TorontoFantastic family vacation!
Left on 09/20/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We absolutely loved our experience at this cottage! We were looking for a beachfront cottage and it literally was right outside of the front door. The beach was not huge but it was very clean with crystal clear, water and a sandy bottom; the water was quite shallow which was ideal for the kids. There was public access to the beach, but usually only two or three other families that left by 4 or 5 in the afternoon. The cottage is set back just enough so that it remains very private.
The cottage was very clean and the owners were very attentive to our needs.
We would absolutely recommend this cottage and will be returning for another great vacation! -

GuelphNice but not nice enough for the money.

Stayed here with my family of 4 (including 2 young kids). The good: The beach, while much smaller than the photo suggests is amazing. Soft, fine sand and an incredibly long walkout into the water. The kitchen has everything you could need in terms of plates, bowls, and tools, and the chest freezer is a nice touch. Don't use any of the spices: they're ancient and bitter and will ruin your food (bring your own). The proximity of the cottage to many interesting things within an hour drive is a bonus. The bad: There is virtually no useful outdoor furniture. There's a huge deck out the backdoor that has a tiny little round glass table and 4 cheap, uncomfortable plastic chairs. The table isn't even big enough for our family to have used it for an outdoor meal. And while the pictures show 4 deck chairs, there are only 2 cheap plastic deck chairs and that's it. Why wouldn't this space be made more useable? There's also an open gazebo with 2 rundown wooden benches. What is this space intended for? The photos also show linens on the bed, but be clear there aren't any to be used (unless you're willing to be tagged with a "laundry fee"). The last thing is mice. There are mice and you will hear them at night while you are in bed and you will see their droppings each morning. This is the country and this may not faze you. Or it might, but it's worth noting. Ultimately, the location of this cottage is amazing but unless there's a real effort to step some things up, it's definitly not worth $1700 during high season. It wouldn't take much effort on the part of the owner to pay a little attention to the place and make it feel worth the price tag.

We always enjoy our holidays on the Bruce Peninsula. My family particularly enjoyed this cottage and rated it as one of the ones they have enjoyed the most.

Torontoa great waterfront vacation spot
Left on 02/05/2009 for a stay in August 2008
Great location on fine sandy beach, with a gentle slope, great for swimming. Beach was smaller than photos appeared to show, but this was not an issue for us. Beach tended to get quite busy with those using public access road, but all left by late afternoon. Cottage was well appointed, sufficiently private, comfortable, with nice area for sitting and eating on the deck - great for sunny summer breakfasts. Access to the great things on the Bruce Pennisula a real plus.

Left on 01/29/2009 for a stay in September 2008
This was the first family vacation my young family of four has taken together. Plus my sister and her young family also joined us. Other than the weather being a little cool in September, we had a really fun week. My boys (3 and 1) and their cousin (1) really enjoyed searching for frogs in the little bog/swampy area just before the beach. Very private, but not secluded completely from everyone. The cottage was well looked after, clean and had everything that we needed. Situated well if you would like to take day trips to Tobermory or take the ferry rides to Flower pot islands. Highly recommended.

Toronto, OntarioLovely spot
Left on 01/23/2009 for a stay in August 2008
This cottage was quite perfect for our family getaway. We loved being so close to the beach. Although it was a shared beach we were often alone on it or with other families. We rarely saw or heard neighbours. The beach itself is great for small kids as it's very shallow with gentle waves.
Plenty to do in nearby towns and lots of amenities like groceries, bakeries, vegetable stands, liquor stores, etc.
Laundry in the cottage would have made it perfect. You end up going through a lot of towels and bringing home a lot of dirty laundry after a week.
Definitely uses the dehumidifier in the main floor bedroom - it gets a bit damp if you don't.
A lovely, quiet spot!
