Description from the owner
Kerargon by the sea is a historic farmstead renovated with large groups (13-28) of friends and family in mind. Two houses, dating from 1772, have been lovingly renovated, melding historic charm with modern comfort in individually styled rooms with newly appointed bathrooms. The houses are grouped around a south-facing courtyard, inviting for games of boule, pingpong or badminton, but each house has a private garden as well. Located just 6km from the endless beaches of Finistère, the houses are equidistant from 2 small towns with shops catering to all your daily needs, and within an hour's drive from major sights of Brittany. We held our anglo-breton wedding near to Landudec this summer and were lucky enough to have chosen Kerargon as the main location for people to stay (along with another house near Pouldreuzic)
From the first contact Harriet was simply brilliant ! I visited the cottages in the winter to confirm they suited our needs and from this moment onwards Harriet was a key part of our planning !
We hired the longhouse for 2 weeks and the manorhouse for a shorter period over the wedding weekend (it luckily had a cancellation just before). Harriet was kind enough to help us in our wedding organisation by recieving deliveries on our behalf in the weeks before the event.
The cottages are excellent for groups of friends and families alike. We can attest to this as week 1 was friends and week 2 was family. They are extremely well equipped and spacious. The gardens are big enough to hold a BBQ for 50, as Harriet was kind enough to let us test the night before our wedding.
The bathrooms were modern (having just had a refurb) and the kitchens were very well equipped, we never lacked anything!
The cottages have retained their charm and having multiple living areas is perfect when people want some time apart.
Every single one of our guests spoke about how lovely Harriet was, she welcomed arrivals when we werent around, gave people directions to the chateau and gave advice on local tourism to our foreign visitors.
The table tennis was a great diversion for kids (young and...old) as was the darts - and the isolation of the houses means you were never concerned about upsetting any neighbours.
The location is ideal for access to the beaches and the many delights of pouldreuzic (Kerne & Henaff!) as well as access to the wilder parts of the coast (we had a wildlife photographer amongst us who loved it).
We had a simply wonderful time, and cannot recommend Kerargon highly enough. -

I have stayed at this property twice. The homes are very well appointed and are fully equipped. The kitchens have everything you would need and the owner has a wonderful herb garden that she shares with the guests. Harriet McConnell is a wonderful source of all things Breton and can give you great guidance on all there is to do in the area. We learned so much this last trip.
You can be busy every day sightseeing, beaching, hiking or just sitting outside and listening to the peacefulness. There are so many options and history in this area.
