Meriden, ConnecticutWould definetely stay there again and the price is right!
Left on 06/27/2012 for a stay in June 2012
When we arrived the apartment was beautiful and better then when we expected. Our stay there was very relaxing. The house is located right on Glen Lake and it is a beautiful small lake south of Lake George and much more peaceful and fewer tourists. We didn't have a boat to dock which would have made the vacation much more fun! We enjoyed the screen gazebo under shade to read and eat our dinners! Very nice!
The trees are in the way of the view once bloomed as you can see from picture...I think they could probably benefit from trimming them a bit to see the beautiful lake while still maintaining privacy.
There are a lot of stairs to apartment and lake...Not suitable for small children or elderly. It was alright to deal with for a week though. Because of the stairs the apartment is not ground level so there was not a place to just walk into the lake but we were able to jump off the dock and often went swimming to cool of and tube to get some sun...again the benefits of a quiet lake!
They also had a fire pit that we could use but never did because it was too hot the week we stayed!
We arrived and the grill wasn't working and there was no toaster or garbage can outside but Karina and her husband brought them the very next day! They were very accommodating and recommended restaurants and stores nearby when we arrived there were also booklets of things to do :)
I wish there were stools for the island in kitchen and another sofa by the windows in room next to porch...we had family come visit and we cooked at home to save money for a few nights. The benefits of this place over a hotel stay!
There was also another apartment below us and when we put deposit down we didn't know that we thought we got whole house to our self...the guy who stayed below however was very nice and took us for a boat ride one evening during sunset...Beautiful!
Karina also gave us something to access the internet for the week...a Verizon router. Which was convenient so we could look up the area and check email.
Overall, the owners were very easy to work with and we enjoyed ourselves...all the negatives were mostly suggestions for them and don't let that scare you. The week was very affordable and the location is amazing. So if you want to save money on hotel fees and still be driving distance to downtown Lake George and know and love the area this is the place for you! -
