Beautiful old farmhouse covered in roses, clematis, honeysuckle and jasmine, surrounded by farmland. 14x7 m swimming pool (fenced). 7 bedrooms (3 doubles, two twins, one triple, one single downstairs (wheelchair accessible), 3 bathrooms. Magnificent open barn providing shaded area for eating, listening to the frogs, cicadas and cowbells, golden orioles, woodpeckers, owls, hoopooes and buzzards, watching horses and llamas across the field. Huge garden ideal for games and 4 acre wood, mostly towering oaks, with shy deer. Lissac is in the rolling hills just north of the foothills of the pyrenees. Toulouse is 50 minutes by car and Carcasonne 75 mins.
Le Fossat is the closest small town to Lissac, about 10 minutes drive, with all the amenities that you might need (Bakery, Supermarket, Bank, Petrol Station, Doctors, Bars, Cafe's etc etc). Larger local towns include Pamiers, Saverdun. There is a leisure lake with bar 5 mins drive away by car.
Use of a car is necessary, unless you are a cycling enthusiast - the Tour de France comes through the local village so a bonus if you are!

We stayed at Lissac for 3 weeks. There were always 3 families present, with plenty of children. For that, it was perfect. The house had a wonderful lived in feel, almost a home from home. The surrounding area was beautiful, a lot to explore. I would highly recommend Lissac to anyone and everyone.

j'ai organisé un week end pour mon anniversaire avec des amis dans la maison de Lissac.
Nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux. La maison est tout à fait charmante et complètement appropriée pour venir en famille ou entre amis.
je ne peux que conseiller la location de cet endroit magique. -

Lissac Farmhouse is such a family friendly house with everything you could possibly need on holiday ,even a grand piano. It is a great location, private but close to villages and towns for shopping .The mountains are not far and there is a lake up the road.
The swimming pool is beautifully maintained and surrounded by gorgeous rose bushes.
There is lots of space for sunbathing or relaxing in the shade in the extensive gardens or woodland.
Al fresco eating is great fun in the huge open barn which has wonderful views of the countryside.The perfect place in the evening for playing table tennis or spotting shooting stars.
