Very nicely designed and furnished cabin in a beautiful forest. Good for a two to four people. Not too far from Blowing Rock. A bit far from a grocery store so stock up.

We had a wonderful time at Liberty Hill! We traveled there to snowboard with friends and had a great trip ! The house is beautiful, clean, quiet and a comfortable place to stay! There was great hot water for showers, a necessity after spending the day in the snow. We had a great time! We definitely hope to return!

Charlotte, NCPerfect Mountain Retreat!!!
Left on 10/31/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We stayed at Liberty Hill in mid-October and shared the house with our 2 young kids and Grandparents. Our stay was perfect. The house has everything one might need. We brought our own towels and sheets, paper products and food and had a wonderful time. The drive to the house is a little adventurous but definitely manageable.
If you need to get away from it all and just unwind, this house is great! -

RaleighGreat location and views
Left on 11/10/2011 for a stay in October 2011
This is a very nice little cabin in the woods. It has large windows that lend themselves to great views. The location is terrific...in the "neighborhood" there is a wonderful place to hike, with a waterfall...
The home has somewhat limited amenities. There is a small gas fireplace...and the TV certainly could be upgraded. The main issue is with the kitchen. It seems clear that no one really cooks there. There aren't even basic supplies (bring your own salt for goodness sake) and the cookware, etc is very minimal. They really need to fix this. we've stayed in many properties and this one is the least accommodating to a cook.
With that said, we have stayed here twice because we like it's proximity to Blowing Rock, the fact that you look out your window and see woods..not another house...and the surroundings. However, we'll most likely try a different place next year that has a living room better suited to a family of four (this home could be that with different furniture)...and a better supplied kitchen. I would hope to find one in as terrific a location as Liberty Hill! -

Cary, NCClean, new Cabin with beautiful wooded view.
Left on 10/20/2011 for a stay in October 2011
The cabin is well appointed and we all had a wonderful time and enjoyed the nearby waterfall. Had to take down windchimes to sleep at night because they kept up all of us the first night. Also be prepared that there are no window coverings on bedroom windows and there is a skylight over each bed. If you like to sleep in a dark room this is not for you. We like to sleep late on our vacations and it was too bright.

The stay was very nice, home is extremely clean. Wish there was a way to have the security deposit returned more promptly. The length of time held by Jenkins is unreasonable in my opinion.

New BernGorgeous cabin but...
Left on 07/15/2011 for a stay in July 2011
This cabin was gorgeous. Being only a few years old, everything is in excellent condition. The views are blocked by trees but you almost feel like you are staying in a giant tree house. It's modern on the inside with all you need to cook in the cabin. The only thing we couldn't find and needed was a potato masher.
The road to get there is a bit dangerous. It's one lane, gravel, and it winds in and around the mountains to take you a couple of miles into the woods. It's nice and secluded. The driveway to the cabin is straight down! We didn't expect that. We parked up at the top of the hill on the road because we were afraid we'd get our truck stuck down there if it rained. So we had to walk up and down the hill to our vehicle. There is a place to park down there but the grade is just so steep and with the forecast of rain we didn't want to risk it. Our car would spin on the gravel in dry weather.
You definitely need a good vehicle to get there and if you are going to park at the top you need to be able to get up and down that hill.
Overall, we loved being there but we love the adventure of things like this. We had a great time and we were really sad to leave. We hope to come back again someday. -

Liberty Hill is a beautiful cabin, clean and looks like new. We had the best time for new years, we also rented Ollie's Overlook next door (awesome cabin)

Creedmoor, NCgreat place
Left on 10/21/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We stayed at Liberty Hill (husb/wife--two kids ages 10 and 12) and enjoyed our stay. The cabin is on the smallish side for the living room, but since we really were spending more time out than in, that was fine. The deck is really nice. My girls loved running around outside. We hiked to the waterfalls---and climbed all around there. That was gorgeous.
They don't really supply anything in the kitchen (like not even salt or pepper) so be sure to bring anything you need for cooking.
The only downside to the cabin is the fireplace. It doesn't seem to have a good regulator (and no blower) on it, so it gets so hot it makes the upstairs miserable...thus the parents can't really sit by the fireplace while the kids are upstairs sleeping or playing.
Overall we would recommend this cabin. You certainly feel like you have "gotten away" when you stay here!! -

Jacksonville, FLOur Peaceful Stay in Blowing Rock
Left on 10/20/2010 for a stay in October 2010
Wonderful place. Very peaceful and comfortable. The owners have a great place and very envious. The service from Jenkins Rentals was good. We felt the situation with removing the trash and that the renter had to drive more than 15 miles to dispose of it was very inconvenient and should be better handled by the management company. Little disappointed in the situation with linens too. Overall, however, very enjoyable time.

Sellersville, PABeautiful cabin/Beautiful settings
Left on 10/13/2010 for a stay in October 2010
Beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. The cabin was immaculate and well equipped for cooking and comfort. There were many books and games, plus Direct TV with great reception. We enjoyed the scenery and loved the sound of the wind chimes, especially at night. And the beds were very comfortable, too. The driveway is a little steep and tricky - 4 wheel drive needed. We would definitely recommend this cabin to friends.

Chapel Hill, NCperfect little weekend getaway
Left on 05/12/2010 for a stay in May 2010
This cabin is perfect and Jenkins was great. The
driveway is frightening, and I do not recommend
venturing all the way down, we nearly got stuck at
the bottom! There is a small clearing at the top of
the driveway where we backed into for the remainder
of the weekend. 5 minutes to town, and the cabin is
very private. My first thought upon entering was, "I
don't ever want to leave" :) Clean, bright, sparsely
and tastefully decorated. I would stay again. And
again. And again. -

Left on 12/02/2008 for a stay in November 2008
This house was absolutely wonderful! The setting was lovely. The
decor was really well done. My only complaint was the cost of the
linen service and the cheapness and scantiness of the towels. I would
have preferred to have the cost built into the rent and really felt like I
was receiving "vacation" treatment, instead of glorified camping. -

Left on 11/11/2008 for a stay in September 2008
When we pulled up in front of the cabin, we thought that it
might be too small for the 3 of us. It reminded us of a
gingerbread house. But we were pleasantly surprised when we
walked through the front door. Liberty Hill was not only
tastefully decorated with modern appliances, but extremely
spacious and cozy. Loved the warm colors of the walls and
decor and smell of the cedar. The cabin was spotless. We loved
falling asleep with a star-filled sky above us and to the tunes of
the crickets. It felt like home for us for 7 days, we enjoyed
making our country breakfasts in the morning. My husband
loves to read, so he appreciated the great selection of books.
And our little girl enjoyed the puzzles and marbles. We had a
great week at Liberty Hill and we highly recommend it. -

Our stay at the Liberty Hill cabin was wonderful. It is new and romantic which appeals to us, well kept, comfortable, just perfect! In addition, it is just a few miles from downtown Blowing Rock which we love to visit. We especially enjoy talking to the locals, dining and shopping. Of course the weather is beautiful!!

Lovely cabin, quiet, peaceful, and nicely decorated. VERY difficult driveway angle from the road, can't imagine it in the snow. Long, circuitous journey from the main road. Once you make it in, though, it will be a pleasant stay for a small group.
