Description from the manager
A fabulous, stone built, semi-detached cottage, quietly nestling in the traditional Lakeland village of Lindale, on the scenic and largely undiscovered Lakeland Peninsula. Lovingly renovated in 2007 to provide a superb blend of original character with contemporary style, this cottage is spacious and stylish throughout, boasting an open fire, two lavish en suite bathrooms with underfloor heating and a charming summer room leading to an attractive courtyard garden. There are many pleasant walks from the doorstep, whilst Lindale's quaint, narrow streets are home to traditional dwellings, a shop and welcoming old pubs. Cartmel, the coastal...Read more

This is a superb property. It would be especially suitable for three couples who want some degree of privacy. It is maintained to a very high standard and has plenty of space. Lindale makes a very convenient base to explore the South Cumbria area.

We thought the house was very spacious and the facilities were of a very high standard. All the rooms were of a high standard. The kitchen was wel equipped and there were plenty of crockery etc. The house was very warm and although we were looking forward to lighting the open fire we did not need to. If we wanted to stay in this area again we would certain hope that this property was available.

Left on 12/18/2009 for a stay in August 2009
Excellently decorated interior ( the kids loved the big telly! ) beds were a bit hard and had trouble sleeping , could have done with some more literature of places to visit , as we went to Grange over sands which was a bit of a dump.
The location was not remote enough for our liking , we had a workshop next door to us , and the weather was also a bit pants , not our best Sykes experience i'm afraid. -

The property is furnished to a high standard, in fact we could not find fault in anything, everything was there that we needed.
In a quiet village close to an excellent public house serving good food and nicely located for visiting the Lake District. -

Our time spent in the Lake District was Ace.
Everything about our goliday there was great, the
cottage was everything we wished for and more, would
highly recommend it.
Good base to stay, as there is so much to see and
do around the area.
Lindale is a nice little village, with a good pub at top of the hill, good food served, with nice
friendly staff.
Grange-Over-Sands which is a ten minute drive away, is a small town with excellent shops ,and eating places. Not to be missed,as it has lots
of features from the Edwardian times.
We shall go back thats for sure,as it was the
perfect place to relax and enjoy the wide open spaces that the Lakes have to offer.Just beautiful. -

Left on 12/03/2009 for a stay in December 2008
The property was of very high standard and as this was the first time we've stayed in a holiday cottage we've been totally spoiled.
The decor was excellent and there was such a homely feel from the moment we stepped in.
There was so much space in every room and we had plenty of room that the two families that stayed there didn't get under one anothers feet (4 adults, 2 four year olds and a 6 month old).
The cottage was ideally located, close to many places to visit and Lindale itself was very quaint and quiet.
Couldn't fault the property at all - excellent. -

Having arrived at the cottage in LINDALE rather earlier than the allocated time, we were met by a young lady who had just finished cleaning it.She was absolutely brilliant and told us everything we wanted to know about the cottage and surrounding area.
This is definately the best cottage we have ever stayed in. It is very big and spacious, and finished to a very high specification, situated in a great location for exploring the South Lakes area. There are two pubs nearby, but I wouldnt recommend the bottom one for eating. The one at the top of the hill is far better and has a lovely beer garden if the weather is nice.Be aware, however, that the shop / post office isn't open all day so bring enough supplies for the first couple of days. The supermarkets and shops in Grange-Over-Sands, which is a short drive away ,are well stocked for everything needed during a stay at the cottage.
There is nothing negative that I could say about this cottage. It is the best we have ever stayed in and I doubt we will find one as good anywhere in the uk
