Myself my husband and 2 girls really enjoyed our holiday in this lovely appartment, it had everything we needed and was spotless. Julie and barry were very friendly. We loved the view from the balcony loved the fireworks on new years eve which we watched from the balcony.Supermarket down the road is very good and nice places to eat near by too. The bus and ferry service is good.We hired a car and drove to switzerland across the alps, what a drive, that was the highlight of our holiday for all of us plenty of snow and breathtaking views. Watch out for prices in restaurants in switzerland one we went too so expensive.

Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We were looked after very well by the owners. Barrie very kindly booked a fantastic restaurant for us. The flat is in a great location. It is about 10 minutes walk from the boat stop at Lenno so it is very easy to explore the central lake. Lenno is a peaceful place to stay with good restaurants and stunning views. We have recommended this village and flat to our friends. Lake Como is one of the most beautiful places we have visited and we hope to return one day. The flat was very clean and well appointed. It has stunning views over the lake and is on a walking route that means you can avoid traffic as you walk to Lenno.

Great hosts Julie and Barrie, who booked us excellent restaurant in Brenno (twice during our stay).
Not far from Lenno you can find Como, Milano, Lugano etc
also you can travel by ship on the lake Como.

My wife and I traveled Via the Swiss alps to Lago di Como. Our week in the village of Lenno was so beautiful and relaxing. Just a short trip to the Casino in Switzerland where we did quite well and paid for the whole trip.
Barrie and Julie made us feel right at home, you will find the villa clean as a whistle. Just a short walk up the road to local market where you can buy fresh seafood and local veggies... not to mention the deli with Italian cheese, pasta and other local treats.
We have traveled all over the world but never felt as safe as we did in Lenno. If you close a club at 2 am and walk home... then it's all good, no worries about crime.
Look forward to heading back over to Lago di Como and see Barrie and Julie.

WiltshireGood mid-lake location
Left on 10/04/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We enjoyed a good week here. The apartment was very clean and comfortable with freezer and dishwasher, shower and large comfortable beds. Nice view of the lake from the balcony.
Ferry terminal is a 10 min walk giving good access to the main tourists towns of Tremezzo, Bellagio and Menaggio.
A day pass for the mid-lake ferries is good value at 15 Euros. Bus transport is also good. The C10 bus stops virtually outside the apartment running along the lake.
The apartment is well placed for taking advantage of walks in the area. The Greenway path, a 11km lake walk, runs past the apartment going 7km up towards Menaggio and approx 4km south to Ossuccio. There are quite a few walks out of Menaggio and also a good 3 hour walk from Pigra through woodland and villages with high views of Lake Como.
There are a couple of local churches that are worth a visit including Santuario Madonna del Soccurso with several chapels on the way.
Restaurants / cafes around the apartment are very good with many next to the lake. Our favourite was Crotto La Sorgente which is a 15min walk up the hill on the way to the Santuario Madonna del Soccurso.
It's also possible to do bus and train day trips to Milan and bus to Lake Lugano in Switzerland.
The apartment is a good base from which to explore Lake Como and further. The owner is very helpful with suggestions of where to visit / eat. -

Left on 09/15/2012 for a stay in September 2012
I have stayed in Bellagio 3 times previously and ridiculously never discovered Lenno... It is by far the nicest place as many of the other places like Bellagio and Tremezzo are pretty touristy. Lenno is so peaceful and calm and when you arrive on the boat you really feel like you are coming home.
The apartment was great. The view is really good and we had no problems except it is a pity the noise of the road is so loud from the main bedroom. We had to keep our windows shut and have the fan on because of this. However it did not spoil the hol and I would return to the same apartment.

Owners extremely helpful and accommodating. Apartment in very good location, car not essential. We felt the apartment could do with air conditioning. Fans were provided but it was still extremely hot during our stay. The double room faces onto the road and this can be quite noisy at night, if you have the windows open. Apartment has a fantastic view of the lake - best in the block.

Hi Sally,
Many thanks for your kind words, glad you enjoyed your stay and the view! Last week was the hottest in 6 years of us living in Italy with temperatures into the 40's! I agree it was very hot and not at all like the usual lake weather of a summer.
Only a handful of homes (USA owned) have air con where owners live with aircon 365 days a year, here on the lake it is never normally required and hence doors closed there are no issues with road noise. eg See all reviews below.

Left on 08/15/2012 for a stay in August 2012
The apartment was exactly what was advertised and better; the pictures do not do it justice. The view takes your breath away.
Lenno is a charming location, very relaxing with an excellent choice of places to eat. The lido is great for lying in the sun or enjoying a cocktail(or two) in the evening. There are a number of small shingle beaches within easy walking distance from the apartment for swimming in the lake or just sitting and reading in the sun. A perfect location for catching the ferry to other parts of the lake but lovely to come back to after a busy day of sight-seeing. We only used the hire car once in the whole week. We recommend this apartment without reservations and would love to return for another holiday.

Have stayed in Lenno several times in the past but this is the best accomodation we have had so far. A modern, spacious, comfortable, clean apartment with a view of the lake that you can never tire of. Close to all amenities i.e shops, bus stops fery terminals We had a car but only used it once during the week for a drive up the Maloja Pass to St Moritz. Stunning scenery! The aprtmet below is for sale and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we are thinking of buying it! Anyway, failing that we will be returning to this one sooner rather than later. Can't say enough about hosts Barrie and Julie. So friendly and helpful and always available should there be anything you wanted. Thanks to you both will keep in touch.

We used the pool at Managgio, I have never been to such a clean pool with stunning views all around.Â

Arrived to a warm welcome. The apartment was fantastic, it had everything you would need for a comfortable stay.
Great view of the lake with a nice balcony to sit and drink prosecco and a good kitchen for creating culinary delights.
It's just a 10 minute stroll to the ferry dock which takes you to all the main spots on the lake and there are a couple of nice little restaurants by the water to sit and relax.
If you are looking for a great place to relax and enjoy the peace of the lake we thought this was definately the best place to be to explore. Lenno is perhaps not as well known as the other towns like Bellagio but allows to to escape the crowds and has its own attractions like the villa balbianello in town.
Thanks for great week! -

Left on 12/23/2011 for a stay in December 2011
What a fabulous time we had, the weather was very kind for December!
The apartment is lovely, modern but comfortable and well equipped, we cooked all but one night. The bed was really comfortable and generally the standard of the apartment was high. There is a little shingle beach down the side of the apartment and it's so tranquil at this time of year listening to the waves of the lake as they splash against the shore. we ate breakfast on the balcony each morning as the sun came beating down..amazing really for December!
The super market is a few minutes from the apartment and has most things that you need, great local fresh produce and really good cuts of meat. If you don't take a bag to carry things you will be charged for them much like here.
we walked the "greenway di lago" trail and it was so nice to get to see other parts of the lake from higher up, it's very steep in places you need walking boots and a drink! Wouldn't recommend with a pushchair as I found it hard on foot with just myself to push along!
The buses are easy to use and you can buy tickets from the local shop.
We can't rate it highly enough, Barrie and Julie were really helpful giving us the low down on the local area and advising the times for shops opening as it was getting close to xmas and Sunday opening hours, strange I know in the world of 24 hour opening here but shops in Italy still close 1 day a week
great Tuesday market full of the usual stuff..and cheese and meats, local produce it was lovely!
we used the local ferry and this was a quick way to travel, but expensive for a 1 way journey €11.60 for 2 people ..buses are much cheaper around €3 for a return all the way to Como. Trains were very cheap, and remarkably easy to use. Most people do speak English but they love it if you try..even if you get it a little wrong!
If you have never been but always wanted to go,dont hang around get to it, we are already booking up for next year as it was so great.

Left on 09/07/2011 for a stay in August 2011
The beauty of Lake Como is outstanding. The apartment offered a wonderful view overlooking the lake. Each morning we had breakfast on the balcony facing the most spectacular scenery. At night we watched the sun set and the lights come on in the villages across the lake.
A nearby lane provides access to the lake shore for swimmimg. The Greenway walk provides access to the hidden parts of Lenno and nearby villages. The boats on the lake provide access to all the surrounding towns, that combined with the local bus service make a car unnecessary. Food was fantastic - try pizza in Ristorante Ranch Lenno, and ice-cream at Helvetica in nearby Tremezzo.
The apartment was well equipped, clean, comfortable, and an ideal base for a great holiday. -

Left on 09/07/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We spend 10 extremely relaxing and pleasant days at Lake Como with family of 2 adults and 2 little girls. The apartment in Lenno was comfortable, well-equipped, clean, and had a spectacular lake view. The view was amazingly beautiful! It was a wonderful start for a day to enjoy the breakfast at the balcony, and a good end to sum up experiences of the day by having some red wine at the balconyt as night darkened.
The location was good. The supermarket was a couple of minutes walk away. Restaurants and the boat stop were a bit further. We had a rental car and drove often to neighbour villages, too, to have a lounch or a dinner. It was easy to use the boat to go to the other side of the lake. There was a nice little sandy beach just down to the lake from the apartment where kids loved to play and swim.
I really can recommend the holiday at Lake Como and staying in this apartment in the cosy little village of Lenno.

Just a line to say a big thank you to both you, Barrie, and Julie for making us feel so welcomed. We really enjoyed our stay in your home in Lenno. We found the apartment to be very clean, comfortable and well equipped and it is in a great location too. We also really enjoyed having our breakfast out on the balcony each morning with the many changing views of the Lake. All information you sent to us was also excellent and we made use of the ferry, just 3 mins from apartment, to visit many places around Lake Como. Thank you for renting the home to us and for the extensive information that made travelling and eating out so much easier. We had a wonderful time and will definetly come back as we could easily get used to the lifestyle and weather there. We had a wonderful time so again a big thank you to you both.
I am already looking forward to a return trip to Lenno, but in the meantime, I will sing its praises to far and wide.

Runnymede UKA happy stay in Lenno
Left on 05/25/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We were happy with the pre-booking and booking process, and with our welcome from Julie when we arrived. The apartment and the site were carefully shown and explained to us. There is a guest book which we wish we'd read before we signed it on the last day - full of holiday tips from previous clients. Barrie and Julie also provide comprehensive information about the local area and give recommendations.
The apartment was ideal for the two of us - the separate loo is in effect like a shower room without a shower so two can finish getting ready at the same time. The view from the apartment living room and balcony is exactly as shown; it gets the sun from early morning so breakfast is delightful. We were pleased with the size of the rooms. The apartment was pleasantly furnished, clean and well-decorated and in good order.
The apartment is in a block which from the higher apartments overlooks rooftops and gardens (in full bloom when we were there) to the lake. It has a quite roomy gated parking area with a remote-control gate. It is a few hundred meters to central Lenno - but this need not be along the main road. Like other lake villages Lenno is criss-crossed by alleys which link with side roads to make a pleasant walk to the village. The local shops can also be reached this way, as can the next village. Many of these alleys are cobbled which might not suit everybody.
Lenno is an elegant little place with some nice restaurants and bars - it has frequent ferry connections with the other central lake villages and the Como-Colico service. The Como-Colico bus service runs past the apartment and through Lenno.
What did we like best about the apartment? That it was exactly as described and pleasant to stay in - it was nice to come back to. What did we like least? The TV reception is whimsical although the choice is huge! -

Denton, TexasBeautiful apartment in Lake Como area
Left on 03/24/2011 for a stay in September 2009
Our last apartment rental was in Lenno, Italy overlooking Lake Como. It was a beautiful facility that we rented for around 600 British Pounds per week in September of 2009, with an additional cleaning fee of 60 pounds. The apartment had a modern kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a spacious living room/dining room leading to a nice balcony overlooking Lake Como.
The apartment also has a lift in the building and a private parking space in the front courtyard. With the lift to the second floor ("first floor" in Europe), it was perfect for my wife, who has problems climbing stairs.
The apartment is located in the center of Lenno, a small town located on the lake. There were many facilities in the area, including a large supermarket just a short walk from the apartment.
The view of Lake Como from the balcony was stunning. The UK owners, who live in the area, were very nice and provided us with a number of good suggestions for travel in the area.live in the area.
The overall experience was great. I would definitely rent this apartment again.

We have stayed in this apartment three years in a row. In the six consecutive years we have visited Como we had bad experiences the first three. Then the fourth year we discovered this lovely Lenno property. We really cannot complain about the place, or we would not have returned. It was quiet, with a beautiful lake view, close proximity to the supermarket and always very clean upon arrival. The agents have been helpful in recommending places to eat, and also recommended this lovely beach bar nearby. We will return every July and are happy we don't have to spend hours searching for the right place any longer.

In fact there are indeed 2 ferry terminals here if you recall, one around 10 minutes walk and another to the right of the home in Campo only 3 minutes walk!!
Hope to welcome you back once again next year. Good luck with your travels in France.

LondonFabulous base for a holiday
Left on 11/18/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We spent a very enjoyable 10 days in October/November 2010. It was our first holiday with our baby (5 months) and it worked really well. Barrie and Julie were fantastic and provided a travel cot, microwave (for sterilising) and a food blender for those first baby purees. The apartment is incredibly well located- within 5 mins walk of 2 supermarkets, a cafe, restaurant and the petrol station. The secure parking was also great with the baby as we knew we always had a spot at the apartment. The view from the living room/kitchen is spectacular and there were so many things to do in the area (even out of season including a number of good walks direct from the door). Some of the kitchen pots and pans could probably do with being replaced and an extra carpet in the living room would be great for the winter months but otherwise a very well stocked and comfortable base for your holiday. We would recommend.

Nick, Thank you so much for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed yourselves so much. We purchased the home due to its convenient location, parking and accessibility to all attractions (not to mention the view!) so we are glad these features worked for you too. It was a pleasure to host you and we hope to welcome you back soon!
Kind regards

ChesterfieldA Beautiful apartment in an idyllic location
Left on 08/27/2010 for a stay in August 2010
This apartment was everything we wanted for our honeymoon. It was modern, well furnished and equipped and a good size. The views from the balcony were fantastic and it is literally a 2 minute walk down to the lake. It is ideally situated for the supermarket, restaurants, bus stops and regular boat services to other tourist locations on the lake. We stayed here with no car and managed to get around perfectly well and see everything there was to see. We thoroughly recommend the apartment.

Having driven from the UK to Italy it was nice to meet up with Barry, who has been more than accomodating from the beginning we made the reservation down arranging reservations for restaurants and tips on things to do, all the recommendations were fantastic, we loved restaurant Crotto Dei Platti! The accomation was perfectly situated with an amazing view of the beautiful lake, Lenno seems to be the best place to stay, it is well situated on the Lake. The apartment had everything we needed, the supermarket is also only a few minutes walk from the apartment which is very handy as we did not see any others around Lake Como. Lido de Lenno, the local restaurant/bar was lovely, Barry arranged for a table on the night of our wedding anniversary and also arranged tickets for us to attend the Happy Hour at Villa Balbianello - absolutely loved it!!! We would love to return.

London, UKIncredible location - the views are breathtaking
Left on 07/22/2010 for a stay in July 2010
The apartment is tastefully and fully equipped, the best feature being the large balcony with a beautiful view of argegno and the lake. We particularly appreciated the fact that argegno is not an overtly touristy village, but a proper working village with a few shops and restaurants / cafes, but no huge hotels or tourist traps. Julie looked after us well and made some excellent recommendations of local places to eat, drink and visit. The only very minor gripe was the missing remote control for the DVD player. Otherwise a truly delightful holiday.

Left on 07/01/2010 for a stay in May 2010
The moment we walked through the door into this apartment, we knew that we'd stumbled across a treasure... Nestled into the hills of Lake Como, the apartment is conveniently located in Lenno (a sweet little town about halfway down the west side of the lake). It's the perfect spot from which to visit the gorgeous brightly coloured little towns that are sprinkled along the waters edge like dollops of gelato. Whilst the best way to get around the lake is certainly by boat (either a slow ferry or fastcat), we found that having a car to get there/depart was invaluable. The apartment isn't too far from the ferry departure point, but you wouldn't want to have stocked up on too much shopping in Milano - it's about 10-15 minutes walk. The apartment itself has a view to die for - once you swing open the french doors, settle on the balcony with a glass of red, you'll know life surely can't get any better! The apartment is incredibly well-equipped, and perfect for either a family of 4, or two couples. The kitchen is really well stocked (although a slightly larger cafetiere would be great as we found ourselves having to make 2-3 pots in the morning to simply satisfy the caffiene needs of our party!). Just about everything you could possibly need is provided for - from candles to umbrellas, you don't need to bring anything (except perhaps a teatowel or two - we just couldn't deal with only having one tea towel!). The town of Lenno is only a short stroll away, with a supermarket, chemist, tourist info, lido and a couple of restaurants close by. It's certainly not large - in fact we'd anticipated it being larger than it was) so don't rely on being able to get everything and anything you need. We would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation - in fact the only downside was that we had to leave!

We've spent 5
days at Lake Como, and it was a truly wonderful holiday! The apartment
is located in the town of Lenno - very small and quiet, a walking
distance to the beautiful gardens of Villa Balbianello (highly
recommended!) The apartment is very nice, completely met our
expectations, and the owners were very welcoming: we have arrived late,
and they met us and showed us everything we needed. The lake view is
great, it's a pity the weather was cold so we didn't use the terrace,
but I can imagine it must be very nice having breakfast and dinner
there. The location is also very convenient - apart from being close to
the lake and one of the most beautiful gardens, there is a supermarket 2
min walk from the apartment, town center with riverside restaurants is
also not far away. At the same time, it's very private, a perfect place
to get away from the city noise and crowds, and feels very cozy. We
stopped at Lake Maggiore on the way back, only to realize Como is
actually much nicer. We really hope to come back some day!

We had a great few days in a very nice apartment on (beautiful) Lake Como. Barrie and Julie were very helpful and accommodating - even meeting us late at night/showing us all we needed to know about the apartment and local area.
Great views over Lake Como and very well placed for travelling up or down the Lake. Also easily placed for lots of walking. Handy supermarket up the road for supplies too!
Apartment very modern and well equipped, would best suit couple (like us), or family with older kids (the apartment is on the 2nd floor - there is a lift). Also wide range of UK tv channels on cable too.
Argegno and Menaggio particularly recommended, as is a visit to Lake Lugano - just a short trip over the mountain.
Like we've said highly recommended! -

Left on 12/01/2009 for a stay in March 2009
The apartment is brilliantly located, about 50 metres from the lake, on flat land, with views of the water from the lounge and balcony. It also less than 100 metres from the supermarket and close to the C10 bus stop. The lakefront promenade is home to the lido, bars, restaurants and ferry point (where you can pick up the greenway signposted walk). At the other end of the promenade is the entrance to Villa Balbianello, one of the top attractions on the lake. The apartment is the 2nd floor of a secure access and parking with a lift and stairs to access the home. The accomodation is comfortable with a lounge diner, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom plus additonal w.c

We loved Lenno so much here we relocated here ourselves full time.

Look forward to seeing you here in Lenno in 2010.

Julie was friendly, very helpful and gave us all the information we needed. We felt in good hands from the moment we arrived. The appartment was perfect for the week we had planned, and the view from the balcony is breathtaking. It was hard to pull ourselves away from that view each day to go do stuff. The town is small, but has pretty much all you need, and I get the impression that it wouldn't take long at all to feel like a local. There is plenty to do using either the ferry or car, and this would be an ideal location for a bike riding holiday. We never got bored, even if we were right at the very end of the season. I would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone, and hope to visit again some time soon.

Denton, TexasWonderful Apartment in Lenno at Lake Como
Left on 11/05/2009 for a stay in September 2009
We very much enjoyed our stay at the apartment. It was exactly as advertised. The view from the balcony was wonderful and the access to all parts of Lake Como was great. My wife Carol was very pleased with the layout of the apartment and found it to be well equipped with everything we needed. In particular, Carol found the elevator access to the second floor (our USA third floor) to be a godsend, as she has difficulty walking up and down stairs. I also liked the easy parking, especially in a heavily travelled area where parking is often difficult.
There are many other aspects that make this apartment very convenient for a stay at Lake Como, including the close proximity to a grocery store and gas station. We really appreciated Julie's directions which allowed us to drive into Milan and take their Metro directly to the Duomo, without having to go through the difficulty and expense of taking the train from Como. Al in all, it we had a great week in the Como area.
I hope we can return soon.

Left on 10/10/2009 for a stay in August 2009
Our pre-holiday emails were full of useful information, especially as we were travelling totally by public transport from the UK. Barrie gave us a warm welcome and we were able to contact him during the stay with any queries or problems.
The apartment was just as viewed on the website, spacious, well-equipped and with a fantastic view! Lenno is a great location on the lake with easy access to lots of attractive towns and beautiful villas.Local public park for swimming in lake was only 10 mins walk and our boys had great fun swimming across to Isla Comacina!
We enjoyed walking along the lanes by the lakefront and exploring the towns and villages around. The main road behind the apartment was busy and a bit noisy at times but you couldn't hear it from the balcony.
We don't often return to holiday locations as we love trying somewhere new but this might just be a first!!! -

Our stay in Lenno started with a truly breathtaking firework display. The apartment was furnished and equipped to a high standard with all the comfort we had been hoping for. Julie was very professional and made our arrival painless. The view is fantastic and is truly relaxing whether you are sitting down to breakfast or a having a glass of wine in the evening. Were there any drawbacks? There were a couple the main road was noticably noisy at certain times of the day, especially early morning. Eataries in Lenno itself are a little sparse so be prepared to travel to find alternative resterants.

My wife and I had been to several parts of Italy before,we decided to visit the lakes as we had heard great things about the place from friends. The apartment was fantastic with great views of the lake.Plenty of places to eat and afterwards it was nice to stroll down to the waterfront for a couple cocktails. The locals were really friendly and very helpful.Mennagio & Bellagio are great places to visit either by ferry or a short car journey. The weather was great, no beaches but the Lido in Mennagio was well worth the visit.Would like to thank Barry & Julie for the hospitality and there amazing apartment, also for the restaurant recommendations in which we took there advice and booked tables and they were not wrong, they served really good italian food.We had a really relaxing time and we would definately recommend the lakes for a visit. Thanks, Mr & Mrs Dove from Essex.

Andrew, it was a delight to meet you both. Glad you enjoyed the whole experience. Many thanks for sharing your experience for others to gain
an authentic opinion-pleased we could help out with some recommendations! Living here 12 months of the year we are always on the look out for new places, (wine bars and restaurants mainly!)
to share with you to give you "real" lake como experience away from the tourist hoardes!
I agree Menaggio & Bellagio are well worth a visit for another slice of glamour however it is nice to retreat to Lenno which is unspoilt and gives a local feel, together with the restaurants, beach and ferry access.
Hopefully we will see you sometime soon on the lakes once more here or at one of our other homes which are furnished to the same high standard.
All the very best.
