What Past Guests Are Saying
Stayed at Benton for three nights and the accommodations were very nice. Great for a up to 4 people. Spouse and myself stayed, along with our two teens. The cabin was spotless, the towels were soft, the property sits back from the road in a tree-filled lot. Hot tub was just right. Only one thing could have made the experience better and that would be to have a pullout bed in the sofa. The sofa is rather small for a family of 4. The price was just right for a good night's lodging!
Did Not Enjoy
The hot tub didn't work very well, only a few of the jets worked and they were not very strong. The house was very pretty but we didn't know there was no cable tv to watch our shows.
We had fun and we will be back.
The staff was very accommodating and helped us to get into a cabin, even though I had booked the wrong weekend! The cottage was very clean and well maintained. I have not one complaint in my several stays with Old Man's Cave Chalets.
The location is awesome/The set up is good.2 bedrooms/bath & fire pit in the front
Saint Marys, Ohio
This is not my favorite cabin
I did not care for this cottage as compared to other cabins that I have stayed with you. The cabin has an odor when one first walks into the cottage. The beds are not very comfortable and the furniture is not very comfortable as well. I will not stay in this cottage again.
I am sorry to be negative, but this is how I feel. I have stayed in a few other cabins in your group and found them to be much nicer.
Thanksgiving in the woods
My husband and I ran away from home for the holiday. Benton cottage was the perfect hideaway. Not only did we cook over the firepit on Wednesday night, I was able to cook an entire traditional Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen. We had a wonderful time. Our dog loved the woods and we were able to relax, read and rest. LOVED the jacuzzi tub in the bath!!!
Loved this place
The Benton was wonderful. I was not so sure about no TV or Phone but it really was nice to just spend time with my husband. The staff were the nicest people I have ever met. I will be back for sure.
david and ginny dutton
my husband and i have been coming down to hocking hills for the past 4 years and we have stayed in the benton every time and we love it there. We love the quiet surroundings (not what we are used to at home). We just had a baby in jan so it was nice to get away for the weekend. We stayed in the hot tub most of the time, and the rest of the time either shopping or sleeping, which we dont get much of anymore. but our over all experiance was great and we plan on coming back again.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on the Benton Cottage. We are happy you were able to relax and enjoy yourself as a couple. We hope you will visit us again in the near future.
A quiet, relaxing experience away from the everyday hassles
The service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and accomadating. The Benton cabin was a cozy little house which was clean and stocked with amenities. The location was in a fairly secluded, quiet, area. We liked everything except the water was smelly!:)We are probably just not used to mountain well water. All in all, the long weekend we spent in the area was not long enough! It was fantastic! We certainly will be back soon.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are happy you enjoyed your stay in the Benton. We are aware of the "sulphur" smell in the water in that particular area, however, we can't do anything about the bathing part of your stay, but we certainly are happy to give you bottles of water for drinking. Again, thank you, and hopefully, we will see you during the holiday season!
My husband and I came to Old Man's Cave Chalets for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect! The people at the office were very friendly. The cabin was immaculate...very clean and nice. The cabin was secluded even though there was another one next door. We didn't really get out much to see the sites, just stayed around the cabin. I recommend these cabins to any and everyone!!
definition of relaxation
i couldnt have asked for a better vacation. im a busy person so one night is a long vacation for me. the cottage was very secluded and i felt like it was more comfortable than my own home.
the staff was enjoyable to be around and very friendly. everyone seemed happy to be working that day and made me feel good about my upcoming stay. they also communicated very well and kept me informed of every detail before my stay.
the hot tub was the best part of the stay. i spent most of my time in it and around the camp fire roasting marshmallows. although im a big city guy i felt very comfortable there in the country. it was very quite and secluded. im glad it wasnt on a camp ground and was on its own little property.
i cant wait until my next visit. i can reassure you it will be soon within the months to come.

We are so happy you had a wonderful, relaxing time with us and we thank you for taking the time to let us know! The Hocking Hills are very colorful during the Fall! We hope you will visit us very soon in the future. Thank you again!
We enjoyed our stay.
We really enjoyed the hot tub and looking out into the woods. We love staying in Hocking Hills and went hiking to a different place each day. We also enjoyed a campfire each night but didn't like that the fire ring is in front of the house with traffic going by. The house was clean but smelled musty. The shower flooded out all over the bathroom floor the first time we used it and didn't have good water pressure. The water also smells really bad. There was only one saucepan without a lid but there were three skillets. We did have a good time though- thanks!
