Toronto, OntarioRelaxation with a View
Left on 10/28/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sunsets cottage. True to its name the sunsets from day one were spectacular. Make sure you bring a camera! The cottage had everything we needed for the three of us outside of linens for the bed and bath. It was very clean and well kept inside and out. We had lots of room in the yard to toss a baseball around, catch some sun, relax on the deck, and fish. The surrounding vicinity offered the opportunity to hike right outside the cottage or on the Bruce Trail, see fantastic rock formations and lots of natural beauty in the landscape and shoreline. Mother Nature was in fine form when we were there. The cottage was close enough to Tobermory when we felt like shopping or using the Laundromat, but far enough away for us to feel like we were the only ones around. There was lots of privacy, not too close to other neighbouring cottages. The small sandy beach was very clean, the frogs were jumping and the occasional rabbit wandered around. Our dog loved it all too. The lake was extremely clear, and the fish were huge! We enjoyed the use of the canoe that came with the rental, when we weren't using our windsurfers or little Zodiak we brought with us. We met the owners who live next door and they were very welcoming but gave us our space too. It was nice to know they were close by if we needed them, but we never did - their renter manual was complete and told us everything we needed to know. We would definitely stay here again.

We rented the cottage for 2 weeks, but our stay was cut short by 5 days because of a family illness. The week we were there was lovely - the weather was good, but not hot enough for our liking.
The cottage itself was very comfortable and immaculate in cleanliness!
There is a private, sandy beach which is nice, but I'd recommend water shoes as it gets muddy as you go further out in the water.
The wireless internet signal is very weak, (it's coming from the cottage next door, (the actual owners of this cottage), but if you set up shop on the kitchen table, you can get a weak signal - but hey, it's supposed to be a vacation!))
The cottage is dog friendly - we had our 2 little woofers with us and they loved it - The owners next door have 2 little dogs as well and they, (the owners) were very patient with our guys who bark a lot... (next vacation, we're sending the dogs to doggie boot camp)
It's about a 30 minute drive to Tobermory which has a decent food-mart and an Lcbo. Tobermory itself isn't all that spectacular, but apparently there is an amazing beach which is fun for the kids.
It's a (long) 4 hour drive from Toronto and that would be my only complaint about this vacation.
Overall, we highly recommend this cottage. The owners are very nice, left us alone and the cottage itself really is a lovely place.
2 bedrooms and a pullout couch, (I believe) so there's lots of room for a small family.
Definitely a worthy choice if you don't mind the long drive from, say, Toronto.
Cheers!

Our stay was wonderful the weather was awesome,
could not have picked a more quiet time of the
year. Lots to see and do plenty of trails to walk.
The sunsets were just beautiful and breath taking.
The cottage was neat, tidy and very clean. We had a
couple of bears around two nights sniffing in the
bedroom window however the dog scared them away.It
would of been a little easier to find the cottage
if we were given the 911 number, and a better
mattress to sleep on . All in all we had a great
quiet week we would consider this cottage again.

Mississaugagreat cottage, wish it had a better beach.
Left on 10/29/2009 for a stay in August 2009
The cottage was exactly what we were looking for, it was just big
enough for our family of 5, it had all the amenities one would need for
a one week stay, and many more. The cottage was in a great location,
and with the two boats had lots to do. It would have been nice to have
been able to catch some fish while we were there, as it stated that
there was fishing at the lake. As well, the beach was very small, and
had many weeds once you got out a few feet.
We were impressed with the service from RentCottage.com, the cottage
was exactly what the pictures said, and the people at RentCottage.com
were a great help. We would definately rent from them again.
All in all, the cottage was great, and we had an awesome time. -

This is the second time I have stayed here at "Sunsets". The cottage has all the amenities you need and so packing was not a chore - coming or going. Plenty of room for three adults and 2 children. The area is secluded and quiet and the owners, who have a place adjacent, are delightful. There's lots to do and see within a short proximity. I highly recommend it to anyone.

If you are looking for a place to relax we would highly recommend Sunset Cottage. The cottage was very clean with everything you need to enjoy your holiday. Close enough to enjoy the local tourist spots The Grotto (absolutely beautiful), and Lions Head.
Bob and I will be booking for next year.

Cosy and pleasant cottage, nicely appointed.
Swimming was a letdown. Though there is a little beach, the water at this end of the lake is very shallow. Would be great for small children, however. Sunsets were lovely, as promised.
Overall too expensive considering you have to cook your own meals and clean, which of course is true of most cottage rentals. -

Toronto, OntarioGorgeous View - Comfy Cottage Feel!
Left on 01/24/2009 for a stay in June 2008
This cottage was such a great getaway for our girls' weekend. We
were a little early in the season (first week of June) so the beach
was still a little under water and it rained a bit, but it was beautiful
and the DVD player, board games and books kept us busy when we
couldn't go outside. When we could, there was the porch, Sauble
Beach, and just walking in the area! There is such a long lawn by
the water that you can lay out there or have a fire by the water!
The interior of the cottage is very "rustic cottage" feeling, but has
extra amenities that make it a fun place to be no matter what the
weather! The rooms were so nice at dark at night that we caught up
on our sleep there during our visit!
This cottage is very quiet and the feeling is very private although
the neighbours are visible on the one side. It's just Carol and Bill
(the owners) and they keep mostly to themselves (and out of sight)
unless you want to chat them up and meet their beautiful little
pups! They were very friendly and helpful and were always around
in case you needed anything at the cottage, which was handy.
All in all we had a beautiful, relaxing vacation up there and we'd
absolutely go back! Thanks so much Carol and Bill! -

The cottage was a perfect spot for a late fall getaway. The location is quiet, the sunsets were beautiful and the cottage owners very accomodating. I didn't know what to expect since we had never tried renting a vacation cottage before but it turned out to be a very pleasant experience for us.
Daisy and I will be back. -

This particular property is fantastic for children, a small sandy waterfront beach all for themselves! The cottage was equipped with many games, puzzles, movies, etc for the rainy or tired afternoons. Very relaxing and warm environment.
