Our rental cottage was very spacious with an amazing view of the lake from the kitchen. The second floor has a huge rec room that's great to spend time in on a rainy day.Lots of games, books and puzzles. The only thing missing in this room is a T.V. The deck is lovely and ideal for barbecues or just sitting & relaxing on the gravity chairs with a good book. In the evening, we enjoyed sitting around the firepit and having campfires. Our two boys loved the kayaks and made good use of them exploring the lake. The cliffs can be seen by the end of the road and there is a hiking trail going up to them. We hiked up for a couple hours ( Bruce Trail). Highly Recommended .Breathtaking Views!! It was about a 10min drive into the town of Lion's Head and about 20 mins into Wiarton for groceries and supplies.A few issues we had were, that the mattress for bedroom 2, where we slept in, is very low.It looks like the bed has only a boxspring with a foam top on it. ( no top mattress ). We found it to be very uncomfortable and the 3rd bedroom upstairs tilts to the one side which my son found uncomfortable. The sofas in the living area show their age( wear and tear) and this is understandable. The sandy beach area was muddy and the volleyball poles were under water ( not like the picture shown on the cottage site). What sold us was the incredible view of the lake at this cottage. It's all about location and this is one of the best that we have stayed at. Overall, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay here. Be sure to check out The Frog and The Nightgown Gift Shop just down the street. It has an amazing garden you can stroll through and many unique gift items.
