Some great things...some in need of improvement. (power outages,

Left on 08/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012

It was hard to find in the dark at night. Overall it seemed to be clean as far as the bed linens and bathrooms went. However we had a visit from the next door neighbor thirty minutes into our visit at 9pm warning us that he wasn't afraid to call the cops if we were too loud. We enjoyed the hot tub. It seemed to work great, but fooled us. After about 30 minutes of hot tub use, we went back inside and all of the power went out. Luckily we brought flashlights and looked at the breaker box in the house and didn't see anything wrong with it. We re-set it just in case and nothing. All of the neighbors on the street still had their lights on. We then called the emergency maintenance number and woke a lady up at 1130pm who was half asleep for the entire call and wasn't much help. She said someone must have hit a telephone pole and that she can send someone out in the morning to check it out. To make matters worse, we didn't have any cellphone service there and had to drive several miles to call. The phone in the house does not work. She must not have relayed the message about our power to anyone, because we had to call again. This time a nice gentleman showed up and found out that the breaker on the outside of the house blew b/c it was not wired properly for the addition of the hot tub. Needless to say, anytime we used the hottub that weekend, we had a power outage and had to flip the breaker. Annoying. Most of our food was spoiled from no electricity all night. I know this cabin is in a forest, but it could have been dusted more and cobwebs removed. Finding a couple of spiders in your bed doesn't make for the best sleep. The kitchen is nice and the appliances worked great. The TV worked good, but you won't be watching it alone...we saw a mouse drop from the stairs and scurry across the living room while were there. This cabin was definitely not worth the $650 we spent on two nights, but with a little help, it could be improved.

Response from Pinnacle Lake Tahoe Getaways - 08/26/2012

      Hello,

We are so sorry about the breaker problem but in order to get a new breaker we had to wait until a weekday to get that specialized breaker. It did not have anything to do with the Hot Tub...just a main breaker that had gone bad. With regards to mice....at Lake Tahoe small field mice are very common in the summer and in our rental agreement we disclose the fact that mice may be present....whether it is a new or old home...just a fact of mountain living:)
We have alerted our cleaning crew that the home was dusty and cobwebs were present.
AT&T and Verizon are the main carriers at Lake Tahoe....but cell service anywhere at The Lake can be a challenge.
We now have a live 24 hour service for after hour calls....

Our experience at this nicely remodeled cabin was fantastic. the back yard is the national forest. trails and streams everywhere. The cabin had a rustic feel with all the remedies of a new house. Very nice, we will be back. and a brand new refridgerator!!

      Had a Blast

Left on 04/25/2012 for a stay in February 2012

The place was teriffic. We really enjoyed the hot tub.
The beds were a little too hard to sleep on said some of our guests, but we did not have a problem in the downstairs room.
It would be nice if there was a 2 person bed/couch where the loft is, for one to send kids up to watch tv and for two, to be able to have another sleeping area.
Kitchen was well equipped. Fridge did break down on our stay, but they did come within a couple of hours and change it out.
We will probably try to get this cabin again next winter.

Beware! Poor customer services. Many things not operating correc

The hot tub was not cleaned prior to our stay. The water was yellow and smelled pretty bad. No chlorine was added. The cable would only stay on one chanel. Then realized the next day that the refrigerator was not cooling at all. Most of our food went bad. Called the management to see if they can send a technician to fix the problem. They got a first guy out there that couldnt figure out what was wrong. Second crew came out and told us they fixed it. The fridge was still not operating. We had to leave our food out on the porch. Several areas on the roof had holes. It was dripping water. Very dissapointing. All the management wanted to do was argue with us and thought that all we wanted was our money back. All we wanted is for the problems to be fixed. We couldnt understand why they couldnt fix it prior to our stay.
