Just 5 miles from Lake George, the Cove 1 cottage offers beautiful views of Lake Vanare and the Adirondacks. A large covered deck, charcoal grill, picnic table and campfire area make the Cove 1 cottage a true Adirondack getaway. The Cove 1 is a two bedroom lakefront cottage with a queen size bed in one bedroom and a triple bunk bed in the second bedroom. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a living room, dining area, cable TV, gas burning fireplace and bathroom with a shower (no tub). We rented "Pine" Cottage because pets were allowed. It had two bedrooms but you would want to be very good friends or family as one bedroom was in the middle between the kitchen and the second bedroom. Actually the cabin offered more amenities than we needed or expected to find: a TV, a/c, private campsite, etc. Because it was after Labor Day and before the leafs came into color we had the whole area to ourselves except for one other unit that was rented to people also traveling with their pet. Excellent time to visit, the weather cooperated and we used the boats available (at no extra cost) to explore and view the lake. We were treated to seeing beaver and a huge snapping turtle as well as ducks and fish, of which I was able to catch (and release) quite a number! Great time.

We have been staying at Hide-A-Way Cottages for one week every July for over 10 years. Hide a Way is a relaxing, family oriented, vacation destination which is located on a small lake, with a private beach, row boats available, is very relaxing, pet friendly, and is only 10 minutes to Lake George. Peter Girard, the owner, his family, and staff, are fantastic people and they make everyone feel like they are part of the Hide a Way family. Many of the same families have come each year and our kids have grown up together at Hide a way. The fishing is good, there are great golf courses within 20 minutes, great restaurants, and all the activities that come with Lake George. If you want to have private family time, you can do that as well. Hide a way is a great place to take a vacation, it is our favorite week of the year.

I spent the July 4th weekend at the Lakefront cottage with my brother and nephew who were visiting me from overseas. I wanted someplace comfortable and nice as this was our first holiday together in years. The cottage had been recently updated, was in mint condition and a pleasure to walk into after a long day. The bathroom had plenty of place for all our towels and toiletries and the kitchen had everything we needed in terms of utensils and crockery. The view is serene - overlooking the lake, and there are rowboats & kayaks that you can take out anytime. The owners went out of their way to help us plan our activities and give us directions. My only regret is not making it to the Saturday cookout that they hosted for all the guests. The location was perfect - far from the maddening crowds - and yet less then a 10 minutes drive from the heart of Lake George and the outlet stores in Queensbury. I would come back here in a heartbeat.

We have been vacationing at the Hide-a-way since 2002. We found it on line and were looking for somewhere that was pet friendly. We have had nothing but great memories there. We fish, swim, relax, bbq, smores and night fires. It is an amazing place to go. It is close to the town of Lake George. We go to Six flags, minature golf, restaurants, Martha's ice cream, shopping. It is close to everything. We loved it and now our 3 and 4 year old love it. We go there and it feels like home. The owner is such a great person. He and his family make you feel like one of the family. The Hide-A-Way offers people the opportunity to make awesome memories that will last a life time. We highly recommend it and cant wait to go again next summer.

Amazing! Beautiful and relaxing. My husband and i stayed in Cove 1 from Monday - Friday and didn't want to leave. We felt at home. The owners are very personable and the staff is great. We will defiantly be back!!!

We have been here three times now, we started out in one of the smaller cottages and worked our way up to the bigger ones, by far the Cove 1 is the best one of all, The view from the front window is absolutely breathtaking. We plan to return again if we don't move out of New York State. The kids had a blast, canoeing, fishing, swimming, and camp fires at night, so many memories to take back with us. Highly recommend you pick this place. We always hate to leave when the time comes. You will be completely satisfied. So, So, Peaceful, here.

The Cove 2 and the entire Hide a Way Cottage venue is a real treat! Plenty of room, kitchens, use of watercraft on a beautiful lake and in a beautiful setting. Perfect!
