Cottage Profile "The Hottage " is a newly constructed, 3400 square foot, completely secluded cottage. Located on the shores of Lake Huron. You'll find this two storey dwelling cottage nestled in the cedar forest surrounded by trees that provides a very private setting. On the upper level the open concept main living area, combined with floor to ceiling windows provides a bright, airy feel and makes for a great place to enjoy the beauty of Lake Huron. Comfortable seating on a couch, love seat and a chair, with a television, Satellite and DVD player provide an alternative to the outdoors on those rainy days. Also there is a woodstove available... here for cosy comfort on those cooler days. The galley style kitchen, which is also on the upper level, is fully equipped and will please the chef in the family. Complete with fridge, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. There is plenty of counter and cupboard space to make cooking and clean up convenient so the family has more time to spend outside. There is comfortable seating at the glass table topped dining table for all six people in your party . Patio doors lead off of this area and take you out to the large wrap around deck, it extends all the way to the roadside of the property. The lakeside deck is the perfect place to lounge at the patio table and enjoy your morning coffee. Here you can BBQ your meals and experience some of the beautiful sunsets Lake Huron is famous for. All of the bedrooms are on the ground floor at the cottage. Bedroom One has a queen bed and has a wall of glass windows facing the forest and an outside table and chairs to sit and enjoy the sounds of the birds and the waves crashing up against the shoreline. Bedroom two has two single beds, Bedroom three has a queen and the den area which could be used as a fourth bedroom has two pull out double couches, a woodburning fireplace, and a television located here. There is one four piece bathroom at the cottage, and it is located on the ground floor. There is ample outdoor space around the cottage for children to enjoy, with grassy areas for children to run around and play. A wooden boardwalk and trail lead down to the shoreline, and a rough trail to get to the water's edge. At the water's edge is a mix of flat limestone and some rubble swim shoes are recommended. There is a small island in front of the cottage which is great for snorkeling and exploring. The cottage is centrally located on the Bruce Peninsula. The fishing villages of Lion's Head and Tobermory, the Bruce Trail, Bruce Peninsula National Park and the spectacular cliffs of Georgian Bay are only a 20-minute drive away As one of the last major undeveloped stretches of Lake Huron shoreline, this is a great area for bike trips or hikes.

  My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hottage cottage for a week in august 2012. A very large place for 2 people. We had planned to backpack but my girlfriend sprained her foot so we decided to go for a luxury cottage instead. It's a stunning place, very private, great kitchen. Amazing rock beach for swimming on Lake Huron. I swam several times and never saw anyone else on the shoreline. It could not have been more perfect.
