Austin, TXGreat location and condo
Left on 01/11/2013 for a stay in January 2012
Six of us stayed at this condo for 6 nights in January. Despite it raining for 5 out of the 6 days of our stay, we enjoyed our stay! The condo is just as described so our expectations were met. It was comfortable and spacious enough for 6 adults to hang out in while we waited for the rain to pass.
The location of the condo is perfect! It's just a short walk to the Pueblo de los Pescadores, which has a lot of bars and restaurants and great nightlife during the weekends. You can walk to lots of small markets and a larger grocery store, perfect for cooking meals in the condo. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking! If you prefer not to walk, there's a taxi stand very close to condo where you can arrange trips to beaches further away. The beach, of course, is also a very short walk from the condo. There are lots of tour agencies which are just a 10 minute walk into town where you can arrange tours to other parts of the peninsula and horseback riding to El Limon waterfalls.
There's a nice swimming pool at the property for when you need a break from the ocean. The front patio was one of our favorite places for relaxing in the evening and playing card games while we watched the rain. Even though it's warm and humid in the region, fans in the condo and the screen windows keep it nice and breezy.
The property manager, Miguel, was super nice and helpful throughout our stay. He helped us to figure out how to get to Las Terrenas from Santo Domingo, how to get around Las Terrenas, and arranged for the maid to come when we needed it. There's a cell phone in the condo to use which makes it easy to communicate with Miguel when needed
John was also very helpful and responsive to all of my questions in arranging for the place. I really appreciated his quick replies to my emails.
I would definitely recommend this condo and staying in Las Terrenas for those looking for a DR vacation! -

Edmonton, AB, CanadaA Great Place
Left on 12/28/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Our stay at this rental was very nice. It is a 5min walk to the beach and to other restaurants. The check in and check out went very smoothly. The unit was nice, clean, and roomy enough for 5 people. The only thing that we missed was having air conditioning. There were lots of fans but in the summer when it is really hot, it is nice to have air conditioning. Dealing with the owner, John Irvin, was easy and he was very informative!

ottawa, ontarioFantastic Condo
Left on 12/27/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We stayed at John and Barbara's villa for a week, and found it to be exactly as described. The location was very quiet, and the private pool for condo residents was never occupied. It was a very short walk to the beach and to fantastic French restaurants. A bit pricey, but the food was very, very good and fresh. Las Terranas is a lovely little place, and the nearby beaches (playa bonita, etc) are well worth the short motoconcho ride. You do not need to rent your own transportation here. The kitchen is well stocked and groceries/booze are easy to get in town.
We would highly recommend this rental for couples, and families. John was very easy to deal with, and answered our questions promptly.
Dr was a vacation destination that had never been high on our list, but after this trip, we would easily return, or even buy property! Las Terranas has a nice vibe, and locals, tourists and ex-pats go about their business quite harmoniously. You will not be disappointed, if you are looking for a laid-back, quiet holiday. -

Salt Lake City Ut.Great Ten Day Vacation
Left on 12/26/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We had a great time. . 10 days has never gone by so fast for us. The condo could not have been better. It has everything you need.. nice living room, kitchen and fans over every bed. We recommend having the maid come in and clean at least once during your stay. We set that up through Miguel the property manager. Not only did she clean she also cooked us an amazing dinner. The pool was very nice and almost always empty so we usually had it to ourselves. We spent several nights on the balcony just enjoying our surroundings. On the same street as the condo there is this little restaurant called Rincon Criolle. It's run by a husband and wife and they cooked us a fantastic dinner. They were also very friendly and would greet us as we passed by. Miguel was a huge help during the trip. He set up all of our tours and was always available if we had a question. We recommend the waterfall tour by horse back and visiting the beach at Playa Bonita. If you rent a scooter or quad the beach is just a short ride. It's also a great way to explore the town. Las Terrenas is very safe. We took our two kids(ages 12 and 9) and never felt in danger or uncomfortable. Great location, beautiful complex, a very short walk to the beach and a perfect distance from the noise of the town. Thanks to John for all of his help and information.Response from John Irvin - 12/26/2012

They have recently emailed us about how much they enjoyed their trip to Las Terrenas and how it didn't even compare to a recent vacation in the Western Caribbean. They say that they had so much fun.
