San Clemente, CaliforniaCharming, comfortable, complete vacation rental
Left on 12/02/2011 for a stay in November 2011
My husband, brother-in-law, and I stayed in this charming villa for a week in November. We were enchanted by the surrounding village and were delighted with the opportunities to make discoveries in this off the beaten track area. Management was a+ in the pre-trip correspondence and onsite explanation of the property and quick response to a problem (water not quite hot enough). Unfortunately the weather during our stay was not condusive for swimming in the pretty pool; however we did enjoy the extensive collection of DVD movies and books. The layout with 2 stair cases is a little strange -- it takes some getting used to which stairs to take -- but in a way that added to the quirky charm. We hope to be able to return. A thoroughly enjoyable vacation.

Casa Magdalena is a beautiful house in a small, sleepy village, with walks in the Lecrin valley on your doorstep and the alpujarras not too far away. The village Saleres has a lovely square with a tapas bar where you can drink and mingle with locals.
We will definitely be back - perhaps to try some ski-ing next time! -

BestFabulous place for a holiday

We spent just over a week in Casa Magdalena with our daughter and son in law.
As soon as we entered the house we were welcomed by the character of the house.
Everything you may think of, was present.
After starting the days with a breakfast on the roof terrace, enjoying the sun and view, we made lovely walks in the Lecrin valle and the alpujarra, made the trip to Granada twice, went in to the Sierra Nevada and visited other places.
We also had lovely days in the casa being lazy at the pool.
We simply had a wonderfull time at Casa Magdalena. -

Spent a few days with girlfriends relaxing away from the families at home. Enjoyed luxuriating in beautiful and spacious surroundings; extremely well equipped house with warm pool and fantastic roof terraces offering stunning views. Lovely little village and perfectly located for day trips to the coast or mountains. Thoroughly recommended.

Full of character and very peaceful - I had a fantastic holiday in this lovely Villa, with friends - but it would be just as well suited for families. The position is superb - you can either travel inland to Granada and the mountains, or down to the coast in less than half an hour! Would love to visit again.

LondonBeautiful house that provided everything we could have wanted.

Casa Magdalena was a perfect hideout for our week to the Lecrin Valley. The booking process itself was so simple and the greeting on arrival was great, Lorna and David gave us all the information we needed and certainly made us feel wanted. The house itself would be perfect for families of all ages and although we were on our own we loved it too. There's a great splash pool, a stocked larder which is so useful when you arrive as we did on a fiesta wknd, gorgeous spacious bedrooms, powerful showers and plenty of living space if the weather turns sour (although ours was blazing sunshine). The village is small but bustling and there's very easy access to some great beaches (Almenucar & Salobrena are lovely and v Spanish) and Granada which is well worth a visit. Couldn't recommend the place more highly.

Poole, Dorsetthe perfect holiday
Left on 02/12/2010 for a stay in April 2009
As a family of 3 generations we wanted somewhere in a traditional village, but with car access; somewhere we could be together, but still all have space to do our own thing. Casa Magdalena fitted the bill perfectly. The two big luxurious bedroom suites with private bathrooms and their own small private terraces were a lovely retreat for parents and grandparents and the twin room was perfect for the children. On days when the rest of the family were engaged in more strenuous outdoor activity, the grandparents were happy to enjoy the sunny pool courtyard, or even satellite TV in the snug, and if the children were splashing around in the pool - there was always the roof terrace with its lovely views to retreat to. In the evenings if we wanted to be together - there was the larger of the two sitting rooms upstairs - with lovely views across the Valley. The quality of furniture, fittings, towels and linen was all very high.
We also enjoyed the services of the optional chef for a special celebratory meal - which was wonderful.
There was a heated pool, wifi and even a large larder full of basic essentials run on an honesty system. All of the details to make our stay relaxing and special seemed to have been thought of.
We knew that we would enjoy Granada, the Alhambra and the beautiful environs of the Lecrin Valley - but Casa Magdalena really made it a holiday to remember.
