Cottage Profile Sunny Oasis is a beautiful, three bedroom, 2200 square foot cottage situated right on a unique boat basin on Stokes Bay on Lake Huron. Located only a short 10 minute drive to Black Creek Provincial Sandy Beach, this beach is perfect for children of all ages. It provides gradual entry into the water with a nice sandy bottom for swimming. Entering into the cottage by back door brings you into a hallway that takes you to the main living area of the cottage. The cottage is open concept with hardwood floors throughout. The kitchen area of the cottage has a country style decor and plenty of cupboard and counter space for storage dur...ing your stay. Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining area where you will find a wall of windows looking toward the lake and a set of doors that open onto the gracious sunroom providing a panoramic view of the lake. The dining table comfortably seats all six in your party. Enjoy the sunsets over a nice home cooked meal. In the cottage living room you'll find a leather couch, rocking chair, and an armchair to relax in and enjoy the satellite television or the DVD player on the high definition television. It's also a great place to relax and enjoy a good book. You can access the lakeside deck from this living area through french doors. There are three bedrooms at the cottage. Bedroom one is located on the main level it boasts a Queen size bed and a separate sitting area at one end of it. The other two bedrooms are on the upper level, bedroom two has a Queen size bed, the third bedroom has two single beds, both of these bedrooms have windows looking to the lake. There are two bathroom's at the cottage one on each level of the cottage, both a four piece with tub and shower. There is a laundry room with washing machine and dryer for your convenience. Downstairs you will find the "Man Cave" this room is perfect for the teenagers of the group or just a place for the men of your party to take in the game. This area is unfinished. It has a sectional couch here with a few chairs. Outside there is a large, grassed lot in which to enjoy the peace and quiet of Lake Huron. Guests can make the most here by sunbathing or BBQing on the large deck complete with patio table and chairs, umbrella, and picnic table. A wooden walkway takes you right off the front deck of the cottage down to the waterside deck and dock. Here you can watch the kids play along the shoreline. The dock is 40 feet long and has a depth of 3 feet of water at the end of it. You can spend the day exploring Stokes Bay and surrounding area, in the 15-foot Coleman canoe supplied by the owners. Six Adult and two children life jackets are included. There is also a sea kayak to venture out in. You will find a hospital, grocery store, pharmacy, bank and post office in the village of Lion's Head - a short distance away . Sit on the patio of the Lion's Head Inn and have a bite to eat or just take a walk around town and browse in all of the little stores.

  Inside the cottage was very nice and roomy but as soon as it got dark I was terrified to go outside. The spiders hanging down the sides of the cottage were huge and plentiful. Part of renting a cottage is enjoying the night time sitting outside but I wouldn't go out, it was very disappointing. There were also quite a number of stairs to get up and down to reach the fire pit at night.

  Cottage was nice, beds were uncomfortable, lots of stairs and lots and lots of Spiders. We had to fight our way in and out of the Cottage.

  Thank you for your comments. Since your stay the owner has replaced all the mattresses in the cottage and also had sprayed for the spider problem and it has been very effective.

  When we arrived at the cottage, we were pleasantly surprised. It was beautiful, very spacious and roomy and had everything that we would need. The only issue we had was with cleanliness. It was evident that it was not cleaned properly prior to our stay. There was dust, spiders and dog hair everywhere...so much so that there was clumps of hair in many of the corners. It was cleaner when we left than when we arrived. Very disappointed with that aspect of this cottage. If you have any sorts of allergies or are afraid of spiders, it may not be the cottage for you.
