StroudFabulous apartment and terrific owner!
Left on 04/22/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Firstly, all praise to the booking staff at micasaenlisboa who were quick to respond to queries and provide helpful suggestions. Very impressive.
We arrived at 9pm by taxi to be met by Tessa, the elegant and open-hearted Portuguese owner who took her time to put us at our ease and introduce us to the huge apartment, fully equipped with everything we could need, including breakfast items and a nespresso clone in the kitchen! We really felt we had fallen on our feet and were delighted to be spending three nights there.
It was very relaxing to be made so welcome in an authentic and spacious home. -

Ruthy and I spent a fabulous week at an apartment - home from home - that is so lovely we wanted to live there! Tessa greeted us on arrival and was so kind and helpful - not only explaining how everything works etc, in the antique lovers paradise of a home, but where to go to eat, to visit and she was contactable should any advice etc be needed. The welcome wine extras, such as a bottle of wine in the fridge, beer and a breakfast provisions that were more than generous - it was all wonderfully overwhelming. The light in the distance across the River Tagus can be breathtaking - and the bed was so comfortable we had difficulty getting up each day! But Lisbon is such fun - the pastries, the trams, (No 28 just on the doorstep), the delightful small shops (we bought hand made gloves from the amsllest shop I have ever been in/all art Deco) - so much to see - just look in the guide book - we had 2 - my daughters Time Out version = excellent (and Tessa has a copy to borrow at the apartment) and the Eye Witness guide - great for pictures and inspiration. My two daughters stayed at this second to none apartment, not least for the joyful atmosphere, earlier in the year and fell in love with it - we were told to go! And their standards are very high having stayed in some amazing places. This is up there with an apartment in the South of France they visited a while ago - it's on our list of Best too. We are missing it already. Thank you Tessa - you are a star. Mervyn and Ruthy.

Dear "Ben" and Ruthy,
Thank you, you shine (like the clear moon...)
Next time you get to sail across the river...and to drive that tram!
Joy to you and take good care,

GoteborgWaking up to a sunny Tagus view

This apartment is nothing short of exquisit. I have had the chance to spend some time in Lisbon with 4 others friends and we decided to avoid hotels and crowds. We couldn't have made a better decision. This apartment has the charm and tastefulness of an antique flat, respecting the arquitecture of the begining of the century. However, it has all the commodities and conforts of the modern life, not to mention it's location wich is ideal to any tourist. Having the 28 tram right is indeed a luxury for those who dread Lisbon's hills. And the lady responsable for the apartment is really the best host I've met in quite a while. She explained and sorted out all of our doubts and questions, made really useful suggestions and was always there when needed, she was a lovely surprise! The time spent in Lisbon will stay in my memory for ever and those views of the Tagus will too.

Dear Andreas, you were such a delightful bunch, you were missed the minute you were gone. There is powerful magic about the Tagus, it may even bring you back "home"...
Obrigada!

Poole, EnglandFirst rate apartment.

I have no hesitation in recommending this very elegant apartment. It feels like a "home from home". It's a fifteen minute walk from the city centre but the famous tram 28 stops nearby for those averse to walking. It can be a little noisy, but that's what you expect in a city. There is a double bedroom with no windows which guarantees a good night's sleep for those sensitive to noise.
The friendly owner of the apartment is as hospitable and helpful as one would wish and seems to have thought of her guests' every conceivable need.
In short, it's hard to imagine staying in a better apartment than this. And it knocks the stuffing out of most soulless hotels.
