Orlando, FLWonderful except we had no working phone!
Left on 02/17/2011 for a stay in December 2010
The cabin is beautiful and we loved the seclusion. We had a beautiful White Christmas, but we had to leave a day early due to the weather to make sure we'd be able to get off the mountain. -- The only downside was that the phone and DSL in the cabin did not work the entire time of our stay, and cell coverage is impossible in the area. Our families couldn't reach us at Christmas. But overall we had a great time.

We are so happy to hear of your white Christmas at Eagle's Perch- it sounds dreamy! We are sorry that the DSL and phone service wasn't working and that you weren't able to talk with your family for the holiday. The big snow storms that we have in the mountains do sometimes disable certain things, and we apologize again that your stay was affected. Contact us again if your travels bring you to the mountains of North Carolina.

Miami ShoresMet expectations
Left on 11/12/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Eagle's Perch met our expectations in every way I can think of. It's a beautiful location, very isolated, with lots of land surrounding it, a beautiful building and very well provided. It's far away from any store which is part of it being truly "out of the bustle," but just keep that in mind. We wanted a place truly in the mountains and away from it all, and this was it, but with comfort.

Raleigh, NCBeautiful Cabin--need 4 wheel drive!
Left on 01/22/2010 for a stay in September 2009
My fiance and I stayed at this cabin in September with my mom, dad, brother and dog. The cabin is in a beautiful location, but I would recommend 4 wheel drive to get up the driveway. The cabin is warm, well-decorated, and spacious, with a nice view, and secluded location. However, we weren't too far from Asheville. While we stayed there, we visited Asheville, Chimney Rock, and went kayaking in a nearby lake. We also went through a nearby corn maze and their hayride. All in all, it was a nice visit, and the cabin was near enough to access local activities (30-60 minutes away for most). The fact that they allowed dogs was a nice bonus.

We hope you will come back for your Honeymoon or an anniversary!
YES! Eagles Perch recommends a 4x4 during the winter months or inclement weather! This property sits high up the mountain top and has one of my favorite views! We hope your 4 legged family member enjoy his/her stay as well! -

We had a wonderful experience at Eagle's Perch.
The house was lovely and well-kept. Lots of little extras too -- wood for the fireplace, ample linens, and kitchen supplies. The views were great and the privacy even better. A very comfortable place to land for a week of relaxation. Our dogs seemed to think so too!Response from Carolina Mornings - 02/25/2010

Vero Beach, FLGuys Weekend
Left on 11/12/2009 for a stay in September 2009
What a way to celebrate my little brother's last days of freedom before he got hitched. The house was perfect with plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably. The living room and kitchen area were huge with a great view overlooking the valley. The large front porch was just as awesome with no nieghbors anywhere in sight. Plus my Garmin GPS actually got us right there. Asheville was really only about 20 minutes away. A honda accord made it just fine, but avoid the right side of the driveway as there is a very large hole there. The check out process was very simple with virtually no cleaning necessary. I would definately stay here again!

So glad to hear that you guys enjoyed a great celebratory excursion (hope all is well with the marriage)! We do strive to fit the right group with the right property, and it sounds we hit the target. Thanks for sharing (and not giving too much information on what guys do on weekends such as these)!

Left on 11/12/2009 for a stay in July 2009
We had a good time. Less than 30 minutes to downtown. Not level, so expect some exercise. Private.
Response from Carolina Mornings - 12/21/2009

Yes, Eagles Perch is way up on top of a Mountain with very little room to walk around, unless you like to run down the mountain and hike up!
Good exercise for sure! -

Eagles PercehDisappointed
Left on 07/06/2009 for a stay in May 2009
The house was fine except we had some issues.
- closet door fell off hinges when opened
- phone lines were down
- carpenter bee problem made the deck unusable
Had to deal with maintenance people to deal with the above problems. We
own two homes and I felt like if I was going to be dealing with repairs, and
folks coming to the house I would have preferred being home getting my own
"to do" list done. It just ended up not being as relaxing as we had hoped. We
left a day early.
With this being said the house was well equipped.Response from Carolina Mornings - 07/07/2009

Hi Meg, Thank you for taking the time to complete a FlipKey review, and allowing us the opportunity to publicly respond to your concerns. Thank you as well for calling us with these concerns during your stay and allowing us to do our best to respond to them. We are sorry that it was not as restful a trip as you had hoped, and especially so since you decided to leave early. It is unfortunate that you had to deal with the phone outage from our spring thunderstorms, as well as the yearly influx of carpenter bees that do their best to keep our exterminators in business! (Fortunately while they are an annoyance, at least they do not sting!) We hope that you managed to enjoy Asheville and the area, if not the property specifically. We also hope you will keep us in mind for any future Asheville area rental needs. Thanks again, and take care!

Goldsboro, NCExactly what we expected!
Left on 03/19/2009 for a stay in February 2009
This property was great for our group of 6. It was clean and roomy. Overlook and drive to the property are beautiful!
When we arrived the heat did not work, but one quick phone call resolved that and someone was out to get it running in less than one hour. Very quick service!
We were very happy with our stay. -

Byron, GeorgiaComfortable seclusion
Left on 02/17/2009 for a stay in December 2008
The cabin and it's furnishings were first rate. The views, seclusion and overall setting were very good. The one negative would be the road leading to the cabin should be wider, and either paved or more stone as it creates problems getting to the cabin even in a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The road access around the cabin itself could also use some stone and/or paving. Otherwise everything else was good and I would recommend to others.

AlabamaFall Stay in Eagle's Pearch
Left on 12/08/2008 for a stay in November 2008
The home was very beautiful. We had a great time. The cabin was well equipped with all appliances, untencils, cookware, etc. We did not need anything. We went to the Igles grocery store about 7 or so miles from the cabin and stocked up on groceries for the week. It was much better than eating out all the time. The view from the back porch is breathtaking. It is so quiet you can hear a pin drop. Deer and other wildlife roam freely around the propery. We spotted deer in the early mornings while on the back porch enjoying coffee. It was like a home away from home. Very comfortable. The basement and garage area are locked up and there is no key, so dont plan on using them. They are under renovation. Its about a half hour away from downtown. One thing to note. Do NOT rely on your GPS to get you there by using the address. We had 2 different GPS's and they sent us on a wild goose chase. Use the written directions given. We only have 3 complaints about the home, which several others have agreed on. One is the road leading up to the house is a dirt path that almost looks impassable. It is not a normal road or street. It is dirt, and is overgrown with brush. Very rough, bumpy, and steep, getting up the driveway. Almost need a 4WD. Some street signs are not in plain sight. One of the directions has you looking for a red barn because there is NO street sign. The 2nd complaint is the water. The water is EXTREMELY soft and it takes forever to rinse soap off in the shower. The water pressure is VERY poor. Several people previously have complained about it, but it still has not been fixed. The 3rd issue home is also infested with ladybugs. They are everywhere. They dont bite or anything, but they are all over the house. You can see why this is not mentioned in the cabin description. Overall we really enjoyed the stay and the cabin. We would like to come back to the cabin on our next family vacation. Hopefully by then these things will be fixed.

Mississippibeautiful view
Left on 11/04/2008 for a stay in October 2008
We really enjoyed this house it was beautiful in all but a couple of ways. The view was amazing but the location was way farther out than we anticipated by the discription. The problems we had were mainly cosmetic things. The windows in great room are amazing but really need some sort of remote control blinds on upper windows, in the afternoon the sun is way to intense in that room can't imagine what it would be like in the summer. The master bedroom is amazing but the other two need a bit more attention to detail, especially twin bed room. the kitchen is beautiful and well appointed. Needs a new coffee pot, DVD player, and more water pressure for the spa tub as it takes way too long to fill to level needed to use jets. All in all I highly recommend this house. It was very comfortable and beautiful. In a wonderful rural community which is well worth a ride around to see the area and old homes, church, barns, fields etc.

Left on 09/04/2008 for a stay in August 2008
My family really enjoyed staying at the Eagles Perch. There were 4 adults so we had plenty of space and felt very at home in the cabin. The living room and kitchen were both very spacious with vaulted ceilings and a gorgeous stone fireplace separating the two rooms. The view from the living room and front porch was amazing. The beds were comfortable but the showers were a little weak. Also the cabin is a little out of the way and it took about 30 minutes to get to Asheville. Overall, the cabin was very clean and seemed newly renovated and upscale.

ISOLATION
Left on 07/18/2008 for a stay in July 2008
We enjoyed the lodge and the supplies that were needed for our vacation were available HOWEVER, We felt that when we arrived at the right place.( NO SIGN SAYING THIS WAS " Eagles Nest to confirm our arrival also the overgrown Front Lawn area left us with a question had the unit had not been given any care given for a long long time The door by which we were to enter would not open per instuctions and being no instuctions were available as to who to contact.
The unit we impressive, however the cleaning people left a lot to be desired.
1.Master bedroom toilet NOT CLEAN
2.A/C Filter Had not been changed in a long time
3.Need recyle bins
Unit appeared to not have been cleaned since it was last rented.( We Suggest that it be inspected just prior to new the arrivial of the next tenants.

This location and home is PERFECT if you are looking for stepping away from the world for a break from it all! The cabin is spotless, roomy and removed from the electronic world other than the Satellite TV which we tried to avoid even turning on. Thank you for the wonderful rental, we had a great time!

More than met our expectations - photos on website are true to reality. Everything possible was catered for. Beautiful part of the world and the cabin was a pleasure to come home to each day. The deck was our favourite place each evening with a few little drinks and a view worth a million dollars. Thanks from 5 Aussi's!

Fantastic View
Left on 05/17/2008 for a stay in April 2008
The views from the house are fantastic! The house and it's furnishings were even nicer than expected. We had 4 adults and 4 small children, yet didn't feel crowded as we would have in a motel.
Our biggest complaint is that the location was VERY rustic and a bit difficult to reach from town. -

We were promised breathtaking views and we got them and more! The house was in beautiful condition and very nicely decorated and appointed. The huge deck and living windows provided magnificent views of the mountains. Downtown Asheville was an easy 20-25 minute drive. I will definitely return.

awesome cabin in the woods, great views!
Left on 05/13/2008 for a stay in February 2008
This cabin had everything we were looking for in our Asheville getaway weekend. Not only was it private and secluded, but the view of the mountains was spectacular!
The design of the cabin was perfect for our two families of 5 to stay together without feeling like we were in each other's way.
The design of the place was also very contemporary and modern- it wasn't cheesy like so many rentals seem to be.
We can't wait to schedule our next visit!
