Beautiful Lake Arrowhead Retreat with Pool Table!

"Rancho Relaxo" as it is called truly lives up to its name. Located less than 2 hours from Los Angeles is where you'll find this beautiful mountain retreat with its gorgeous lake, fresh air, and tranquil and relaxing atmosphere.

Note: Den downstairs has an adjacent full bath and can be used as a 4th BR. Couch makes out to a bed. The couch in the living room also makes out to a bed. There are also 2 sets of bunk beds in BR #3 for all the little ones.

There is something to do for everybody: Play pool, watch the squirrels play, go bowling in nearby Crestline, see a movie in Blue Jay, take a drive to Big Bear (45 minutes) and go shopp...ing or try the Alpine Slide, bicycle around the lake, have a BBQ, shop at nearby Arrowhead Village, go skiing at Snow Valley or tubing at Snow Drift, play ping pong, shoot some hoops (side patio), have a romantic fire in the living room fireplace or outside on the side patio, go on a hike or walk, go out to dinner at one of the many fine restaurants close by, drive to Lake Gregory (about 15 minutes)for fishing or an afternoon picnic, take a boat ride aboard the Arrowhead Queen in Lake Arrowhead, visit the Children's Museum (Lower Arrowhead Village), go horseback riding (Snow Valley;seasonal) or do nothing and enjoy a cigar on one of the 3 decks!Read more

Additional Location Information

From Los Angeles, take the 10 Fwy. east to the 605. Take the 605 north to the 210 east. After crossing the 215 Fwy, look for the Waterman exit (approx. 2 miles). Sign will also say Crestline/Arrowhead. Turn left (north) on Waterman (Hwy. 18) and proceed up into the mountains approx. 17 miles to the Bluejay Cutoff. Turn left (Daley Canyon Rd.) and go to the first stop sign (.4 mile). Turn left and when you get to the next stop sign (known to locals as the "5 Point Intersection"), make a soft right and you'll now be on Grass Valley Rd. Go past Golf Course Rd., and when you pass Pioneer Rd., turn into the 3rd driveway on the right. You've arrived! Relax and Enjoy!

  Great Family Vacation in a Wonderful Home

  It was a great experience. Everyone enjoyed the house, from the 2 year old kid to the teenagers and even the adults. We did not have to go out to relax and enjoy, everything you need is inside and I mean literally, "everything". We brought a lot of things to use, only to find out that there is no need for them as that house provides everything. There was no dull moment in that house. At the very first night, Don's Pool Room was fully booked, everyone was there, the children and adults are playing pool, and other games inside that room. Later, everyone is all over the big house and formed groups in the living room, bedrooms, and of course Don's Pool Room was always occupied. We were still there but everyone was saying, "let's come back here, I love this house, but next time, let's stay longer."(we just stayed there for 2 nights). The house was sorrounded by snow. It was so beautiful and everyone enjoyed playing. So, in and out of the house gave us joy and relaxation. We wanted to experience the snow, but I chose this house because whether it snows or not, there is always something to do for enjoyment. If it did not snow, the kids could have played basketball outside, and we could relax in the spa, and of course, everyone would love Don's pool inside. One thing I love is the owner, he is very nice, helpful and easy to contact when needed, fortunately, we didn't need anything. Thank you Don. We'll surely come back. Everyone loves your house. We would surely recommend it to everyone.

  I am happy youi all had a nice time and looki forward to you coming back often. I was just there myself this weekend and there was still lots of snow. I'm always looking for ways to improve the home and next time you come up you'll see I have upgraded some of the TV's and other electronics.

  Aptly Named Rancho Relaxo is a Hit with Everyone!

  The name aptly fits - this is the place to go to relax. The two girls (10 and 12) learned how to play pool and hustled the rest of us throughout the weekend. The little local fish pond was a highlight for tad poling, nature watching and a great added attraction to the trip.
  The girls affectionately re-named Rancho Relaxo to "Don's Place," and made it their home for the weekend.
  What a great visit with all we could have wanted... and more!

  Winter Retreat in Beautiful Winter Wonderland

  First of all, I would like to sincerely thank the owner for his kindness, prompt email replies and availability to be reached by phone and answer thoroughly any and all questions we had prior, during and after our trip. He was so very kind from beginning to end.
  
  My family plus another family of 4 and another family friend went up to stay at Rancho Relaxo for two days and two nights. Everyone enjoyed playing pool practically the whole time we were there. We also watched a few movies, roasted marsh mellows at the fireplace. The kitchen had all the appliances (including microwave, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, and a very good coffeemaker, utensils, many dishes and cups, paper towels). Everything in the kitchen was more than adequate. The whole house was also very festively decorated. There was also a nice patio area including a spa and grill outside, but since there was so much snow we never had a chance to use those facilities. But it was nice to know that they were there. The neighborhood was very quiet and the nature unforgettable. Since this place is located in Lake arrowhead, the tap water is delicious. You don't have to bring your own drinking water. All you have to bring is your own food, toiletry, linen, blankets and pillows. There was also a fuzzball table which a few of us played where the pool table was. The game room is very nicely decorated with all sorts of neon lights. When we arrived there, everything was very clean. Everyone was very impressed by how the interior of the house looked like. Plus, we were very happy to find the house nice and warm inside. It was obvious to us that the owner made sure everything was ready before we got there. Anyway, I would love to return and stay there again if I ever get the chance to do so. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Thanks for reading.
