Located in the neighborhood of Twin Peaks, it is only a 5 minute drive to Lake Arrowhead and a 10 minute drive to Lake Gregory. Located close to the National Forest there a plenty of hiking trails and mountain wilderness to explore. Five of us wanted to stay in the mountains, not far from home for a couple of days. We had a fantastic time at the Double D Lodge. The accomodations were fantastic. The kitchen was beautiful and fully stocked. There was even a wine refrigerator. We used the Blue-Ray dvd player and watched movies on the big screen flat TV. The lodge was spacious with living quarters on three levels. We cooked our own meals and enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen (pots, pants, dishes, silverware, etc). Loved the wine glasses! We enjoyed the fireplace and were impressed that wood was also provided. We would defintely stay again. There was plenty of bedding and towels provided.

My friends and I wanted to get away from the corporate world of San Francisco and go on a mini vacation. It was worth it! The place was big enough for the seven of us. we loved the sound system around the whole house. we also love the kitchen! we had like three different cooks in the kitchen and it was nice to have that big amount of space. Ha and we definitely enjoyed the games in the cupboard. We felt like we were back in our youth! Thank you for having us!

Loved it! Had a great time staying in this clean and fun cabin, during Memorial weekend. The cabin is perfect for kids. On the top floor there is a loft with a small door that leads into a room with a tv and beanbags, a private room for the kids. And on the ground level there is a giant checkerboard, a Bocce court, and a bar for adult entertainment. In the evenings we all helped prepare a nice dinner in fully loaded kitchen. And the clean-up was easy, with two dishwashers. We'll be back.

The Double D Lodge was perfect for our trip. We loved the large kitchen and 2 dishwashers...we love to cook and this kitchen had everything we needed. One night we walked to The Grill at the antler Inn...this restaurant is great and only a short walk or drive from the cabin. We also enjoyed playing bocce ball in the backyard and hanging out in the "Tiki Bar” in the backyard. The owners spared no details with 3 flat screen Tv's and speakers in the ceilings throughout all 3 levels that were connected to the iPod docking station for us to play our favorite music. The next time we return to Lake arrowhead, we will definitely being staying at the Double D Lodge again!

The Double D Lodge is a 5 star across the board. Everything is here for a relaxing time with nature. Has all of the ammenities to stay connected, with the luxury of a high class hotel. What a beautiful getaway from everyday life and only a 90min drive.

We escaped the Orange County June gloom for a weekend to the Double D. From the moment we arrived we knew the cabin had a lot of time and care invested in it. You're close to all sorts of great hiking and activities, Lake Gregory, and of course downtown arrowhead, but we could have been happy just hanging out in the cabin all weekend... Everything is done up, top-notch. A sound system that goes throughout the whole house, sleek entertainment center, newly remodeled kitchen (we spent a lot of time cooking because we love to), comfy furniture, Tiki bar with horseshoe/bocce court adjacent--we made a killer tri-tip on the BBQ before spending an entire evening just enjoying drinks at the bar and pitchin' bocce. Yep, good times. We will definitely be back for another visit.

You can stop your search right now. This is the place! My family and I really enjoyed our stay here twice. It is very homey and comfortable. We've stayed both in the summer and winter time. We loved playing bocce ball and horse shoes. Great hiking around and mountain biking, as well as dirtbiking/motorcycle riding. We enjoyed snow skiing in the winter and sitting around the cozy fireplace at night. The house itself is super clean with first class amenities. It lived up to the description and pictures below. You will not be disappointed. The Dunning's were wonderful to work with and we can't wait until our next visit to the Double D Lodge!
