This recently renovated, first floor apartment in an ancient palace, is located in the heart of the historical centre of Lecce. The apartment has two fully furnished master bedrooms, living room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a lovely terrace with an amazing view on Lecce's monuments. The terrace is on the roof (the second floor of the building) and can be accessed by an internal staircase from the apartment. Both the staircase and terrace are private. The terrace is large (the whole area of the apartment). There is an outdoor table and bench on the terrace.

The apartment is a perfect starting point for exploring the city of Lecce, just a few paces from the cathedral, Lecce’s monuments, restaurants and cafes.
It is also ideal for anyone wanting to move around Salento by train (the train station is less than 10 minutes walk).
Bicycles are available to hire in Lecce quite easily. There is space in the ground floor entrance to the building where you can leave bicycles. It is a good and easy way to get around the town.
Access to the historical centre by car is from 6am until 10pm every day except Sunday when the hours are restricted to between 6am and 3pm. During these hours it is possible to move around some areas of the centre and park near the apartment free of charge. At all other times you can park on the street starting from about 200 metres from the apartment. Some areas of street parking in the city are free while other places will have parking metres operational from 9am until 2pm and then again from 4pm until 9 pm. The cost of metred parking is 1 euro per hour.

I booked the apartment for some friends who wanted to visit Lecce because it is close to the station and they were not planning to rent a car. It was the perfect base for exploring both the city and the surrounding area. The apartment is lovely and it is really well located so it was perfect for them. I'd definitely recommend the apartment to anyone wanting to see Lecce and stay in a characteristic apartment in the historical centre with the convenience of being close enough to easily walk to the railway station for day trips to the surrounding towns. Thumbs up!
