonable price, we didn't end up with a unit that was so close to the highway which was very loud. Those places looked awful!
If the price is right for you, and you don't mind a few midnight altercations, I would say this place is fine. If you want to pay more for a brighter, more modern place, then move on.

After at least 5 stays in Puamana, this one is the best by far! It is, first off, very, very clean. Important to me because I don't want to scrub the place before I can relax. And extremely private. It is located towards the back of the property, but not backing up to the road. The Mountain Pool is just beyond a hedge. You would think noisy, right? No, hardly anyone ever there! The owners are wonderful to deal with. Puamana itself is lovely and gated. Old Hawaii. Don't miss this great opportunity for an affordable, relaxing and charming place to stay on the lovely island of Maui!

This was our second time to stay at Puamana and will hopefully be back again! We loved the relaxing pool by the ocean, the mature and well-manicured landscaping, and the soothing and quiet location. Incredibly glorious sunsets from the clubhouse lawn. Enjoyed the nice brisk walk into Lahaina in the evenings. The only downside was that the gate code didn't seem to work so it was difficult to get it. However, someone eventually came behind us with a card key that opened the gate.

This was a great vacation home for my family. The property itself is located on
a quite private complex which we loved especially with our 2 year old son. We
also loved the fact that the Puamana Resort was within walking distance (10-
15 mins) to all of the restaurants and shops along Front Street. The pool
facilities were great too!!
The vacation home itself was a little dated and may need to be updated soon
but other than that we loved our home away from home. When we return to
Lahaina one day (soon I hope), we will definitely be staying at the Puamana
Resort. -

Whalers Realty was incredibly helpful, especially Tess who gave me excellent service.
I rented the condo for my parents to stay when they came out for my wedding, they absolutely loved their experience at Puamana. The amenities are superb, love the ocean pool, the grass, the spaciousness and the peace.
Thankyou so much Tess for being so helpful and nice, it was truly appreciated. We shall definitely recommend Puamana and Whalers Realty to other friends and family who come to Maui to visit.

My husband and I stayed at Puamana in early December. We were lucky enough to know someone who knew the owner of this unit or we would never have known about it. I want to say that we found the unit clean, comfortable and very welcoming and home like. It was a great place to land at the end of the day at the beach. We do not golf or play tennis or even swim in the pool, but we did see that all of that was available to those who wanted to partake and they looked fabulous. We just like to go to the beaches and swim, come home eat and have a drink and watch the sun set. We plan on staying in the same unit for years to come.........We would recommend this unit to any couple who wanted a home away from home on Maui. Again Mahalo Nua Loa..........A.S. Bend, OR

Great location and layout for small kids (all on one
level). Perfect access to pool and very close to
the ocean. Very quiet at night (no highway noise).
Pluses: laundry in unit, 2 full baths, large fridge,
old but dependable stove/range, very large lanai,
lots of cable channels on TV
Minuses: carpeted; would have preferred tile floor
throughout for ease of cleaning and
moisture/dampness, no Internet connection, fold-
out bed is very lumpy; would have preferred a
futon.
