This cabin is a comfortable getaway near Leavenworth. The couch downstairs is a cozy pit you won't want to leave, and the kitchen is well supplied. The beds were ok.
However keep in mind that it isn't really a "cabin in the woods", but a cabin-like house in a rural neighborhood. This is mentioned on the website, but we were hoping for something a little more secluded. It was disappointing that a security deposit check had to be cashed, instead of just providing a credit card like most lodging.
The cabin is definitely oriented towards families with children. There are beautiful bunk beds, lots of board games & movies (with multiple big TVs & DVD players), and many other children in the neighborhood. As a group of adult friends/couples without children, we were hoping for more privacy and closer proximity to downtown Leavenworth & hiking trails.
I highly recommend printing out a map/directions and arriving in the day time. There is little to no cell service and the cabin and roads are difficult to identify, especially at night. -

This place is great. It really does have everything you need. We stayed here for a long weekend with two young kids and had a great time. The rooms are very nice and we had plenty of space to spread out, the amount of games was amazing, the kids had a great time exploring all the games. The kitchen has everything you need to cook your own food or really whatever you wanted.
The yard has a swingset and small slide, which the kids loved. We enjoyed being able to let them play while we relaxed on the porch. It was just a great getaway, we are looking forward to coming back. -

The owners of this property have thought of everything. There was popcorn, hot chocolate, movies and a closet full of games to keep everyone in the family entertained. All of the beds are handmade and are absolutely gorgeous. Shampoo, handmade soaps, there wasnt anything that the owners neglected to think of.
There are also a multitude of outdoor activities to do from this location. A river close by, atv riding, bike riding, snowmobiling etc. or just relaxing in the cozy cabin.
Our family will be returning for years to come to this great find!

What a wonderful time we had at the Black Forest Lodge. We like to cook meals instead of going out to eat. The kitchen had everything we needed. There is also a crock pot for the days when you want your meal to be ready when you get back from a day of exploring the town or the mountains. The beds are very nice and the couch is so comfortable. There were a lot of movies and games to choose from. I am already looking forward to my next stay.

Our stay at the Black Forest Lodge exceeded our expectations in all ways. The lodge was easy to find, had ample parking and lots of activities at the lodge as well as nearby. When we walked in we were surprised how spacious it was and cozy at the same time. We loved the well stocked kitchen - so much thought was put into the "little extras" from the cocoa to the soaps. It was fantastic to travel and not have to bring linens for 5! We definately want to travel that way again. We played lots of games and watched a few movies. We are already planning our next trip here and can't wait!

This place is great! It's a good value and is set up very well. We traveled with a fairly large group, full families with children plus several other relatives and didn't feel cramped at all.
The location is a little farther outside of Leavenworth then ideal if you want to be in and out of town.
