BremenWhat a special holiday-home
Left on 01/04/2013 for a stay in May 2012
We lived as two friends for two weeks in the apartement of Elisa.
She personally lives there together with her real nice big dog. She was a great host and cared for us and gave us any help we needed.
We loved the mornings on the balcony at the little kitchen-corner, we loved the evenings on the balcony in front of the very nice living room and rieght over the nice garden and olive trees. At the last night, the glow-worms danced for us in the garden.
The house lies in the hills, but from the big balcony, you can really see the sea!
We liked our two sleeping-rooms and I loved to cook in that tiny kitchen - big enough for a nice cooking-session!
In the two weeks, we've stayed there, it rainend very often. Nevertheless, we had a great time there - because the flat is also a good home at rainy and cold days!
We were glad to have a car with us - but the driving distance is very close - to the city with big supermarkets, a very nice open market and nice shops, coffeeshops and bakerys and also the railway-station and the nice promenade down the sea it's just a 10-minutes-drive!
We loved to stay at Elisas house and had a very relaxing and inspiring time there! -

Sydney, AustraliaAbsolutely perfect!
Left on 10/24/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Our stay was wonderful! We arrived driving a very large vehicle which was funny and frustrating. It was too large to fit in the parking space so Elisa kindly showed us a spot to park. The apartment is exactly as it appears in the photos and the view - wow! The location was fantastic. We would head into Chiavari each day and do day trips. Once to Portofino, Santa Margherita and the Cinque Terre. Our last day we stayed in Chiavari and it is a great town. Elisa drove us into Chiavari a couple of times because she was heading in which was so nice. We would buy fresh pasta and have dinner on the balcony overlooking the hills down to Chiavari - magic! Our breakfast was the same. Elisa gave us some of her pesto sauce and I have never tasted pesto sauce like it! Delicous. The children (12 & 10) loved it and we all fell in love with Elisa's golden retriever, Oni - we have one at home so it was special for us to spend time with her. The children wanted to stay at the apartment each day and play table tennis and be with Oni. A couple more days would have been perfect. Elisa is a very special lady and great company. We hope to visit again!

Laval, Quebec, CanadaAmazing experience
Left on 10/02/2012 for a stay in August 2012
One of the best experiences we had in Italy was meeting Elisa at her place. She is a pearl, she was everything, an amazing host, an amazing cook (her pesto was the best we ever had), an amazing tourist guide. She gave us amazing tips, suggestions for sightseeing and beaches. She also made reservations for restaurants with local cuisine and local customers. She made us feel like if we were visiting our family. Our little daughter of 20 months was also amazed by Oni, Elisa's Golden Retriever, who is so people friendly. Even after 1 month, she still asks for Oni.
The apartment is located in a small town called Leivi which is close to Chiavari, Cinque Terre and Genoa (if you need, Elisa will guide you and give you documentation, she has everything) The apartment is also amazing, it is clean, well furnished and the views are gorgeous. We were eating on the terrace every day and seeing the sea and the mountains at the same time. In the kitchen you find everything you need. The garden with the fruits and vegetables is to die for, Elisa installed a swing for our little Sarah. Our two teens also enjoyed the babyfoot table and the hamacs. We slept like babies with the breeze that was coming in from the hill. The only regret we had was not staying for a month. Holidays are unforgettable with what you visit but even more when you meet people like Elisa.
Since we came back from Italy, when we talk about our trip, one of the first thing we talk about is our great stay at Elisa's place.
Hopefully we will have the chance to go back to Ville delle Rose
Thanks a lot Elisa for everything. -

OdenthalToller Sommerurlaub
Left on 09/10/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Also tolle Gegend, tolle Gastgeberin sehr zu empfehlen

Amazing week Villa Delle Rose
Left on 08/22/2012 for a stay in June 2012
My husband, our 18-month old Daughter, my parents and I stayed at Villa Delle Rose for a week and loved every minute of it. We came to the Italian Riviera to attend a wedding and my husband managed to find this guest accommodation rather than having to pay for an over-priced hotel in Rapallo or Santa Margherita. We are so pleased he did!
As soon as we arrived the owner Elisa did everything to make us feel welcome and gave us all the information we could possibly need for our stay. She speaks about 4 different languages and has lots of stories to tell, I found her very warm and pleasant and not intruding in any way (she lives downstairs in the same house)
The house is situated on top of a rather big hill about 5mins drive from Chiavari where all the shops and the beach is so you really need a car to get around. We did the walk a couple of times but it is not ideal in the Italian summer heat (and with a buggy!) If you want to go out in the evening, it is a good idea to pre-book a cab and Elisa was more than happy to help with this too.
Whilst we were there we went to Rapallo and did a day's boat trip to Santa Margherita, Portofino and San Fruttuoso, it was a wonderful day so would definitely recommend.
Our only regret was that we didn't stay there for two weeks as when we arrived in France for our second week the weather wasn't half as good and we missed Villa Delle Rose and Elisa's hospitality already! -

KyivUnforgettable vacation
Left on 08/20/2012 for a stay in July 2012
I lack words to say how much we enjoyed our stay in Leiwi.
We were 2 families, 7 persons: 4 adults with 3 children, and we brought our dog (golden retriever) with us. We got to the apartment by 2 cars, and Elisa provided us with 2 parking places.
I would say, each guest had a good time, including the dog. Children had plenty of space and equipment to play. The dog had own area in the garden and a good friend Oni, Elisa's beautiful dog. Adults were amazed by sightseeings out of each window, light rooms and airy balconies all over the apartment. As well very comfortable barbecue area was always to our service, and we enjoyed a couple evenings spent there.
Elisa, the host of the house, is a treasure. She is very helpful and welcoming. Thanks to Elisa we discovered a lot of places around which otherwise we would never find. She helped us to settle any thing we asked her about.
I would recommend to stay at Elisa's apartment. Good time and warm atmosphere is guaranteed.

New York CityWe loved staying here so much that we returned for a second visi
Left on 07/18/2012 for a stay in May 2012
My wife, dog and I stayed at Villa delle Rose for three weeks and returned for a second visit. From the moment we arrived for our first stay Elisa welcomed us with extremely helpful information about where to visit and where to shop for food. Elisa made restaurant reservations for us, informed us about how to bring our dog on the trains, made an appointment for our dog to visit a veterinarian in nearby Chiavari and even called a barber to set up a haircut appointment for me. From day 1 Elisa eliminated all of our fears about adjusting. Elisa has a plethora of knowledge, which she eagerly shares, about the nearby seaside villages, including Santa Margherita as well as places further away such as Genoa. She also spent considerable time helping us with the Italian language. And her dog Oni was the most friendly and well behaved dog we ever came across. Leivi, which is the town where the apartment is located, is only about a five minute drive from Chiavari, which we found to be very interesting, hospitable and fun. We went to the local food market almost every day to buy local cheeses, fruits and vegetables. It wasn't too long before we felt "at home” in Chiavari as we went to buy whatever we needed from friendly vendors.
But staying at Villa delle Rose is more than about the host Elisa. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to see that the apartment and the views were exactly like those in the pictures. After just a few hours in the apartment we were on the balconies taking pictures of the surrounding mountains, homes and sea so we could send them home to our family and friends. This is the place for you and your family if you are looking for a spacious, bright and clean apartment, a place to walk among many beautiful olive trees, flowers and plants and the pleasure of having breathtaking views of the sea from your own private balconies.
Grazie mille Elisa.

Bremenwunderbare abende auf dem Balkon
Left on 07/06/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Left on 05/17/2012 for a stay in March 2012
awaits everyone who arrives at villa delle rose. The apartment is just as it looks, is clean and everything works! Nothing is too much trouble for the owner and her friends who look after the property and its gardens. The blossom in the spring was spectacular! The views from the balconies are fabulous. My dog enjoyed all the walks, which can be as challenging as you like in such a mountainous region, and she also made friends with Oni the owner's dog.
Chiavari is a lovely place to be: shops, restaurants, a superb marina and a great travel network via the trains to Genova, Torino, Milano, and south to the Cinque Terre and beyond. Venture up the Graveglia valley and there is so much to see, the countryside is stunning and the people charming and friendly. I was in heaven for a month. Thank you to Elisa and her friends, (one of whom can make fantastic pesto!) I have no reservations at all in recommending this apartment to anyone who truly loves Italy and the Italian way of life. -

I have stayed at this property and it is in a fantastic location. It is close to the sea and has beautiful sea views, but it is outside the town of Chiavari and offers the relaxation of the countryside and the Italian Riviera hills. The property has all amenities needed and the owner is always available to provide help with trips, restaurants, etc. it is very strategically located for exploring from the Cinque Terre in the east to Genoa in the west.

Left on 12/05/2011 for a stay in November 2011

NottinghamStunning views and a great hostess
Left on 10/17/2011 for a stay in August 2011
After driving 1,000 miles from the UK with two kids and my wife, who has a convenient fear of driving in Italy, I needed a break and this was the perfect place.
The sea and the mountains can be seen from every room and the 3 balconies provide easy access to the stunning views. On top of this you have the use of the gardens and olive groves which include a beautiful terrced area that is bathed in sunshine throughout the day and you also have the use of the outside kitchen and BBQ facilities.
We brought our dog with us and the gardens were fantastic as they are fully enclosed and even the naughtiest springer could not escape. The gardens are mainly olive groves with fruit tress and vineyards that lead down to a small stream.
The apartment is situated in a great location just outside Chiavari and has easy access to Portofino, cinque terre, Genova etc. It's up in the hills over looking the town and has it's own off road private parking.
The apartment itself sleeps four easily and is very clean and well maintained, we had everything we needed during our stay and what we didint have Elisa (the owner) was happy to provide. This included the use of bikes, tourist information and regular deliveries of olive oil and tomatoes from her neighbour Georgio.
Elisa is a fantastic hostess who will be around as much or as little as you require, she speaks English fluently and is always available. Keep on her good side and you may get a jar of her home made pesto !!
We spent three weeks with Elisa and we were all dissapointed to leave. The views are fantastic, the beaches are close by and the local shops & restaurants are within walking distance. This is a great location to visit Liguria and a comfortable place to come back to and relax at the end of the day. -

Nottingham, United KingdomOverlooking beautiful peaceful rustic valley with views down to
Left on 10/11/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We spent a week here before my daughters wedding in nearby santa Margherita, and it was the perfect antidote to all the last minute arrangements and planning involved.
We arrived in the early evening to a wonderful welcome from Elisa. She took us for a walk amongst the olive and various fruit trees in her garden to the bottom of the terraces from where you can walk through the valley down to Chiavari and the sea.
Elisa then marked all the essentials, supermarket, bakery, restaurants,
gelateria etc on a local map of Chiavari. This local knowledge saved us much trial and error, and avoided the tourist traps. She recommended the nearby pizzerie,La Cava (much used by the locals) which is within walking distance, and as it was a Saturday night phoned and made a booking for us
.
We found the appartment light and airy, and with 3 balconies (with a handy electric awning over one) the atmosphere was very much 'alfresco'. The views were superb particularly as the sun went down and the lights glowed from the dwellings dotted around the valley. The appartment felt spacious and was equipped with everything we needed. There was a brand new quality sofa bed in addition to the 2 bedrooms. There was also a wi fi connection.
Outside, above the garden is a terrace overlooking the valley, which conveniently had its own kitchen. We spent an idyllic evening here eating with my son in laws family, Elisa kindly providing us with a homemade pesto sauce ! A barbacue, table tennis table, and table football machine were also on this level - all it must be said, of good quality.
We found Chiavari very attractive, and the trains being both frequent and comfortable,a nice way to travel to the various resorts along the coast to Portofino.
Because we were quite occupied with the wedding we didn t get round to Cinque Terre and the many other attractions of Liguria, but would find this a perfect base to do so in the future. " Off peak " season would probably be a good time to pursue these more physical pursuits.
Elisa s business like attention to detail, and advice makes this a quality holiday let, but her warmth and unobtrusive manner really make you feel at home. -

Portland, OregonA beautiful place to stay in Liguria
Left on 10/02/2011 for a stay in September 2011
My husband and I and another couple stayed in Villa delle Rose for a week in September. It was a home more than an apartment where one could be comfortable for a much longer time than a week. There are three balconies with views over the hills and to the sea. With the sharp contrast of the southern sun, the shadow of the house moves across the landscape in such an beautiful way that it would be enough to spend the day watching it. But, the location is excellent for a variety of activities and trips. The owner of the property lives just below. She is charming, generous, and welcoming, and so is her excellent dog, Oni. We are helped in remembering through the owner's gift of a small bag of intensely perfumed oregano from her property. ...the smell of summer in Liguria.

Left on 09/24/2011 for a stay in July 2011
A great house to explore and a wonderful region!
We (family with three daughters (13, 11 and 7) decided to have an Italian summer holiday. We had not been in Italy recently and from the word go, Elisa made us feel very welcome and always received us with great hospitality.
The well maintained house is more than adequate for 5 people we found – bedrooms are very comfortable and living room was spacious and airy.
The choice of balconies ensures that you find a nice place to have your expresso with a view of the great landscape, mountains, sea and trees – spectacular!
House and kitchen are well supplied with anything you may need and Elisa is kindly on hand if you require assistance.
Public transport (bus and train) are easily accessible and free Wi-fi was provided.
We ate a lovely meal in La Cava , and also in Chiavari itself later in the 2 week stay, which Elisa kindly booked for us. Over the period, she also supplied us with plenty of “local knowledge” ranging from where to park, what to eat, where to shop & get ice cream etc, and where to swim and where to go.
On top of this, we were also more than welcome in her garden if we just wanted to relax which we did on a number of occasions.
Finally we also received gifts of vegetables and pesto to cook ourselves and were treated to Italian hospitality.
We did some day trips including a trip to Cinque Terra and Camogli and also a visit to Genoa’s aquarium and marine museum. On other days we relaxed on the beach or did some walks in the lovely surroundings.
Oni the Golden Retriever was an instant hit with all of us and sadly after two weeks of great weather we had to say good bye.
Many thanks again to Elisa and Oni who made our stay a very happy and memorable occasion. I would recommend it !
