For those who are looking for the perfect Italian Riviera rental with special touches and pure luxury, Villa San Marco is the right place. Villa San Marco is the embodiment of the Mediteraranean soul combining sea, talian design at it's best,sky,art and sun!! Completely refurbished in 2005, Villa San Marco is nestled on the panoramic hillside just above Levanto, a typical Ligurian seaside village just 3km north of the famous CinqueTerre villages. The property's gardens are the ideal scenario for an unforgettable sparkling glass of wine while gazing out to the sea.

Villa San Marco, only for the second year on rent, occuppies the second... floor of a large Liberty Villa which dates back to 1908 and has been divided into 3 apartments. The villa can easily be spotted thanks to the two San Marco lions which are situated on the entry gate's pillars. From the antique gates, guests walk up the orginal pathway lined with palms to reach the flat's entrance after about 2 flights of stairs.

Upon entering the flat, a long corridor divides the rooms and to the left side of the corridor there are two bedrooms of which one master suite with an ensuite bathroom that has a shower, a second large bedroom with two singles that can also be made into a king size bed upon request and two large living rooms. All of these rooms have blaconies and/or wonderful sea views. To the right side of the corridor there is a single bedroom with a pull out trundle bed perfect for two children or young adults, a second bathroom with a wonderful large shower and bathtub, the modern kitchen and a lovely dining room. The dining room leads directly outside to the private garden which has terraced groves of lemons,olive trees,cactuses etc. This area is equipped with an outdoor bbq area, dining table and chairs and sunbeds and the view is quite spectacular. This will surely be where most guests will want to spend the majority of their time while staying at Villa San Marco.

From Villa San Marco, a couple flights of stairs lead down to the sea promenade of Levanto where guests can enjoy both private and public beaches. Villa San Marco provides a parking place near the house and an extra private parking space for those who wish to drive down to the center or to the sandy beach of Levanto. The trains departing directly from Levanto are and easy way to visit both the Cinque Terre villages and also places like Santa Margherita and Portofino. Levanto is a charming town not far from the Cinque Terre. It has an interesting old town centre and many traditionally painted houses. The town encloses a wide bay consisting of rocks and a good beach. It is a place of natural beauty. The bay is known as The sea between the mountains. It is surrounded by numerous hamlets with tightly packed houses. There is a diving centre on Levanto beach. You can hire boats, pedalos, canoes and surfboards. Levanto is the ideal place for visiting the Cinque Terre. The five picturesque villages are almost inaccessible by car. They are connected by the train which leaves from Levanto. The villages can also be reached along one of the most beautiful coastal walking paths in Europe. You will enjoy splendid breathtaking views of the sea, hills, olive and citrus groves, small vineyards and beautiful flora.

  The Villa is a place that you won't want to leave, not even to go out & enjoy the treasures of 5Terre. At the very least we found it very easy to come to. The pictures, good as they are, don't do justice to this wonderful place. There are no pictures from the master bedroom but you can remain in that room & marvel at the view were it not for urge to get out there & experience the beautiful surroundings. There is a terrace leading out from the living room. It is your own private gardened bordered by bushes & shaded, in part, by a large tree.There are many more strong points... the garden that forms part the condominium really is a delight to be. There is a private parking place.All in the house works well and is charming.I really do want to leave the last comment about the staff who manage the place. They do everything they can to make you feel at home. They are pro-active, charming, effective & you always feel that they want you to have the best experience possible &... this is what we got Thanks again alessia!
