We have stayed in this lovely, cozy cottage for two summers with our family of four (kids ages 4 and 7). The minute we pull into the gravel driveway, we all relax and settle into lake mode. The kids love the huge grassy area and exploring the beautiful meadow, filled with wildflowers and an apple tree (which the deer love exploring). We even found some raspberries one summer. The cottage itself is filled with comfortable furniture, unique treasures from the owner's travels and wonderful books to explore. The screened porch is probably our favorite spot in the house. We all love sitting out there, reading the paper in the morning or books to the children at bedtime. It's especially lovely at night, watching the fireflies in the garden. While the house is not on the water, the beaches are a short drive away and we enjoy having the space and privacy that being away from the lakefront affords. The cottage is near the train tracks but for our 7 yr old son, this is by far the highlight. A favorite activity is putting pennies on the tracks at night and running down there first thing in the morning to search for the flattened coins. The cottage is close to great restaurants in Union Pier and New Buffalo and is a short drive from Sawyer and Three Oaks, both of which have unique stores and farmers markets. We have also had lots of fun picking blueberries and peaches just a short distance away. We have made many wonderful family memories at this cottage and eagerly look forward to our visits each summer. We always return to the city feeling refreshed and ready to go back!

My family has stayed at the aqua Writers Cottage on four occasions - so we clearly love it. Big enough that our family of four can comfortably spread out and relax but not so big that you lose the great sense of closeness that time in such a house brings. Beautiful decor, well kept, private lot surrounded by trees, 5 minute drive to the beach, cafe's, groceries. By far our favorite feature is the huge screened in porch - an amazing place to spend an evening with a nice bottle of wine and the sound of the woods. This place is a gem!

We had the most incredible time at this cottage. It's adorably decorated with great books and nice wood floors. The porch is perfect for a glass of wine or a long game of scrabble. We woke up to deer in meadow! The beach is a short walk away but those house feels away from it all. A perfect place to escape!
