Taina House, roomy villa with a wide garden, furnished in a very original rustic style, with games of local colors, stone, woods and materials.
The Villa is located in a residential part of Las Galeras, on the extreme north-east tip of the Peninsula of Samaná… one infinite extended of palms, rounded of wild and uncontaminated beaches, in a context not so far from that one of the ancients inhabitants of the island, the “Taina” civilization.

Chalet Tropical is a beautiful place to stay in the Dominican Republic. We stayed half a week in Casa Taina and a week in one of the chalets. Both were great experiences. The chalet might be more romantic, but Casa Taina is more spacious (and has a better kitchen). For our family this house was great. The Wifi is a bit weak inside the house but if you need to get online you can just step out and sit on the terrace or in the garden.
More importantly, Casa Taina is situated in Sarah's Chalet Tropical Village which is a 5min pleasant walk from Las Galeras and 7-8 min pleasant walk to the wonderful beach Playita. Sarah is the perfect host - genuinely wanting you to have your perfect vacation. She is always helpful and generous and perfectlybalancing this with letting you have your privacy and peace&quiet.; Both the gardener/guard and housekeepers that came and cleaned three times a week, were also very pleasant and nice to us, making us feel at home. The place is well kept with a big well kept garden visited daily by the most amazing singing from Dominican birds.
Las Galeras is a wonderful and relaxed village - it has almost everything you will need (mini markets, shops, pharmacy, restaurants) while keeping it small and not busy. We loved it!
Playita is a small paradise beach a short walk from Chalet Tropical. Most days it is very quiet with few people and you can enjoy the crystal clear water and white sand beach almost to yourself. There are sunbeds to be rented if you prefer that, and there is a restaurant where you can have lunch when you need a break from the swimming. There is a company there arranging boat trips to other beaches also. Once a week we had an influx of a small number of tourists from cruise ships that came with buses - these were great occasions for us to visit Playa Rincon and Playa Fronton.
We had a very relaxed and wonderful stay at Chalet Tropical and only wished we had more time :-)
