The Blue Jay Retreat is a completely remodeled cabin near Blue Jay Village at Lake Arrowhead. This 3 bedroom, 3 bath cabin includes a custom sauna for relaxing after playing outside. This special retreat has a remodeled kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The deck off the front of the cabin provides incredible views of the surrounding mountains. The deck in the backyard is great for BBQ and relaxing.

The good:
It is beautifully remodeled and very clean.
The three bathrooms are big and have nice amenities.
The kitchen is also nice and is well stocked. I cooked for five days for my family and it had everything I needed.
There were extra blankets and sheets, and the washer and dryer was very nice to have.
Wifi access was nice - big screen tv and two other tvs in the cabin.
The owners are very nice and great with communication.
The not so good:
The driveway is very steep. The first night we got there it was icy and we could not drive up the driveway. We also could barely walk up the driveway it was so icy. All of us fell and we needed to get our belongings to the cabin. We got the bare minimum up to the cabin by inching our way up on our knees. They need to regularly salt this driveway, it is dangerous. The description of the property does say that you may need to walk up - but it is really impassable if there is ice, even walking up is dangerous.
Once you get to the cabin there are three flights of stairs just to get to the front door. Hauling everything up those three flights of stairs was exhausting - and we are an active, in shape family. I can't imagine anyone staying here with a disability. It just would not work.
Once in the cabin there is another set of very steep stairs to the main living area. Luckily we had teenagers who could manage the stairs. Ii would not recommend this cabin to families with little kids. The top of the stairs did not have a way to attach a baby gate. It would have been very dangerous if our kids were small.
We enjoyed staying at this cabin. It is very nice - but it would have been great if the driveway was maintained with salt - and pack light - hauling everything up / back down was tiring.
