Additional Location Information

Lambeau is centrally located and conveniently bordered by two of Tobago's main roadways: The Old Milford Road which runs along the scenic coast, while the Claude Noel Highway runs more inland and gets you to any point on the island fast.

From Lambeau, the Crown Point Airport is a 15 minute drive away with flights arriving from Trinidad hourly and international flights from the UK and North America coming in several times a week.

Scarborough, the capital, is also a 15 minute drive from Lambeau. There is a ferry service to and from Trinidad twice daily at the port in Scarborough with very reasonable fares. Scarborough is also home to most of the banks, the post office, the museum and the hospital.

Gulf City Mall, the only international standard mall and movie theater in Tobago is about a 7 minute drive from BougainVilla 14A. Amongst the “made in china” stuff is an art gallery owned and operated by the Tobago Artist Association which features the work of local artists.

Watching the sun rise, or taking in an early morning walk or a sea bath with the locals on your beach just across the street is a favourite way to start the day. From there you can begin planning your day on how to best explore the vibes and immeasurable beauty of Tobago. Petit Trou also called Karen's beach (but only by me Karen, LOL), is a 5 minutes walk further down Old Milford road. There you can play in the shallow waves, swim topless (against the law, but..), and walk or run its 5 miles of compact sand. Two must-visit beaches are Store Bay and Pigeon Point, both in the same direction just a 15 minute drive away. Pigeon Point has a small entrance fee and is best visited on Sunday - stay for the after closing "lime" and then go straight to Sunday School at Buccoo for dinner and (email: hidden) steelpan playing (around 7 pm).

You can arrange trips to bird-watch, to the rain-forest, on a glass-bottom boat, or a deep-sea boating expedition. You can enjoy a round of golf or scuba-diving followed by a beach party, taste the local night life; or just chill and enjoy a local dish at a local restaurant.

In February/March, come and experience Carnival which is always the Monday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. If you are visiting from March to September you can look for leatherback turtles that nest on Turtle Beach, Mt. Irvine Beach or Minister Beach at night. In April, DO NOT MISS the goat and crab races held during the first two weeks - I went this year for the first time and had such a ball, or the Tobago Jazz Festival. For a cultural experience with a difference, plan your trip around Heritage of Tobago in July or the Great Boat Race (Yachts & Power Boats) in August.
