“Magia = Magical” We just returned from an amazing week staying in Sayulita at Magia. This was our first time in Sayulita and it did not disappoint. Sayulita is a laid back town with a wonderful beach but not filled with Spring Breakers and overdevelopment. The town was full of energy and offers plenty of wonderful restaurants, street vendors and bars but the best part was having the best of both worlds at our fingertips. A short trip up into the jungle hills to Magia and voila, complete peace and quiet. Magia was one of the few places we've stayed which was actually better in-person than the photos. The wonderful-yet-subtle design and features of the home, the sights, jungle sounds and that view are hard to translate in one-dimensional photos. You simply have to experience it firsthand. Picture flocks of bright green parakeets flying past you, geckos chirping and you start to get the feeling. All of the amenities were well thought-out and you have everything you need to enjoy a quiet vacation. Cameron and Miguel ensured everything we needed was provided. The open air shower in the master suite added a special bonus. The walk into town isn't terribly difficult but we ended up renting a Jeep, which allowed us to explore outlying areas. If you rent a golf cart, make sure to reserve one first. I also rode the bus into Bucerias to get the Jeep and I found the service dependable and cheap. The bus stop is just down the hill from Magia. I would recommend this home to anyone interested in a memorable experience in Sayulita.

“Great family vacation” We just got back from another great stay at Sayulita Suites! Our kids are 4 years older now (12 and 14) and we all stayed comfortably in the Tulip suite. We really enjoyed surfing on the boogie boards provided. We also hung out in the beautiful front courtyard in the shade, reading and sketching, and enjoyed drinks with Lyn on the rooftop patio with its splendid view. We were very comfortable and had everything we needed - right down the blender for pina coladas! We were able to take the 5 minute walk into town for dinner or cook at home using great local produce and delicious fresh fish. A most memorable stay that we look forward to repeating!

“Beautiful new renovations” We are in agreement with the review Elle wrote and wanted to add a little more. We rented another apartment in this same building (I think there are 3 total)which was also freshly renovated. It turned out to be perfect for us because the balcony for apt a was too dangerous for our 2 year old who wanted to explore everything. The back end had a wonderful little nook to eat outside in the fresh air where there were safer gates. We stayed at 3 places over 2 weeks and this one was the cleanest :) There seemed to be ants in even 'the best' condos in town (where our friends were staying) but not a single one to be found in ours. There are always lots of birds to wake you up in the mornings, no matter where you stay it seems, but our kids eyes lit up with excitement whenever we heard the rooster calls that came from within the neighborhood. We slept through the calls in the mornings, as long as we closed a few windows at night. The beach towels that were provided make packing and laundry days sooo much easier/lighter - so thanks for providing that and the tons of hanging space and drawers. There were two large fan with easily adjustable speeds and the lighting was adjustable as well. Beautiful and spacious - many thanks.

“Great family vacation home!” My wife and I were looking for a place which would put us close to the many activities we had planned in Sayulita... To satisfy our needs it was important to be roomy enough to include our 2 married sons, their wives and our 2 year old granddaughter. At the same time, we all have hectic schedules so we needed a place to relax and something to do while our granddaughter could get a nap. We did some research and discovered what i would call"A Cut above" in terms of luxury homes for rent... No place is perfect. But, Casa Roca Sayulita was just what we were looking for. It was close to the surf breaks, restaurants, grocery stores and other area attractions. The kitchen was a perfect place to cut expenses by dining in and allowed us enjoy ourselves without extra expenses. It was roomy, decorated very nicely, and had everything we needed. Our entire family was shocked at how nice it was for rental property. Further, it was cheaper than hotel rooms or 2 condos. It was really nice that the top floor had a table ideal for playing games after our granddaughter went to bed. We were able to enjoy ourselves without disturbing her but close enough to be aware if she needed us. One of the highlights of our stay was seeing 2 dolphins playing with big fish. We spent about 20 minutes just watching them chase fish in the bay... Once they caught the fish they played with them by throwing them in the air before eating them.

“3 minutes away” 3 minutes of my morning normally consist of me slugging a $5 coffee while sifting through dozens of emails sent since I last checked at around midnight last night, 1/3rd of which are marked "Important", having time to answer only 2 or 3 before the phone starts ringing and I have to start putting out today's fires. In 3 minutes here, I've seen a family of "Chachalacas" eating berries from the tree outside my bedroom window, 2 different types of butterflies feed off the flowers in the garden below the terrace, a flock of small parrots swoop by like a fast-moving cloud, and 2 pileated woodpeckers making lazy work of the nearby coconut palm, all while gazing out at the sprawl of ocean before me, listening to the rhythm and drinking the best cup of coffee I have ever had in my life. Gracias!

“We have stayed here 3 times and love it!” Beautifully decorated, sunny rooms.Kitchen is well equipped. Our favorite area is the front balcony, with its cool breezes, overlooking the pool. Only a few minutes walk to the beach and 10 minutes into the town, along the beach or on the roads. The town has good choices in restaurants and a French bakery, which we frequent every morning. A local man comes around to the balcony every morning selling muffins.

“An exotic stay with sounds of birds in the jungle and a visual d” A very comfortable casita framed by beautiful stonework and a canopy of trees. The sleeping area is spacious and the beds very comfortable. A lovely window with shutters opened onto the stairs and main casa with lovely views of the jungle. The cooking facilities were well organized and the food was sumptuous . I loved the deck off the casita for morning coffee. I would say the shower was a little weak in pressure but adequate. I would love to return to the same outstanding casita

“Completely Satisfied” I have stayed in Sayulita about 10 times now. This is by far my favorite, and will only book here now. If it's not available, I'm waiting to book my flights when it is available. The house is insane, and Cory the owner is the most friendly guy you'll ever meet. When finding a place to stay, you won't find better. 120% satisfied!

“What an amazing place!” Thank you, Dennis and Joan, for creating Casa Paloma. What an amazing place! Such artistic and natural beauty, refined elegance, comfort, spaciousness, and unbelievably gorgeous views from all vantage points! You truly have a talent for creating a well-considered totally pleasing vacation environment, both inside and out. We so easily dropped out of our hectic lives and felt nurtured, uplifted, and rejuvenated. Casa Paloma is so grand and relaxing we felt like we didn't even need to go anywhere else to enjoy a fantastic vacation! And yet the quaint little town of Sayulita and its expansive beaches were so enjoyable that we left "our nest" at least once a day to go exploring. Especially enjoyable is the convenience of being able to walk easily everywhere. What a discovery your Casa Paloma and Sayulita are! We found so many glowing reviews of your place on the Vrbo site, we just had to come...we are totally happy we did...and look forward to returning as often as we can!

About Sayulita

Known as the crown jewel of the Riviera Nayarit, Sayulita should be the next place on your vacation to-do list.

Surrounded by stunning shorelines, dense jungles and plenty exciting activities, you'll never want to leave this Mexican paradise. Especially when you see the selection of beachfront vacation rentals FlipKey has to offer!

About Sayulita, Mexico

Not many people really knew about Sayulita until the 1960s when surfers found it and claimed it as one of the top surfing spots in Mexico.

This has shaped the area and the local mindset. This laid-back retreat is a unique combination of Mexican culture, Pacific surf, boutique shops and cool bars. So even if you don't surf, there's plenty to do!

Sayulita pokes out at the foot of the Sierra Madre Mountains, and is tucked away just off Highway 200. It may not look very different from other Mexican hideaways, but dig a little deeper and you'll see that it's a kind of bohemian paradise. Perfect for relaxing, exploring and enjoying.

What to do in Sayulita, Mexico

Surfing is the main activity in Sayulita – the waves are fantastic – but there are other things to try if that's not your thing.

Go stand-up paddle boarding around the bays, and see Sayulita from a completely new perspective.

If staying on land is more your thing, why not head to one of the yoga retreats? They'll show you how to relax and really embrace the Sayulita way of life.

Animal fans have plenty of options, too. Go whale watching on one of the tour boats. Chances are you'll see humpbacks, Bryde's whales, dolphins and Orcas jumping out of the water – they put on a great show!

If you can bear getting up early on vacation, try and time your trip to coincide with the turtle release. The Sayulita beaches are a nesting ground for sea turtles, and every year a rush of babies try to make it back to the water.

For the adventurous types, there are canopy tours, jungle biking and horseback riding centers, so there's never a dull moment!

Top travel tips for Sayulita, Mexico

When you fly to Sayulita, you'll have to fill out a tourist visa on the plane – make sure you keep the stamped portion as you'll need it when you leave the country.

There are plenty of ATMs in Sayulita – but avoid the free-standing ones as they're not as reliable.

Spanish is the main language in Sayulita, so maybe bring a phrasebook along in case you get stuck! It’s also a great way to interact with the friendly locals – they’ll be super impressed if you try a few words.

There are over 320 days of sunshine a year, and temperatures average at 82F! Make sure you pack your sunscreen.

For a little bit of paradise, find your beachfront apartment or jungle retreat on FlipKey, and make the most of this wonderful vacation destination. Start browsing and planning, today!

I came to Sayulita to chill back out after two weeks in Mexico City. Travelling alone, wanting to cook for myself sometimes & taking some on-line courses, this lovely open space met all my needs. Maria was very responsive to my inquiries & made me feel right at home. The place is minutes walk to the plaza, beach & stores while being hidden away from traffic & the noise all the people having a great time in town are making. The crowing roosters are the main soundtrack & I love that! Halfway up a hill so a nice breeze keeps it cool & offers nice views out over greenery and other local homes. There's another space for two along the same balcony, so you could rent out both units & have privacy and easy connection.see more
Jardin de las Palmas: Summer Special - $ 315 / night
This was the perfect house for our group

We just got home from a two week stay In Jardin De Las Palmas... the place was amazing. It is located in my favorite neighborhood in Sayulita (close to the plaza and beach, but just up away from the noise, and not a big hike to get there.) Our group was large and had several small children- this was the perfect house for us-- the kids were safe, happy, playing and the grownups were relaxed. Not all the houses in Sayulita are good for kids (bad railings, etc) but this is excellent. Over the middle weekend our group surged in numbers and there are many other rentals right nearby that we were able to use as well. Again, the location in excellent. There was plenty of room to spread out and have privacy, yet the common areas are well thought out and able to manage a large gathering. It is easily one of the most well thought out layouts of a vacation rental I have ever seen-- and the attention to detail and design are impeccable. It truly had everything we needed for the trip of a lifetime. Extra thanks to Mitch who was an excellent host, as well as Guadalupe for the amazing job keeping the place spotless. The pool was also so well maintained. My highest recommendations. Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car.see more
Villa del Oso - Front Beach Luxury Villa
Villa de Oso completely surpassed our expectations

Villa de Oso completely surpassed our expectations of a romantic beach villa. We rented Villa de Oso for a week and got married on the beach in front of the villa and had the reception on the lawn. Our entire wedding party was able to stay here. The breakfast food was excellent and the staff and service were incredible and family friendly. We always felt safe as they had a night watch guard who looked over the grounds. Luisa took care of our grocery shopping so the house was stocked with food and beverages upon arrival. Villa de Oso is beach front and it's just far enough from town that you feel like you are on your own beach. Villa de Oso was a perfect setting for a wedding, the grounds held 130 people with plenty of room for a great reception. Luisa's staff made the yard look incredible and the lit up palm trees we're unforgettable. It is one of the most romantic settings we've ever seen. All of our friends can't stop raving about what a perfect location Villa de Oso was for the wedding. We highly recommend Villa de Oso. Gianna and andy Rogerson San Francisco, Casee more

Best Place in Sayulita

I have been coming to Sayulita for about 15 years now and have stayed at most of the vacation rentals and hands down this is the best place to rent. Big bedrooms are only dwarfed by the gigantic views this house has. The sunsets are spectacular if you can book this place do it. In addition Cory the owner is a great resource and is friendly helpful host.see more

Home away From Home

My husband and I needed a week away to relax and just enjoy life. We did just that from the moment we arrived. The location is perfect - quiet and peaceful, a short walk to the almost empty long, beautiful beach (we saw no more than 6 people each day!) and to town. We spent one day driving up the coast, visiting each little beach town, which was fun, but mostly stayed home, with a trip into town or the beach each day. Plenty of night life if you want it. We loved buying mahimahi from the fishermen, visiting the produce store, and bringing it all home to BBQ. Lots of reading on the deck, listening to the birds and dozing. This casa is truly a "home away from home."see more
