Serendipity -- a quiet, secluded three bedroom Caribbean villa nestled on its own private beach in North Sound's Leverick Bay on the unique and peaceful island of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands.<br /><br />Serendipity is only a three minute walk from Leverick Bay Resort and Marina with its large fresh water pool, boat rentals, water sports, tennis, beach front bar and restaurant, market and shops.<br /><br />A wrap-around deck offers multiple possibilities for dining, sunning, reading and relaxing. The night sky, with its stars and moon reflecting a path across the water, is as vast as the imagination allow...s.<br /><br />The stairway down from the deck brings one to a large sheltered beach front patio with a stone barbeque. This is an ideal place from which to watch the sunset and the evening show of pelicans diving for their dinner. A private dock outfitted with whips and a ladder is ready for a motor boat or day sailer.<br /><br />The villa's own private beach abuts the patio and is flanked by a large rock outcropping on which sunning iguanas at times can be seen. Excellent snorkeling can be experienced right off the beach, offering viewing of brilliantly colored tropical fish, coral, conch, lobster and the occasional sea turtle.Enter the spacious glass-walled Great Room with its dramatic 270 degree unobstructed view of the turquoise waters of North Sound and its passing sailboats and circling, diving seabirds.<br /><br />The open, Caribbean-style floor plan with native tile and decorations make living and entertaining easy and convenient. Constant cooling trade winds controlled by louvered windows and sliding glass doors make air conditioning unnecessary.<br /><br />For great entertaining and dinner parties, you'll enjoy the center island bar and the fully-equipped kitchen adjacent to the indoor dining area that comfortably seats six. Just outside on the patio is a barbeque grill.<br /><br />Serendipity's master bedroom includes a large bathroom en-suite featuring designer tile in the open shower area. The Twin and King Guest Bedrooms share a bath with tub shower.<br /><br />The views of the sea and sounds of the surf on the rocks below are unique in this area of the Caribbean and gently lull one to sleep in all three bedrooms.<br /></p>

  We shared this villa with four good friends and had a wonderful time. Everything you need is here, right on the water! Snorkel, kayak, swim in the pool or the ocean, relax on your deck and soak it all in. Close enough to walk to the restaurant and bar if you want to go out. Or take a water taxi to other hot spots. So much to do and see and it is all beautiful. Great memories.

  Truly Serendipity

  We rented the house for 3 weeks in January, 2011. This was the first time we'd ever gotten away for more than 10 days, and finding this house, in this spot, was Serendipity.
  
  After a week sailing on the Mustang Sally, I couldn't believe the luxury of all that room and a bathtub! The house is slightly dated, but very large and open, with an up to date kitchen. (and that tub.)
  
  Housekeeping came every day around noon, with fresh sheets and towels, including beach towels. The gardens and pool are well maintained. You're just up the hill from Limerick Bay, with a little grocery, a laundry, some shops, two restaurants and a bar. The managers at Limerick Bay took very good care of us.
  
  The house is on a point, with that rock outcropping, Clark's point. Because of the slope of the hill and the point the house and beach are very private, although there are neighbors all around. You have the best seat in the harbor to watch ships come in and the exodus every morning.
  
  There's a beach that's about 100 ft wide, a very nice pool, and wrap-around balconies, a lower patio on the beach with a barbeque and the patio around the pool. The front courtyard is also private and there's a gas grill. We could go downstairs from the main level to the beach that had an ever-renewed crop of shells and clean sand that led out to a sea-grass bottom. There's a wooden dock with ladders. The water is less than waist deep all the way to the end of the dock. We got to know the tides, watched the pelicans fish and then soar overhead (with an occasional "gift" to anyone underneath) and there are fish and sea turtles, as well as smaller birds.
  
  I lived on the balcony just outside the bedroom with my Kindle. Never needed air conditioning and in fact, had to regulate the cross breezes by adjusting the louvered windows to keep from having too much fresh air. Because there's so little light pollution, I could see the Milky Way, moon- and sun-rises and -sets, and even identified a few constellations that I'd never recognized before!
  
  The only drawbacks were minor: only one of the safes functioned, the varnish in the kitchen cabinet still smelled strong, and we were serenaded by the music from one of the mini-cruisers a couple of nights. If you can't manage a lot of steep steps from the driveway, you won't be able to stay here.
  
  You will need a rental car to visit the rest of the island (including the Baths) and you'll need to shop for groceries in Spanish Town. (Go to the store at the Marina) However, my husband and I, and our guests for one of the weeks, spent most of our time enjoying - and learning the meaning of - Serendipity.
