Couples of all ages and from all over the world have chosen to retreat to the Romance of the Sea. With it's own private deck and hot tub, this small cottage studio offers privacy and views impossible to attain in a hotel or condo. The Romance sits towards the top of the hill just a block from the ocean, making lounging on the deck and watching the view a perfect past time. Enjoying your morning coffee or evening cocktail in the relaxing and soothing waters of the spa for two (shielded from view with it's privacy screen) is a perfect way to begin or end the day. Guests stroll hand-in-hand on the beach, watching the shore-birds, spying whales, looking for agates. Just north of us are tide pools to visit at low tide. A bit further on is the hidden Secret Beach, a truly lovely and incredible place accessible only by climbing the rocks at low tide.

Come back to the cottage to share a meal - cooked on the gas grill on the deck or inside in the kitchenette. Inside you will find all the amenities of home: the leather couch and recliner for snuggling by the gas fireplace, the 40" flat screen HDMI TV with 'smart' DVD player - although I think most folks don't take time to watch TV; wireless internet - if you MUST work just a tiny bit; a kitchenette with two burner cook-top, microwave and dining area. The house is fully stocked with everything you will need in order to create your masterpiece, including spices in the cupboard and condiments on the door of the refrigerator. You won't need to buy ice for your drinks as the fridge has an automatic ice maker. Enjoy your meal outside on the deck or inside at the little table.

Take in a show or do a little gambling at the casino just a mile and a half away. You don't have to drive if you don't want to. If you walk along the beach at low tide, you can take a taxi back late at night. Local taxis anywhere within the Lincoln City area are only $8.

For cozying up and maybe sleeping, luxuriate in the incredibly comfortable plush pillow-top king bed. We have been pleased to get almost as many comments about this bed as we have had about the neighborhood deer! More than one couple have written to us after their stay to ask specific questions about the bed. And did we mention the deer? We think the deer have a romance sensor - they visit almost every couple at least once. We love reading the delightful guest comments in the log which almost always include the deer!

The Roads End beach is a fine place for a romantic stroll with tidepools, islands, and the headland with its hidden cove. Sailboarders come from everywhere! When Lincoln City's beaches are crowded or windy, this sheltered spot just north of town is surprisingly quiet. A short path descends to the beach at the pebbly mouth of a lazy little creek. The north beach is topped by a jumble of quaint old cottages until the beach narrows to the massive Cascade Head. Fragments of lava form ragged islands where comic, long-necked cormorants dry their black wings atop guano-stained roosts. At low tide it's possible to clamber around the headland's tip to a secret cove and beach. Don't linger too long or you'll have to wait hours until the next low tide to get out!

  My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Romance by the sea. We celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary. This was our first time at the cozy cottage and we very much appreciated the ambiance and the hot tub! Wonderful views and very private. I would definitely recommend this place and am looking forward to staying at other places that Deb and Rob have too.

  This little place is beautiful! Great location just off hwy 101. We enjoyed several places, antique stores and scenic drives. The weather was a bit on the chilly side while we were here, but thanks to a redbox we spent the later night just enjoying movies.
  We saw deer both morning and evening here. Nice to sit on the deck and watch the Ocean roll in!
  We had a meal at Tidal Raves per Debi's suggestion, i had a smoked salmon soup with my meal that was about one of the best soups ive ever tried! The Safeway store near by was handy and reasonable, not to mention the chicken dinner meal we had was pretty darn good. The only thing that was a bit of a challenge for us was the parking. Being flat landers, the steep incline was something we were not use to but we managed.

  We loved this place! Has everything you need to spend a quiet weekend together. The view of the coast was awesome, not at all inhibited by other houses out front. The hot tub was great at night to look up at the stars. Close enough to town that you can drive in to get items to stock your fridge and pantry. Felt like home the whole weekend and you don't have to worry about housekeeping disturbing you!

  This is a nice, quiet studio in Lincoln City.
  Its easy access from the highway and the owners have a list of restaurants,
  and attractions, hiking books, tide times, etc. that is extremely helpful.
  We arrived late in the evening, but found the grocery store was very close by and you can buy soup, salad , sandwiches on the way in.

  My Girlfriend and I went here for our first romantic weekend getaway and we were very impressed. I have stayed at another house on the Oregon Coast owned by Debi and Rob and I was equally impressed with this property. It has all the comforts of home and is extremely clean. The patio with hot tub and great view was amazing. The king sized pillow top mattress was nice as well.

  Very comfortable bed. Nice kitchen. Decent shower. Would prefer a small washer/ dryer combo because we dirtied up many clothes on the drizzly-day beachwalks. Good hot tub.

  My partner and I stayed here for two nights in december and had a lovely time. We were greeted by deer in the backyard as we pulled up to the place, the studio set up was prefect for two, and the clear and beautiful view of the ocean can be seen from the bed. It was cozy, private, warm, and cute. We recommend this place for any couple looking for a romantic getaway at the beach.

  Romance by the Sea was a perfect spot for my husband and me. It was in a quiet spot but well within walking distance down to the beach. The cottage studio had all the necessities and then some! The owners were great to work with and shared many e-mails with us on things to do in Oregon since it was our first trip. I want to come back soon!!

  Debi and Rob's cottage rental is a steal with all of the amenities of home plus more. My husband and I have never before run across such a great vacation rental deal and they will always have us as two loyal customers. The location is great and the hot tub and private balcony give it that extra something that will keep us coming back.   This is not our first time staying at this quiet little cottage. We were hooked after our first visit and try to come back every year. Cozy, great view, sort walk to the beach and comfy bed are just some of the features you will enjoy if you take advantage of this great value. If you are look for a place to hide away, romance and off the beaten path this is it. Short distance to stores and local restaurants. Kitchen is well stocked and great if you just want to stay in and enjoy each other. Hot tub on deck is private just the right size and feels great morning, noon or night. You won't be disapointed it this great choice. Owners are wonderful to work with, honest and great hosts.
