The best that Lake Champlain has to offer! With the lakeside entrance of the Pines cottage just a few feet from the waters of Lake Champlain, this exit from the cottage transports you to some of the best fishing, swimming, and boating on the lake, and our sunsets are to die for!

The "Pines" cottage is one of eight cottages located on a quiet, private dead end road. No through traffic and very little traffic to the last 3 cottages on our access road make the Pines an ideal location for children and pets.

The cottage has approximately 1100 square feet of living space and features two bedrooms with double beds, an enclosed... lakeside porch, an enclosed back porch, and a large combination kitchen, dining, and living area. "The Pines" has a 3/4 bath and sleeps a maximum of 8.

The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen including all common small appliances and includes a microwave oven, dishwasher, gas grill, color TV, satellite, VCR/DVD, washing machine, and dryer.

The cottage has 60 feet of private lake frontage. The depth of the lot is about 200 feet. The cottage rental includes access to a 14 foot aluminum rowboat and peddle boat. The row boat is registered for use with your motor (motor can be rented nearby). There are 2 boat hoists available, with the larger hoist having a capacity of 3600 lbs. A public boat access to the lake is located about 1 mile away.

A 56 ft. common dock is located between and shared by the Pines and the Maples cottages. The beach is a mixture of sand and shale. The water depth increases slowly (about a 1 ft. increase in depth for every 10 feet from shore) making it ideal for children.

Attention fishermen! The Missisquoi Bay features some of the best bass fishing in Lake Champlain and northern pike in excess of 10 lbs have been caught here.

The cottage is located in the southern portion of the Missisquoi bay. Montreal can be reached in about an hour. Golfing is available in Alburg (less than 10 minutes away) and St. Albans (about 20 minutes). Supplies and dining are available in the towns of Swanton (10 minutes), Alburg (10 minutes), St. Albans (20 minutes), and Rouses Point, NY (15 minutes). Burlington, Vermont is to the south about 45 minutes.

Additional Location Information

65 Hance Road, Swanton Vermont is one hour south of Montreal, 45 minutes north of Burlington Vermont. The drive from Boston is 4 hours, 6 hours from new York city.

Rates quoted above are for a base party size of 2. Please add $100 per week for each additional guest. Well behaved pets are permitted in the Pines for an additional $75 per pet per week fee and additional damage deposit may be required.

Also, please note that because our weekly rentals run from Saturday to Saturday, short stays that include a Saturday night are only considered at the "last minute". If you need a short stay that includes a Saturday night, please feel free to contact us and we can refer you to other cottages nearby that don't have have our Saturday night restriction.

  I stayed at this camp/cottage on Lake Champlain over several years from 1996 until we bought property and built on the lake. I incorporated many of the features of this cottage /camp into my current cottage and we are about to add a porch similar to the one facing the lake in this rental cottage. We have fond memories of the porch, wonderful sunsets, great fishing and relaxing lifestyle associated with this rental. Leisa and Ed who own it are great hosts and fun people.
