GREAT TIME OF YEAR TO SHOP & VISIT WINERIES!

This house, called "Windridge", is a very special log cabin; the logs were constructed by two men and a huge crane and completed in 2005 by talented finish carpenters. It sits on a hill surrounded by its own 15 acres and overlooks over 850 acres of farm land with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. Inside you'll be surrounded by family antiques and artwork as well as all the modern conveniences for your complete comfort. It offers a large living room, kitchen and dining room area so no one misses out on anything. The master bedroom is on the first floor; with all of it's windows it feel...s like you're in a tree house! There are two bedrooms upstairs one with 2 twins and the other with a double bed. A den and front and back porches offer options of solitude; the back porch is screened in on one side with wicker furniture to relax in and enjoy the sunset.

"Windridge" is in the country but just 5 minutes from either the town of Hamilton or Leesburg; the latter is larger of the two, but both are lovely with shops and attractive houses all within walking distance of their downtown area. Just outside of Leesburg is Leesburg Corner Outlet with great, popular discount stores. Many historical buildings can be toured; one, just south of Leesburg, is Oatlands Plantation and offers tours most of the year. Also within a reasonable distance are Luray Caverns, Charles Town Races and even Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD are not far away. The Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority owns and opperates many parks in the area, some with golf courses, pools, farm demonstrations, a corn maize and all sorts of recreational activities. White's Ferry is just north of Leesburg and can take you across the Potomac River to Maryland. And Civil War history abounds in Loudoun County with the largest engagement taking place at Ball's Bluff, northeast of Leesburg.

For those desiring a more physical or mental challenge there is the Ida Lee Park and Recreation Center and the Rust Library. They are conveniently located next to each other just north of Leesburg and offer many varied activites for all ages.Read more

  The house is gorgeous inside - it's pictures do not do it justice! The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen is fabulous with great appliances, if you like to cook it is a great space to do so. We saw wild turkeys and people hunting on horses. It is close to old town Leesburg as well as several vineyards so you have your pick of activities. All in all it is a great place to spend a weekend!
