Good location on Paseo Las Canteras

Left on 03/22/2013 for a stay in March 2013

The apartment is in an excellent location, right on the Playa Las Canteras and with easy acces to Santa Catalina square and Plaza Espana. There are good transport links to the rest of the city and to the rest of the island from San Telmo bus station. There is a very good choice of eateries on Las Canteras and we had some really good food. In terms of the apartment itself the view from the front window is probably the best feature providing a panorama across the whole of the bay from the auditorium to Los Colorados. Two small points are that the key to the lock on the door to the property seemed faulty and it was difficult to get the key to work on occasions. We were told about this by Teresa when we arrived so we were prepared but it was a bit irritating. The other issue was that the bulb on the third floor landing was out throughout the week making the area dark at night and exacerbating the key problem. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom was fine with planty of hot water. Additional towels would have been good. For us the beds being very low were difficult to get out of and, like the seating in the living room, not very comfortable although we recognise that this may well not be an issue for younger people. This said we had an interesting and enjoyable time revisiting Gran Canaria, which is an island we have been to many times in the past, after nine years absence. We were warmly welcomed by Teresa and are grateful for use of the apartment on this trip.

We had sucha great time at this amazing located apartment!!! It was such a joy to be able to run straight out onto the beach with such ease upon waking up and be able to people watch all day from the living room. The view is incredible and the location really was ideal in Las Palmas. We enjoyed exploring all the many restaurants right outside the door. Greg was really helpful and everything went very smoothly. :-)

Fantastic apartment right on the beach

Left on 01/31/2013 for a stay in January 2013

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful apartment. The apartment is right on the beach with fantastic views. The apartment itself is also beautiful with everything you need for your stay.
There is also a child's bedroom, which was perfect for our 3 year old boy. He was absolutely over the moon to discover a room of his own with pictures and a little lamp and even a special holiday stuffed dolphin to cuddle.
Greg was very helpful, quickly answering any questions we had and taking care to make sure we would easily be able to get into the apartment even though he wasn't there himself.
We will definitely come back and stay here again if we get a chance. The apartment is fantastic and the location is wonderful with the beach and all shops you might need just outside the door.

      Just Beautiful!

Left on 01/18/2013 for a stay in December 2012

I’ve never been before in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria and when I arrived before Chrismas 2012 here at Paseo Las Canteras 86, I really was impressed by the beauty of the beach and the springtime-like warmth at this season.
The apartment is just like I saw it in the pictures of the homepage. And even more! I had the feeling that I came home!
The colours of the rooms are very tasteful, the pictures at the walls are inspiring and the furniture is minimalistic (Ikea), but everything looks new, clean and it’s just so to feel comfortable.
The direct look from the living room at the seaside, the sunsets, the roaring sound of he atlantic ocean waves and the various promenaders at the Paseo is just beautiful. You can live a life of leisure or take part of the scene outdoors.
I slept very good in the bedroom. Maybe Buddha, whose soul seems to be all around in Gregs home, helpt. But don’t forget to close the windows early enough, or the mosquitos will rob your nighttime peace!
The kitchen has everything you need to make your own food: a gas- and electric stove, toaster, boiler, fridgerator, dishes, pots, a pan and cleaning-up equipment. Though there are many possibilities to go out for dinner, I cooked almost every evening, because all around here are good stores where you can buy fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, wine and beer from Gran Canaria. It seemed to me very low-priced, because of a lower tax system on the island.
The area of Las Canteras is amazing. You can walk or jogg for 1-3 km, swim, then make your shopping while walking back to the apartment. When I was here I never noticed any agression or prejustice. I heard all languages, mostly from Europe. The beach and the Paseo is cleaned up every morning and the people here are calm and friendly. At the eastern part of the beach I saw families playing with their children and at the western part I watched young guys riding the waves on their surfboards. On the terrace at the top of he building you have a great view at the bay and parts of the city.
It’s very comfortable that the Government of Las Palmas gives you 1 hour/per day WiFi for free! It’s helpful to know some spanish words, but you can get along with english, french or german language. The menus are mostly written in more than three languages.
From the infomation stand at St. Catalina, I’ve got a plan of the busses and I found out that the connections are very good and the ticket prices are decent. I made a lot of rides to the north and the south of the island. But I always liked to come back to Paseo Las Canteras 86. It’s a precious place. Enjoy!
