Our beautiful holiday cottage in the heart of Central Brittany is set in a large tranquil garden. A traditional 'longere' it has been restored to the highest standards and, central heated throughout, it is ideal for both winter and summer breaks. The open plan living area has a woodburning stove, with wood provided, satellite TV and DVD. The kitchen is well appointed with a full size oven and hob, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and microwave.

The cottage is just ten minutes drive from Lac de Guerledan, the largest lake in Brittany, with safe, man-made swimming beaches, watersports facilities, cafes and restaurants. The Nantes/Brest canal flows into the lake and the towpath is perfect for walking or cycling both winter and summer. Further-a-field, Brittany is a fascinating mix of spectacular coastline and ancient towns and the central location of the cottage makes much of it within easy reach. The Central Brittany area is a well kept secret amongst the French, come and discover this hidden gem.

Triton Cottage is a beautiful cottage to stay in for a short break or family holiday. The cottage is beautifully laid out.
The situation was perfect with all the amenities close at hand. Also, in driving distance of some beautiful towns and villages and also the coast.
Ian and Lorna were perfect hosts - there if you need them for advice of where to go to eat. Some very good restaurants nearby. The Henry IV in Rostrenen was our favourite. -

If your ideal holiday is to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of urban life - then this is it. Triton cottage sits in the heart of the Brittany countryside, with good access to local facilities for shopping, good restaurants etc. Plenty of interesting places to visit are close by, including the Lac du Guerledan, the abbaye de Bon Repos and the Nantes / Brest canal. Even the beautiful north Breton coast can be reached within the hour - all on relatively traffic free roads. The cottage is superb - well equipped for all needs with plenty of space both inside and in the garden. It is warm, bright and airy, clean and well looked after by hosts Lorna and Ian, who make their guests very welcome and can offer plenty of advice on where to go, what to do etc. This was our 3rd stay and we'll be back for more

We found the cottage exactly as described on the website.
It is spacious with extremely comfortable lounge furniture.
The hosts who live next door were not intrusive and when asked gave excellent advice about things to do in the area. We only used the bicyles on one occassion but knowing that these facilities are available adds to the holiday pleasure.
Having WiFi is an added bonus and the flat panel TV with both french and English channels is great for those who feel the need to catch up with the world news.
The cottage is set in a very quiet hamlet surrounded by farms. it is only a 5 minute drive to pick up the morning baguette or small items. -

The owners of Triton Cottage have thought of everything. The cottage is very well appointed and is a very comfortable place to stay. The gardens are lovely and the setting is very peaceful. It is rare to find a property that ticks so many boxes but what is even more unusual is to find such congenial, thoughtful and helpful hosts who work really hard to make your stay perfect. A super house for anybody wishing to visit Brittany but especially for those with babies and young children as they are really well catered for. We hope to return in the future.

The cottage is cosy, well kept and has all the amenities one would require. It is also an ideal place for families as the gardens provide enough space for picnics, games etc.
Supermarkets are within easy reach and there are some good restaurants.
Lorna and Ian are very friendly and helpful in advising which places are of interest in the surrounding area.
The location is very central and ideal for daytrips to Quimper (Faience Pottery), Josselin (Castle), Vannes, Concarneau, Pont aven, Rennes, St Malo, Dinan, Le Mont St Michel, to name but a few.
We very much enjoyed the tranquillity of the Breton countryside.

We had a great stay. The cottage was very clean and serviceable.
Lots of countryside to enjoy locally. If you're looking for lots of places to visit it's a bit of a drive but if you love outdoor walking, cycling and relaxing in country then this is a great place to come. -

The owners were very welcoming and helpful. A beautiful gite and surrounding garden in a very quiet spot. The gite had everything that you could possibly need to make your holiday perfect.

We had a really lovely time at Triton Cottage, absolutely superb location if you like the peace and quiet of deep rural France. Bliss!
The cottage itself is spacious, well equipped, very confortable, probably better than we expected, and the owners are very nice indeed.
In short we had a very relaxing holiday, did lots of bike rides, and lovely walks... and many days just enjoyed the large garden at the cottage. -

Nothing was too much trouble for Lorna and Ian and their property was by far the most impressive that we stayed in over our 7 week holiday in France. would recommend it to other travellers. easily found with our satelite navigation system and not too far (with transport)from supermarkets.
