A large fully equipped gourmet kitchen highlighting Tasmanian black heart timber cupboards, cathedral ceiling ,chandelier and outlook to private patio / BBQ area with a table and chairs and a collection of potted topiary and bonsai. The lounge and dining areas are spacious also furnished with quality Tasmanian made leather sofas and Tasmanian black heart sassafras tables , contemporary lighting , original Tas...manian artwork and quality furnishings.

The Large bedroom has a reading area with a chaise lounge , contemporary steel queen bed , stylish en-suite and separate laundry plus a walk in wardrobe .

Views over the private garden, Launceston City and mountains are enjoyed from the light filled rooms that capture the sun and roman blinds are fitted to windows. Timber floors, rugs , wool carpet and tiles have been used throughout and compliment the furniture.

Topiary Haven is located 5 minutes drive from Launceston CBD on the Metro bus route for The Cataract Gorge , First Basin and Cliff Grounds .
Bus stop across the road in Brougham Street, local supermarket 2 - 3 minutes walk ,cafe and restaurant can be found 5 minutes walk away at The Gorge ( and never fail to disappoint ) or take a 5 minute drive to the city to sample the fare of our many top restaurants .

You may prefer to stay in after a days travelling or sightseeing and cook up a storm in the gourmet kitchen - source some fresh Tasmanian produce and enjoy one of our favourite Tasmanian wines with your meal . Afterwards stretch out and relax on the comfortable sofas and listen to a selection of music, watch television, dvds , read or just chill out for the evening.

The Cataract Gorge , First Basin and Cliff Grounds are a must when you visit our city. There you will find walking trails, a chair lift, Alexander suspension bridge ,open air swimming pool ,lookouts and picnic grounds to explore.

There are many short trips and day trips to choose from when visiting Launceston such as, the Tamar Valley Wine Tour , Bridestowe Lavender Farm, Tasmania Zoo ( see the endangered Tasmanian Devils - the zoo has a breeding programme ). Historical Tours through Evandale, Longford and onto Oatlands and Ross where you will see Convict and Colonial heritage. The Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Boags Brewery, Classic Car Museum are within a ten minute walk of each other and are an enjoyable walk through Australia 's third oldest city.

The architecture of Launceston City is a mixture of Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian ,Art Deco and Pre / Post War buildings and sits at the head of the Tamar Valley overlooked by the residents homes on the hills and distant mountain ranges.

  I was so fortunate to have located Topiary Haven in an Internet search. We were looking for a place to spend almost a month in the Launceston area-- and we truly found a haven. The unit is practically brand new + luxurious, finished with lovely local materials, has a terrific bed, gorgeous furniture and bedding, a large bathroom, plus washer and dryer area. The kitchen is completely outfitted with new dishes, and every gadget and appliance you could want. The living room is large, light, and furnished with beautiful furniture, much of it locally made in Tasmania. The garden setting is very appealing, especially in the Spring. Our hosts made sure we had everything we wanted and more ! ( Even sharing fresh produce and herbs from their vegetable garden with us.) The kitchen was stocked with wonderful Tasmanian goodies and anything you could want for breakfast. Everything the hosts Diana and Barry do is first class. I hope we can return to this wonderful accommodation, where we had complete peace and quiet, and privacy in a convenient residential neighborhood setting.

  Travelling all the way to Tasmania to stay for nearly 4 weeks in accommodation you find on the internet is daunting . It was good that your family in Tasmania could view the apartment prior to booking and give you a personal view of our property.

  We had the most wonderful stay at Topiary Haven, every little extra had been provided for our stay and Diana and Barry were the perfect hosts. The cottage was immaculately clean, they saw that we wanted for nothing, even fresh fruit and veges were thoughtfully provided from their own vegetable garden. The dining area was warm and sunny, we had a BBQ outside, fresh coffee was always at hand with freshly baked biscuits still warm from the oven. They even lent us their little dog to take for walks who was a charming companion, we want to return and have told all our friends, the hardest part at the end of our stay was handing back the key.
