What Past Guests Are Saying
Fantastic authentic Greek Experience
Vacationed on a 14 Mediterranean Cruise in September 2013 and with 5 ports of call in Greece I was determined to visit Greece again to enjoy the amazing country, people and food. I didn't expect to be back again so soon but like the saying goes "being at the right place at the right time" I was fortunate enough to find Sam and his gem of a villa on the island of Lesvos. I wanted to go back for a real Greek experience to enjoy the landscape, beaches, history, food and people and the Villa allowed me to create those memories. Lesvos island offers the very best of Greece with the small villages, friendly people and hospitality second to none. We travelled as 4 friends on an adventure and took daily driving excursions to the various villages across the island, each village having its own individual character from the cobblestone streets, hot springs, castles, friendly people, beach lined tavernas and beaches that are all unique and allow you to relax and enjoy your surroundings. Time certainly stands still and they enjoy life!
The Pinellis Villa is breathtaking with a view of the aegean Sea from your balcony, clean and comfortable amenities and friendly and safe surroundings. Waking up to the sunrise, sheep in the fields and fresh air is rejuvinating. Shallow and sandy beach right out your doorstep and friendly Taverna at the end of the street who always greeted us with a friendly smile and service.
You are able to make your vacation experience as busy or quiet as you would like. We would enjoy a morning coffee on the balcony and then start our day to explore the many villages. We loved exploring the island, enjoying fresh authentic food, learning the history and sinking in to the Greek lifestyle. An incredble trip and memories!! We will be back!

Beautiful and Relaxing - time means nothing here!
We spent two glorious weeks last summer at Pinellis Villa in Ghavathas. Everyone on Lesbos is very friendly, hospitable and welcoming. The Villa is modern and comfortable with old country charm. It has a breathtaking view of aegean Sea and the mountains covered olive trees. The soft sandy beach is only minutes away. Time means nothing here to the local people. The ancient village of antissa only 15 minutes away will take you back in time. It has a traditional bakery, butcher, grocery stores, restaurant and cafe (best coffee on the island). We took many road trips. Kaloni has many shops and the best place to buy clothes. Skala Eresou also has a lovely beach, beach shops, wine store and restaurants. Best pizza on the island is in Petra (only one pizzeria there so you can't miss it). The view from Molyvos is also breathtaking with many shops and restaurants there as well. Make sure you stop in at the castle, beach and hot baths while you are there. Do not miss the historical sites, churches, museums, castles, therapeutic hot baths and ruins on this Island before you leave they are not all in athens. Pithari Monastery and Perivolis Monastery are close to the Villa. On the way to Dhionisos Temple on the other side of the Island there is the well and according to myth where infant achilles had been dipped in water by his mother holding onto him by his heel. We also discovered really nice hot baths in Polichnitos! I could go on and on. I promise you will enjoy the Villa, Island and people. You will take very fond memories back home with you.
Heaven on Earth!!
My family (husband and 2 adult daughters) spent 10 glorious days at the Pinellis Mediterranean retreat.
The island of Lesvos is like a diamond in the rough. It may only be 35 miles wide, but we traveled over 1,000 miles in our 10 day visit only to be amazed everyday by the beauty and mystique of this amazing island.
We had the advantage of the owner staying next door to us and he was our tour guide, interpreter and most of all our friend!!
There is so much to do, or so little to do depending on the day.
Every night there is a festival somewhere with great food, dance and wonderful Greek culture.
Two thumbs up.
If you are looking for relaxation or an adventure, this is the place to go!!
Extraordinary Vacation Experience!
Vacationed in Greece many times; toured most of the Cyclades and Lesvos with its warm, country charm as well as its historical significance ranks right up there with the very best Greece has to offer. The Pinellis family beach "palace" is well appointed, clean and comfortable with all the amenities minutes (walking) to beach and a few Km from the quaint town of antissa (which also has an emergency clinic) Overal a lovely property, very safe with easy access to all Lesvos has to offer. Hope to return some day soon!
Authentic Greek Paradise
We stayed at Sam's villa for one week last July. We were there with our family of four and or friends family of four. It is an incredible old world paradise with modern comforts!
The home enjoys a view of the aegean Sea, rolling hills with a chapel perched on top and olive groves right outside the door. The view is breathtaking. Shallow water and a sandy beach are perfect for young families and only a few minute walk from the front door. The home has a lovely terrace for dining outside and a beautiful, fresh garden. We ate tomatoes, peppers, beans and watermelons with fresh herbs right from the garden every day! One evening we were even treated to an authentic Greek dinner right in our own home...delicious! The shutter windows let a cool, usually constant breeze flow through. The Master Suite has a lovely balcony perfect for morning coffee and a view fit for a king...along with the Greek flag proudly blowing in the wind.
The location: The ancient town square of antissa is only a five minute drive away. It has a large central square with stone roads and quaint shops and restaurants throughout. We enjoyed many evenings in antissa where everyone seemed to gather for a coffee and a game of backgammon...so charming! The bakery air, fresh fruit market and fish truck is to die for. We took daily excursions to see the sights of Lesvos including the ancient monasteries, hot springs, fishing villages, petrified forest, towns, Medieval castles and ancient ruins. The beaches are all unique and offer friendly service.
I liked best: the authentic experience of Lesvos. There it felt like people had all the time in the world to talk, to share and to eat. Even when they did not speak English! It was geographically beautiful, especially at sunset. I loved exploring the island, eating the simple fresh food, sipping Retsina, learning the history and meeting the local people.
I liked least: Leaving! It was an incredible trip...one that I will forever treasure!!
