Left on 01/29/2013 for a stay in October 2012
My wife and I escaped the cold fall October in Chicago to visit the mountain vistas of North Carolina. we were pleasantly surprised to feel right at home in this beautifully appointed country cabin. We are city folks and were amazed at the nicely appointed/decorated home in the Carolina countryside.

Charlotte, NCcozy solitude in a unique and remote, yet accessible location
Left on 01/28/2010 for a stay in October 2009
It's not often that you can really get away without traveling a ridiculous distance, but this home really made it feel like you were in another world. Traveling from Charlotte, NC only took us about 2 and a half hours. It is a standard loft cabin (wood and paneling everywhere) but the large deck overlooking your own private pond is something special. BEST PART: Bring your dogs! Our dogs had the best time running around and exploring. Even better, we didn't have to worry about them getting lost or run over (like in the city). It does take about 25 minutes to get to downtown Asheville, so that felt a bit long after an evening enjoying the city. Also, I couldn't find any relatively close hiking trails. This property was great in October (leaves were practically on fire with color) but I want to go back in the summer and rock the ZIP LINE that goes from one end of the pond to the other! That's right, a zip line.

Heehee, we are sooo happy that you enjoyed your stay and will be joining us again soon! We do love your furry friends, and it makes us smile when we hear what a great time they had on their vacation! Oh, and to hear you had a good time, too... Please contact us soon to book your summertime visit (now that you let the cat out of the bag, who knows how long you have before the zip line is all booked up??)

If you are looking for a quiet getaway this is the place! We totally enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The loft was great for our son and the bedroom master bedroom was large and comfortable for us. It had a fully stocked kitchen so we were able to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner as needed! The grounds were great for pictures. Our son is a senior and I was able to take some GrEaT senior casual pictures by the pond and on the deck. We are planning to go back and take a fishing pole for the fully stocked pond :o) I enjoyed feeding the fish the left over bread. We had a wonderful relaxing time.

We traveled from Jacksonville, Fl, for a 10 day stay at this gorgeous property, and truly did not want to leave to go home. Our daughters, 10 and 11, and three very large dogs thoroughly enjoyed the privacy and freedom to run and play on the property and in the pond. We hiked, biked, and ran up the trails, built fires and made smores in the fire pit, played board games on the beautiful deck, and generally relaxed in the relative seclusion.
Grocery stores etc were within a 20 minute, stunningly beautiful drive on winding roads, and Asheville was not much farther. We found a wonderful stable to trail ride and also visited the Vanderbilt mansion. The cabin itself is nicely appointed and perfectly sized for our purposes. The owner was responsive to questions and very helpful in general. There were plenty of linens, and the cabin was clean and homey.
If you love to read, hike, relax, and do day trips, and don't mind not being able to zip around the corner to starbucks, this is definitely the place for you and your family. I think we turned the tv on about twice to catch the weather forecast. The rest of the time we were outside playing board games, reading, swimming, or exploring the property. We can't wait to go back! -

Cary, NCMajestic dog friendly getaway
Left on 07/06/2009 for a stay in May 2009
Our property search was all about finding the perfect getaway for our two Australian Cattle Dogs' first vacation away from home... letting them romp around off leash and swim to their heart's content. Pond Cove Cabin served up the perfect location. Mom and Dad also loved the relatively short ride to downtown Asheville (20 minutes) and the Biltmore Estate (30 minutes). Although the Pond Cove location was not always as peaceful and quiet as you would expect from a 100 acre property (there are locals up the road who enjoy riding their rather loud ATVs up and down the driveway path), the cabin was comfortable, the private pond a major bonus, and the hiking trails up the mountain a great addition to our daily activities. Searched 50+ online properties for dog friendly properties near Asheville; Pond Cove Cabin did not disappoint. Carolina Mornings staff are all very pleasant and professional... wonderful to deal with!

Left on 12/16/2008 for a stay in November 2008
this was a fun weekend. There were only a few things that we were a tiny bit annoyed by. First, our view from the front deck was of a poorly maintained trailer with an uneashed large dog. The road was under construction and at one point we had to wait for 45 minutes to get back to the cabin after going out. We also recieved many calls about missing coffee mugs after we returned home. We have no idea what happend to them, we used our own travel mugs from home while visiting.
there were ALOT of beer bottles floating in the pond. We did our best to pick them out as we spotted them, but some were out of reach. HOWEVER, overall we had a relaxing time. After we realized the kids didn't care about the trailer or the litter(which is probably from local kids, not owners)we spent the weekend building a fire and exploring the woods, and fishing. The cabin itself is lovely and very well maintained. There were plenty of blankets, etc, and the kitchen had what we needed to cook good meals. It was nice. Not as private as the ad may lead you to believe, but nice. Thank you for the opportunity to stay there and enjoy our family.

Marietta, GANice Peaceful Picturesque Cabin
Left on 12/03/2008 for a stay in October 2008
This is a great cabin with wonderful picturesque views, a beautiful pond that always seems to capture the light just right, and lots of peace and quiet. If you're looking for a relaxing get-away, then this is the place. The owner is really nice too. I accidentally locked myself out of the cabin on a cold, rainy day and he was there on site within 30 minutes with a spare key. The convenience of a washer and dryer was really handy too and eliminated the need to do loads of laundry upon returning home. The beautiful countryside yielded endless photos and I chose one of them to paint in watercolor. This place hit the perfect pitch for a beautiful fall vacation in the Asheville area. One caveat, however...be prepared to drive at least 30 minutes one way to/from town on winding mountain roads (get home before dark!) but the best cabins are at the end of the longest winding roads!

We had a lovely time at this vacation home! This is our second time renting with this agency and we are pleased with our experiences. The house provided just the secluded, quiet vacaction we were looking for! The scenery was splendid - the mountains were beautiful and the pond was lovely.
The only issue we had was with the housekeeping. The house was not clean when we arrived. All in all, though, if you love the outdoors and peace and quiet, you will be very happy with this vacation home! -

My wife and two children(and two dachsunds) loved the property. The view of the blue ridge montains were spectacular. The property was great. We had a few drinks, lit the fireplace and listened to Bob Dylan all weekend. My kids and I went for a hike and my three year old who loves The Wizard of Oz still calls the old cabin on the path Dorothy's house.
Loved it. Thanks...We will be back this summer! -

The perfect playground for you and your dog!
Left on 05/01/2008 for a stay in March 2008
The perfect playground for you and your dog to experience nature at is best!
The property was isolated ... the pond was a good way to cool off after walking all the fun trails.
At night, it was just us and the stars.
The only downfall was the numerous wasps inside the house ... we were unable to sleep in the loft, overlooking the stars at night and the beautiful sunrise in the morning.
