Chinaillon, a traditional alpine village at an altitude of 1300m above Le Grand Bornand, has retained its rural heritage of farms, chapels and chalets set in an unspoilt alpine landscape.
At the heart of the Aravis mountain range in Haute Savoie, and in an ideal location between Mont Blanc, Lake An...necy and Switzerland, Le Grand Bornand offers you the best of the alps. The resort is easily accessible from Geneva (50km) and Chambery (83km) international airports.
Le Chinaillon has all the advantages of a modern resort: a 90 km ski area at altitude of 1300m ? 2100m, with 37 lifts serving 43 pistes, a snowpark, a maintained and marked cross-country ski area with 62 km of tracks and an outstanding area for snowshoeing.
The Village de Lessy 4* résidence is located 300 m from the pistes and the ski school, at the heart of Chinaillon and is open from 17th December to 24th April.
It consists of 9 interlinked chalets which cascade down the hillside, housing 150 apartments, a reception, an indoor heated swimming pool and the ?Spa & Beauté Montagne? centre. Guests at the residence have free access to the swimming pool, jacuzzis, saunas, hammams and cardio training room whilst beauty and relaxation treatments can be booked for an extra fee. All apartments are accessible by a system of internal lifts which may involve more than one change en route and may take a day or two to get used to!
Adjoining reception is a cosy lounge area with an open fireplace and a billiard table. There are comfortable sofas and a selection of daily newspapers, plus a daily weather forecast as well as wi-fi internet access (payable) so you can keep up with what is happening in the world. Board games, a raclette and fondue equipment can be borrowed from reception as well as items of children?s equipment including cots, high chairs, bottle warmers. Please note, cots and high chairs are subject to availability, are restricted to 1 per apartment and should be requested in advance. A fresh bakery service is available from reception so you can order fresh bred and pastries the day before for collection the following morning. A full breakfast hamper can be ordered as well as outside catering if you so wish. For your convenience, there is a mini-market just by the entrance to the residence. Each chalet has a lift and ski lockers as well as a left luggage room which can be useful for early arrivals or late departures.
There is a choice of two size of apartment for 6 or 8 people.
The 3P6 is a two bedroom apartment for 4 to 6 people and measures 40m². The living room has a pull-out sofa bed which makes into 2 single beds, and a satellite television. The kitchenette, adjoining the living area, is fully equipped with a 4-burner ceramic hob with extractor hood, a multi-function oven, a fridge, dishwasher, electric coffee-maker, kettle, mini-mixer, pressure cooker and toaster.
There is one bedroom with a double bed and a second bedroom, (without windows, as it is on the inside of the apartments), with twin beds. There is a bathroom complete with heated towel rail and hair dryer. In some apartments the toilet is separate and in others it is in the bathroom. All apartments have a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls (payable) and there is internet access through the phone line (payable). Bed linen and towels are provided and beds are made up prior to your arrival (except the sofa bed where sheets are left for you to make the beds).All apartments have a balcony and there is an underground car park which costs 50? per week.
A slightly larger version of the 6 person apartment (Gold), measuring 50 ? 55m², which has an additional shower room and windows in the second bedroom is available upon payment of a supplement. Please ask for details.
A partial end of stay clean is provided free of charge. Please note that this does not include the kitchen so you must ensure that the kitchen is clean and tidy, that all washing up is clean and put away and that the fridge and oven are clean. All rubbish bins must be emptied and rubbish removed from the apartment prior to your departure
