We enjoyed our aUG 2012 stay at river's edge. The home was clean everything worked but there is no Wifi FYI. The yard was awesome for our dog to play fetch with. We loved the secluded one lane road towards the home but it was longish ride from the great downtown area. The hot tub was perfect.
We had some trouble finding this particular home since the directions provided were wrong and should be Re-done with more clarity and details.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. -

We had a great post-Thanksgiving long weekend at River's Edge with my son and daugher-in-law and our dogs. The kitchen was well equiped and the decor was perfect. We enjoyed long walks by the river and exploring new areas in ashe County and West Jefferson. Evening plans changed to simply enjoying spending time in front of the fire at the cabin. A heads up...there are very step steps leading down to the cabin...20 or 30...but they tell you this in the rental information. Parking is very limited and the road to the house is a typical unpaved mountain road. Four-wheel drive is helpful even without snow! Wonderful weekend. Would go again tomorrow.

My husband & I were in much need of no phones, no computers, no people and that is exactly what we got! We were able go to sleep early wake up late and do absolutely nothing! The cabin was perfect. The location was great. We were able to take a drive and venture and were also able to just sit and talk and listen to the silence. We will definately be back!!!

We have rented 8 different cabins from Carolina Mt. Properties and this one is our favorite. It is very private and secluded and right on the river.

Pros: perfect setting, perfect location, perfect size - we took a large rafe and an anchor to play in the river.
Cons: the outside needs to be cleaned, the cover of the hot tub blocks the view of the river, no steps or easy access to the river - the pictures do not show that. The bank is very steep and not easy to climb up and down. Check in is too late and check out too early! -

It is a great place, we had everything we needed for cooking, very clean and quiet. Sitting on the deck with my love looking at the river was a bonus.

river's edge is a great place to go if you want a little peace and quiet. the home was very clean and comfortable with the river right out back to enjoy.

A beautiful, well maintained and spacious retreat from the busy world.
We enjoyed a surprise Easter weekend snowfall in the comfort of the large hot
tub on the deck, backed up by a nice warm fire in the living room
fireplace...spectacular! We don't have kids, but I imagine they would have a
blast running around on the wide grassy bank of the river. The only drawback
we had was navigating the steps, of which there are a few, in icy conditions,
but that would be true in winter anywhere.

we loved this place took or pets it was the last vacation with an old lab of mine :( and he loved it as well. we fished for small mouths all day in right in the back yard then cooked dinner and laid around in the jaquzzi. just a terrific place clean well kept and lovley.

Cabin and view was very nice and cozy. We really enjoyed our 3 day stay. Fishing was great and weather was nice. Only problem that I incurred was that my Father has a very hard time walking. The stairs down to the cabin are very steep. All in all, I would recommend the cabin to other vacationers.
