      Stone House was extremely comfortable

Left on 11/05/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Stayed at the Stone house for 4 nights and found it to be very comfortable and convenient. Fully stocked kitchen and new gas grill. Close to road but could not hear the road noise because of the 22 inch walls. Dogs loved playing in the fenced in yard and on the rock hill. Within walking distance of downtown but we drove and found plenty of parking. People in Lexington were very friendly. Enjoy.

Outstanding place to stay for relaxation, comfort and coziness

Left on 01/24/2011 for a stay in January 2011

I was looking for a place for a weekend of relaxation and comfort and experienced that and more with the stay at 1780 Stone House. Everything was as advertized, and more. It is very difficult to capture in words the ambience and feel that a well kept, well furnished olde world house gives. However, if it is rest, relaxation, comfort and coziness that one is looking for within Lexington with easy access to all local and regional sightseeing areas, then the 1780 House is the place to stay. Five Stars all around

Early american Charm with Modern Conveniences

Left on 09/03/2010 for a stay in August 2010

We had another great stay at the Stone House as our son began his third year at VMI. We like the Stone House because it combines early american charm with modern conveniences. We like Lexington for the same reason. Learning about the histories of the Stone House, Lexington, and VMI has given us a better understanding of american History. Also, the Stone House is located with very convenient access to various activities in the area, including walks around downtown Lexington and VMI, dining at restaurants, hiking the Chessie Trail, and visits to Buena Vista, and Staunton.

Left on 10/22/2009 for a stay in October 2009

We love staying there when we visit Lexington. It is a great location and nicely decorated. Best feature is that it is dog friendly. We always travel with our dogs and this place is great for them.

      Great getaway!

Left on 08/13/2009 for a stay in August 2009

This is wonderful historic home nestled in the hillside going into the town of Lexington proper.
We walked into the grounds of VMI, as well as Washington & Lee University. The town is charming and I would definitely visit again. The easy distances to wineries and the Natural Bridge and more as well as antique shops and such made it great for us.

We really appreciated having a well equipped kitchen. There were corkscrews, wine glasses, tons of cookware and more to work with.

      Thanks for a great place!
