The Lookabout is located on the second level of the main cottage and features it own private entrance. This 1,000 sq. ft retreat with large walk out and 400 sq foot balcony, offers stunning views of the Bay, all the way out to Lake Huron. It is the perfect place to relax with your favourite book and beverage. With sleeping accommodations for 5, the master bedroom sports a king size bed with the second bedroom offering both a double and a single bed.

We are ideally situated on the west side of the Bruce Peninsula, on the shores of Lake Huron. Only 3.5 hours northwest of Toronto, or 2.5 hours north of Kitchener/Waterloo, Mac's Shacks distinctive cottage rentals provide the ideal setting for families and couples alike.
Unfortunately this map does not show accurately the quiet, sheltered bay we are located on. It is a great family destination!

BEACHES
The Bruce Peninsula is surrounded by water! Our beaches vary from tables of limestone rock on Georgian Bay to miles of sugar sand. Sunsets on the beaches of Lake Huron are second to none!
HIKING
The Bruce Trail begins or ends in Tobermory, snakes down the eastern shoreline of the Bruce Peninsula, and is Canada’s oldest and longest footpath. Backpack in the National Park .
KAYAKING & CANOEING
Spend a couple of hours or a couple of days discovering the hidden places of the Bruce Peninsula by kayak or canoe.

I would highly recommend these cottages! The cottages are very well laid out,comfortable and equipped with everything you may need. Karen was very friendly and helpful, the outside was cleaned everyday,the view is spectacular - all in all, a very good vacation!

We stayed at Macs Shacks for the weekend of June 24-26. We rented out the Huron, Lookabout and the Gardens for a family reunion and can honestly say it was perfect. For a group of 16, you'd imagine that things would be a bit tight but Karen assured us we'd be perfectly fine with the arrangement. we spent alot of good family time in the Huron together as a group and on the beautiful Deck/Hot tub. The Kids loved the canoes,kayaks and the beach. The adults loved the luxurious cabins, the deck and hammock.
We will definitely will be reaching out to Karen for another vacation (should they have any vacancy!) -

Peter and Karen MacDonald have truly thought of everything, right down to the 4-slice toaster and cappucino-maker. Did I mention the hot tub? How about the paddle boat? My ten year-old won't holiday anywhere else...spoiled br..!
