Myself and my friends had a lovely short stay at this beautiful cottage in allithwaite. Nicely decorated and layed out inside, with a lovely balcony overlooking the gardens and fields beyond. Small gravelled garden off the kitchen with a lovely sitting out area, barbeque and wonderful stream flowing at the bottom. The dogs loved it and so did we!The cottage isn't isolated and you have neighbours either side, though you would never know. The only small problem we had was getting the oven to work, and maybe the inclusion of some logs for the fire would have been nice, considering the time of year that we went. Though having said that the central heating in the cottage was very good. Just like having an open fire - if It was a very relaxing and very enjoyable holiday, only a short drive away from the south lakes. We went for a short break in October but would love to go back in summer to make full use of that balcony and garden.

This cottage is very good. Lovely clean rooms with kitchen and dining area with door to the small garden with a stream. Having 2 bathrooms - one ground floor and one top floor was good. A pub with good food and friendly staff was a few minutes walk away. Although I wouldn't have wanted to stay there with young children because of the stream and a dog continually fouled the garden while we were there!
