We arrived at the cottage and the key was left in the door for us. Beautiful cottage, very spacious and perfect for our family week away. There was 6 adults, 1 child and a dog and we had lots of room.
The snug was an added bonus and perfect to chill although the dog loved this part of the house best!!
Great location to access local tourist attractions. The cottage does back on to a bust a road but we found we got use to the noise quite quickly. Disappointed that garden was muddy and full of dog poo but due to time of year we didn't need to use this. Although this cottage is dog friendly you do need to get out in the car for a dog walk.
Some of the crockery could do with being replaced and the cottage is crying out for a coat stand or rack. This is our only complaint. We didn't see the owner at all so left alone.
Fantastic break over new year with the family. Read more

Lakes Cottage Holidays
Nice house but ultimately a disappointing experience
Left on 10/29/2013 for a stay in October 2013 | SG
Essentially the house is nicely laid out, and I would presume a holiday rental from new. Therefore, it lacks all the homely touches that gives the feel of comfort that I would generally expect to feel from a holiday cottage as opposed to a chain hotel.
The house still clad in its original decorated skin, which is needing touched up a bit, and being the end of the season it contained some chipped glasses and crockery (not something that is good when you have a five and seven year olds in tow).
A point in mind; if you have younger children the house has clear fully glazed internal doors - it will only be a matter of time before one of them smacks full face into one.
Our main problem was that the central heating did not function and the landlord, who apparently lives next door (I believe so, as we never saw him), was more interested in preserving his booked table than coming round to look at and fire up the boiler.
Also simple things to clean properly or fix, like splashes on the paint at the side of the dishwasher and dog chewed door frame, were unattended to.
At some point in the future I will attach photos to support the above. Read more
We are pleased that your were happy with the cottage and look forward to welcoming you again soon

Chilled out week

Had a lovely week at this well equipped cottage, ideal for family break. Beds lovely and comfy, first impressions very spacious and clean. Owner very helpful, especially when we rang to say we had broken down on route! Location fine, although unable to take dogs out for walks without getting in car and driving a few miles but no problem otherwise. Cartmell well worth a visit, the pub food was delicious. Folder for guests could do with more up to date info...drove 20 miles with children on strength of one of the brochures to find the Zone had closed months ago and building was derelict! But an enjoyable week and will certainly recommend cottage to friends and family.
a great week

Wilson House - a little gem

Had a wonderful stay at Wilson House despite the weather. The accommodation had everything we needed apart from somewhere to hang coats. We all thought that coat hooks could have been fitted in the utility room which was warm from the boiler. Would stay again.
Good base for a relaxing holiday

This was a spacious, clean, and comfortably furnished home. Ideal for couples sharing a holiday or a family group. All large rooms plus a comfy snug for kids to escape to. Not a lot in Lindale itself but a good local pub/restaurant called the Royal Oak. Short drive to Grange over Sands for great bread, cakes and pies. Well placed to drive to Lakes. Welcoming owner who lived next door.

We had a lovely stay at Wilson House. We would most definately stay there again. The only downside is it is very close to a 60mph but after a while you don't realise. Great place to stay to get to Bowness, Windermere and Kendal. Extremely comfy beds too.
Ideal base to enjoy South Lakes in a very high standard of accom

We stayed here in May 2012 and were very impressed with the accommodation all round. Four couples stayed and each bedroom was of a high standard. The large lounge with comfy settees for everyone was ideal for a get together after a hard days walking! Kitchen was well equipped and bathrooms were lovely. The whole property was spotless.
No hesitation in returning.
