In the heart of Lenox, this 2 BR plus study (can be used as a 3BR) house offers the best of both worlds. On nearly 2 park-like acres, the house is a peaceful place for rest and relaxation. But there's much to do nearby. The town center of Lenox is within easy walking distance so you'll be close to restaurants, shops, and the town's village atmosphere. We are exactly 2 miles to Tanglewood, 10 minutes to Stockbridge, and about 15 minutes to Great Barrington. Great places to hike, ski, golf, and fish are all within a half hour or less.

The house features a spacious living room open to a kitchen and dining area, a large screened patio... where you'll enjoy meals and a quiet reading spot, a large master bedroom suite, a second bedroom with twin beds, and a study/3rd bedroom with pullout sofa. The house is light, bright, and well maintained with original art works and mid-century furnishings.

There is a flat-screen TV in the living area, WIFI, and a great selection of music and books. The kitchen is well equipped with newer stainless steel appliances.

Stay in the very heart of the Berkshires and enjoy all that this region has to offer. In addition to Tanglewood and outdoor attractions, you'll also be near Williamstown (a scenic half hour drive), Mass MoCA (another 15 minutes north), great outlet shopping in Lee just 10 minutes away, and all the nearby summer arts events.Read more

Our neighborhood: The house is located on a residential street, just under a mile walk into Lenox town center. It is well set back from the street by a long driveway. We are on nearly 2 acres, and the back of our property borders the Canyon Ranch grounds.

What to do nearby: Where to begin?! The town of Lenox is charming, with a good selection of restaurants, many boutiques, and antique stores. Lots of small-town amenities - a great ice cream shop, bookstore, and a shady park at the historic center of the town. We are 2 miles from Tanglewood, home of one of the world's best summer music festivals. And we are surrounded by world-class dance, theatre, and venues.

We are just minutes from two other great Berkshire towns - Stockbridge and Great Barrington. Both towns offer additional opportunities for dining, shopping, and leisurely strolling.

If you like museums, the Berkshires are truly outstanding - you can visit the Norman Rockwell Museum, Mass MOCA (one of the largest museums of contemporary art in the U.S.), the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, and Chesterwood, a national historic site in Stockbridge. And smaller, quirky museums abound in the area.

In summer, the area's natural beauty is a chief attraction for people of all ages. There are lakes for swimming and canoeing, countless hiking trails, Bish Bash Falls, and fishing and boating. A drive to Mount Greylock, with a short hike to the summit, makes for a memorable day trip. And for tennis or golf, we are right around the corner from Cranwell.

A week is not nearly enough to explore all that is available within minutes from our house!
